It was night time and manan were sleeping in eachother arms when nandini's sleep broke as she was thirsty.

She got up and saw the water jug empty so she went to kitchen to fetch water.

She drank water and was about to go back when she saw the door to garden area open.

Nan: itni raat ko garden kintaraf ka door kaise khula hai.

She went towards garden and was about to close the door when she saw raj sitting there looking at the sky with a photo frame.

She went towards him.

Nan: uncle aap soye nahi are you ok.

Raj gets startled with her voice but calmed down to see nandini there.

Raj: oh it's you.

Nan: aap theek hai uncle

Raj: ha main theek hu.

Nandini looked at the photo frame in his hand. Raj followed her gaze and saw her confused face seeing the photo frame.

Raj: she's manik's mom.

Nandini nodded.

Nan (hesitantly): can I... Um.. I mean can I see

Raj forwarded the frame to her.

Nan: she was beautiful!

Raj: I know she was the most beautiful lady in this whole world.

Nan: you loved her alot na.

Raj: I still love her alot but.

Saying this he stopped and bend down his head.

Nan: you can share uncle if you're comfortable. I know I am just a stranger but.

Raj: no beta you are a part of the family now you are not a stranger.

Nandini smiled.

Nan: so we should share our sorrows and happiness with the family right so you can tell what's in your heart.

Raj sighs and moved at side to make space for nandini to sit. She sat there.

Raj: I still love her alot but I failed her. I failed to take care of her manu I failed as a father. She must be very angry with me that I didn't care for her manu.

Saying this a lone tear escaped from his eyes.

Nandini placed her hand on his hand.

Nan: no uncle don't say like that you are not failed it's just that you

Raj: I know beta it's my fault I left manik when he needed me the most I was busy with my own grief.

Nan: no uncle you also lost your love don't blame yourself only it was a mistake from both the sides and now you have to try to mend your relation with manik.

Raj: no beta it's very late now.

Nan: uncle it is said better late than never right atleast try toh kijiye. You know uncle manik loves you so much it's just he is angry with you. Ek baar gussa khatam ho jaega toh saari narazgi bhi khatam ho jaegi. Aap aise haar nahi maan sakte.

Raj smiled seeing nandini's believe. He kept his hand on her head.

Raj: god bless you beta. Manik is very lucky that he got you as his life partner.

Nandini smiled.

Raj: but mujhe ek shikayat hai tumse.

Nan (hesitantly): wh.. what uncle?

Raj: this you calling me uncle. Beta you are now a part of our family so you should call me papa or dad just like manik calls. You know I always wanted a daughter and today I feel like finally I got a daughter.

Nandini nodded with tears in her eyes.

Raj: hey why are you crying beta shh aise rote nahi hai.

Saying this he side hugged him. This was the first time she was getting a father's love. Yes everything was solved between her father and her but she didn't got any time with her father because as soon as all misunderstandings got cleared she got married so she didn't got father's love and seeing raj consoling her she got emotional.

Raj: chlo aab bahaut raat ho gayi hai andar chalte hai.

Nandini nodded and they both went back inside.

Nandini reached their room and saw manik sleeping with open mouth. Nandini admired her and laid down beside him and caress his hair.

Nan (to herself): don't worry manik you will get your happy family back I promise.

Saying this she kept her head on his chest and drifted to sleep.

It was one month since manan's wedding. Everything was going well nandini had joined hospital and manik his office. Nyonika was silent till now and raj and nandini's bond was getting stronger unknown to manik. Aryaman was also out for some work and nyonika was also not there.

It was morning manan were sleeping in eachother's arms. Due to sun rays directly falling on nandini's face her sleep broke and she got up just to witness manik sleeping keeping his one hand on her waist and face hiding in her hairs.

She blushed seeing him but composed herself and came out of his hold and went towards washroom to freshen up.

She came out ready in her work clothes and sat beside bed and caress his hair.

Nan: manik wake up see it's morning you have to go to work.

Manik hmmed in sleep and kept his head on her lap. She smiled as it was his regular habit to keep his head in her lap and now she was use to it.

She keep ruffling his hair and he was nuzzling in her stomach.

After 10 minutes she again said.

Nan: manik get up aap late ho jaoge cmmon office nahi jana.

He opened his eyes to see the most beautiful creation of god infront of him.

He got up and pecked her lips.

Man: good morning wifey!

Nan: good morning husband now go get freshen up we have to go down for breakfast.

He nodded and left to the washroom.

After sometime manik came back getting ready in his usual office clothes and they both went downstairs where they saw everyone in the dining area.

They both took bebe's blessings and sat to have their breakfast.

Bebe: manu tu aaj bhi office ja rha hai.

Manik nodded

Bebe: but beta aaj toh

Manik got up from the breakfast table.

Man: I have an important meeting mujhe late ho rha hai.

Nan: but manik breakfast

Man: mujhe late ho rha hai.

Saying this he went from there without looking back.

Nan: bebe manik ko achanak se kya ho gya.

Bebe: beta aaj manik ki ma yani priya ki barsi hai aur iss din woh kisi ke saath nahi rehta woh akela rehta hai sabse dur.

Nandini nodded. She looked towards raj who was sitting with her head down suddenly a thought came in her mind

Nan: bebe kya main ma ke liye aaj ke din ek puja rakhwa sakti hu.

Bebe: par puttar humne kabhi bhi koi puja nahi rakhwayi aise manik ko bilkul pasand nahi hai. Hum har saal panditji ko khana aur dakshina dete hai lekin puja kabhi nahi karwayi. Aur puja mein baithega kon kyuki dekha jaye toh manik ko baithna chaiye puja par woh toh.

Nan: woh aaenge bebe main laungi unhe aap bas puja ki tayariya karwayiye main laungi manik ko aur iss baar puja mein manik hi baithenge.

Saying this she went towards raj and bent on her knees infront of him and said.

Nan: papa aap ko koi aitraz toh nahi hai na agar main ma ke liye puja rakhu.

Raj with tears nodded in no and kept his hand on her head blessing her.

Nan: bebe chaliye puja ki tayari krte hai phir main office ke liye niklungi aur manik ko lekar aaungi.

After sometime nandini headed towards Malhotra industries. As she entered in the office manik's p.a. recognised her as he had met her.

Aman: aree ma'am aap yaha.

Nan: ha aman manik kaha hai mujhe kuch kaam tha unse.

Aman: ma'am woh manik sir aaj kisi se nahi milte toh.

Nan: ha main jaanti hu but don't worry just tell me where is he?

Aman: he's in his cabin ma'am.

Nandini nodded and aman took her to manik's cabin.

As they reached infront of the cabin aman went back and nandini knocked the door.

From inside manik said.

Man: aman I told you na don't disturb me today I don't want to meet anyone so just go.

Nandini sighed and opened the door and saw manik sitting on his chair leaning back with closed eyes.

She went behind him and start pressing his shoulders. Manik relaxed and smiled faintly recognising the touche.

He hold her hand and pulled her on his lap and hugged her tightly.

Nandini ruffled his hair and he closed his eyes.

Nan (still ruffling his hair): mujhe bataya kyu nahi aaj maa ki barsi hai?

Manik's hold on her tightened.

There was silence for sometime but sensing something wet on her chest she saw downward and saw tears in manik's eyes.

Her heart pained seeing him cry. Nandini let him cry as she knows he needed this but his sobs were getting worse so she broke the hug and cupped his face.

Nan: shh manik shh bas aise rote nahi hai.

Man (with slight tears): why did she left me nandini am I such a bad son that she left me.

Nandini nodded in no and cupped his face.

Nan: shh mera manik is world's best son hmm. And you know maa won't be happy na to see his manu like this. You want maa to get sad. (He nodded in no like a child)

She made him understand like she was telling a child.

Nan: toh bas aab rona nahi hai and today we will face everything together hm.

Manik nodded.

Man: thankyou

Nan: aur woh kisliye?

Man: for coming in my life.

Nan: ok thankyou accepted but ek shart par.

Man: kya

Nan: manik today I arranged a puja for maa at home please come there.

Man: nandini I.. I ca... can't main...

Nandini seeing him avoiding eye contact hold his face in her hands.

Nan: I know manik it's very difficult for you but for maa you can do this right don't run away manik face it you can't always hide your pain right. I will not force you manik but just remember for maa.

Saying this she stood up from his lap and went from there leaving manik in deep thoughts.
