{Chapter 1 : The Padosi War}

The sun had barely risen over the small but lively neighborhood, yet chaos had already erupted. Mehra Sweets, the famous sweet shop run by Sidharth's father, Mr. Raj Mehra, stood proudly on one side of the street. Opposite it, Gill Florist, the equally popular bouquet shop owned by Shehnaaz's father, Mr. Balbir Gill, bloomed with colors and fragrances.

But instead of celebrating their success as neighboring businesses, these two families were sworn enemies.

Why? Koi nahi jaanta!

Some say it all started when Raj Mehra dog, Laddoo, peed on Balbir Gill best selling roses. Some say it was because Balbir once sent Raj kaale gulab as a joke, and Raj took it as "nazar lagane wali harkat." Whatever the reason, one thing was sure their fights were more famous than their shops.

And today was no different.

At 6:30 AM sharp, the usual neighborhood alarm rang, not a clock, not the azaan, not even the newspaper waala cycle bell.

Nope.

It was Raj Mehra vs. Balbir Gill Round No. 742.

It all started when a box of gulab jamuns mysteriously ended up at the entrance of Gill Florist. Balbir Gill, noticing the box near his shop, turned red with anger.

Balbir shouted, "Oye Raj Mehra! Yeh teri dukaan ka bakwas gulab jamun mere phoolon ke paas kya kar raha hai? Mere gulabo ki izzat mitti me mila raha hai!"

Raj Mehra smirked, crossing his arms. "Arey toh kya ho gaya? Gulab jamun hai, tere sadhe hue phool nahi."

Balbir glared. "Oye tere gulab jamun se toh mere phoolon ki khushboo bhi marr rahi hai! Tere dukan ki mithai toh diabetes ka ghar hai!"

Raj shot back, "Aur teri dukan? Tere phool toh itne bekaar hai ki shaadiyon me bhi log plastic wale mangwate hain!"

Their voices echoed down the street, Raj turned to his son, Sidharth, who was standing at the doorway, half asleep, scratching his head. "Oye, Sidharth! Yeh dabba kisne feka?"

Sidharth yawned and shrugged. "Papa, subah subah yeh detective wala case mat dijiye na."

Balbir crossed his arms. "Aur ye tera beta bhi na… so ke aese bahar aata hai jaise raat ko koyele ke khagan me kaam karke aaya ho!"

Sidharth sighed. "Uncle, main aapke phoolo ki khushboo ke bina so nahi pata, isiliye neend poori nahi hoti!"

Balbir smirked, but then suddenly realized "Oye oye! Tera dimaag bohot tez chal raha hai! Chup kar!"

Raj cut in. "Tu mere bete pe mat chillaa Apni beti ko dekha hai kabhi? Din bhar Instagram pe reel, reel, reel karti rehti hai!"

At that exact moment, Shehnaaz Gill walked out of her house, looking like she just woke up from a dream where she won an Oscar.

She stretched and yawned, completely unaware of the fight happening outside. "Kya hua subah subah?"

Her eyes landed on Sidharth, and for a second, she forgot their secret deal. But then, as if remembering, she immediately switched to drama mode.

Shehnaaz pointed a finger at Sidharth and said angrily, "Tu idhar kya kar raha hai? Tera dukan sambhal"

Sidharth rolled his eyes. "Tu apni dukan sambhal! Mujhse mat baat kar"

Shehnaaz crossed her arms. "Mujhse baat karne ka shauk hai tujhe?"

Sidharth scoffed. "Haan, bohot bada shauk hai! Tujhse baat karne se achha main road roller ke neeche aa jaun!"

Shehnaaz faked a gasp. "Toh jaa na!"

Sidharth snapped, "Abey tu ja na!"

Shehnaaz shouted, "Hathh" and turned around dramatically only to trip on a flower pot and almost fall.

Sidharth instinctively reached out and caught her before she hit the ground.

For a moment, their eyes locked.

Shehnaaz whispered, "Chhod mujhe papa log dekh rahe hai!"

Sidharth smirked, "Itna bhi desperate mat ho meri baahon me girne ke liye."

Shehnaaz glared at him. "Agar main yaha sabke saamne tujhe kiss kar lun toh?"

Sidharth's eyes widened. "Oye pagal hai kya?"

Shehnaaz smirked. "Haan, sirf tere liye!"

Before he could reply, both their fathers fought loudly.

Raj Mehra said, "Apne sade hue phool apne pass hi rakh konsa unme se khushboo aati hai."

Balbir nodded. "Kabhi apni mithai khai hai? Are mare hue insaan ko khila do to uth kar gaali dega aur phir mar jayega."

Shehnaaz and Sidharth immediately jumped apart, pretending to look disgusted.

Shehnaaz scowled, "Chi! Dur reh merese halwai kahi ka."

Sidharth scoffed, "Tujhse toh main waise bhi durr rehta hoon samjhi and don't underestimate the power of a co-"

"Halwai." Shehnaaz interrupted him and give him a tight lip smile.

"Aai badi phool wali kabhi apni shaqal dekhi hai gulab jesi hai bilkul." Sidharth smirked.

Shehnaaz give him back. "Apni baatein suni hai rasgulle jesi hai bilkul."

Both their fathers was nodded  completely missing the way their children were secretly blushing and compliment eachother.

Later that evening, after all the public fighting was done, Shehnaaz sneaked out of her house and slipped behind Mehra Sweets, where Sidharth was already waiting.

As soon as she reached him, he grabbed her hand and pulled her close.

Sidharth whispered, "Bohot gussa dikhaya subah?"

Shehnaaz pouted. "Aur tu bhi toh bohot attitude maar raha tha!"

Sidharth smirked. "Maza toh aa raha tha na?"

Shehnaaz playfully hit his chest. "Mujhe nahi, bas tujhe maza aa raha tha!"

Sidharth wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her even closer. "Waise tu jab gusse me hoti hai, aur bhi cute lagti hai."

Shehnaaz blushed. "Jhooth mat bol!"

Sidharth leaned in and whispered near her ear, "Sach bol raha hoon, baby."

Shehnaaz melted for a second, but then suddenly pushed him away. "Bas bas! Mujhe jaana hai ab kisi ne dekh liya to bawal ho jayega."

Sidharth raised an eyebrow. "Oh, abhi toh aayi hai"

Shehnaaz giggled. "Agar mujhe pakad liya gaya na, toh shaadi kisi aur se karni padegi!"

Sidharth frowned. "Matlab?"

Shehnaaz smirked. "Meri shaadi kisi aur se pakki ho gayi na toh? Phir dekhna!"

Sidharth pulled her back and held her tightly. "Mere alawa kisi aur se shaadi karne ka socha bhi toh."

Shehnaaz cut him off, laughing. "Toh kya karega?"

Sidharth grinned. "Bhaga le jaunga!"

Shehnaaz gasped. "Oye!"

Sidharth chuckled and kissed her forehead. "Tere bina nahi jee sakta, samjhi?"

Shehnaaz smiled softly, resting her head on his chest. "Main bhi."

"I love you." He kissed her head.

"I love you too." She kissed his chest.

As they stood there in their secret world, oblivious to the upcoming chaos their families were about to create, neither of them knew that the biggest twist of their lives was just around the corner...

The mohalla was still recovering from the Mehra vs. Gill war of the morning, but inside their homes, a totally different war was happening, the war of hidden love stories!

While Sidharth and Shehnaaz were busy pretending to hate each other outside and romancing in secret, they were not the only ones with a secret relationship.

Because in the same neighborhood, two more pyaar ke bhooke premi were struggling to hide their relationships, Ankit & Priyanka, and Kartik & Naira.

And in a city miles away, one long distance couple, Rishi & Dimple, was facing their own set of struggles.

-----------

In a cozy little café, Ankit and Priyanka sat at their usual table in a hidden corner.

Priyanka tapped her nails on the table, looking worried. "Mummy Papa kabhi nahi maanenge, Ankit. Tujhe toh pata hai na?"

Ankit smile nervously. "Haan, pata hai. Tere papa mujhe dekhte hi aise expression dete hain jaise main salesman hoon jo zabardasti credit card bechne aaya ho!"

Priyanka sighed. "Bas religion ka issue hai na… Christian Punjabi love story, mummy papa ke liye mission impossible jaisa hai!"

Ankit replied. "Toh kya karu? Shadi ke liye khudh ko punjabi bana lu taaki meri parents mujhe ghar se beghar kar de."

Priyanka giggled, but then turned serious. "Sach bol, agar mummy papa na maane toh?"

Ankit held her hand. "Toh tujhe uthake le jaunga"

Priyanka gasped. "Oye, Sidharth ki tarah mat ban"

Ankit laughed. "Arey waise bhi shaadi toh karni hai na? Aur mujhe teri dulha banne ki training shuru karni padegi."

Priyanka rolled her eyes. "Pehle mummy papa ka interview pass kar"

Ankit bang his head on the table. "Kya karuuuuu main."

Meanwhile, in another restaurant, Kartik and Naira sat across from each other.

Naira tapped her fingers on the table. "Tujhe lagta hai hum kab tak aese chhup chhup ke mil sakte hain?"

Kartik sighed. "Jab tak mera orthodox parivaar mujhe 1980s ke zamane ka pati banane se rokh nahi deta."

Naira laughed. "Tere ghar me ladkiyan modeling karein toh paap hota hai"

Kartik groaned. "Pata nahi kab yeh soch badlegi main to dukhi ho gaya hu ek se ek gaw ki ladki ka rishta laa rahe hai."

Just then, Shehnaaz walked in, holding a shopping bag.

Shehnaaz gasped dramatically. "Oh my God! Tum dono yaha??"

Kartik choked on his drink. "Yeh bhi yahi aani thi?"

Naira quickly recovered. "Arre bas aise hi… casual dinner!"

"Tu yaha kiu aai? Koi kaam waam nahi hai ya pure din ghumti hai bass." Kartik said angrily.

"Main Ghumu, Firu, Nachu, Gao, Hasu, Khelu, Bahar Jao, Akeli Jao, Kisi Aur Ke saath jao, jab jao, jaise bhi jao, Aapko kya?" Shehnaaz said dramatically.

Naira laughter loudly. "Mast bola."

"Tu thodi pagal hai ye doubt tha aaj pura clear ho gaya." Kartik rolled his eyes.

"Chal chal ave." Shehnaaz rolled her eyes and sat beside Naira.

----------

Miles away, Rishi and Dimple were on a late night video call.

Dimple pouted. "Mujhe teri yaad aati hai, stupid"

Rishi sighed. "Mujhe bhi, Har baar jab mohalle ka drama dekhta hoon, tab aur yaad aati hai"

Dimple giggled. "Haan, waise bhi waha sirf fights hoti hain na"

Rishi groaned. "Sahi me izzat hi nahi chhordi hamare parents ne hamare liye. Wo chhord kab milenge hum? Long distance me sabse badi pata hai problem kya hai?"

Dimple raised an eyebrow. "Kya?"

Rishi dramatically held his chest. "Hug bhi virtual dena padta hai"

Dimple laughed. "Acha, ab rona band kar aur jaldi milne ka plan bana"

Rishi smiled. "Tu bas date fix kar, main tere ghar aaunga daure daure."

Dimple gasped. "Oye Romeo! Mere papa laddoo khila khila kar tera muh band kar denge phir puchenge ki kiu aaya."

Rishi grinned. "Hamare baapo ka alag chakkar hai aur maao ka to pucho hi mat."

Dimple burst out laughing. But inside, they both wished they could be together soon.

If anyone thought Raj Mehra and Balbir Gills daily fights were the most dramatic thing in the neighborhood, they clearly had not met their wives.

Because if the Mehra-Gill fathers' rivalry was built on business competition, their mothers' war was built on ego, fashion, and "Kaun Zyada Classy Hai" ka issue!

And today, the battleground was none other than Radha Saree Emporium.

The shop was bustling with customers, but the real action was happening in one corner, where Simran Mehra (Sidharth's mom) and Kulwant Gill (Shehnaaz's mom) were standing in front of a counter, both gripping onto the same saree like it was the Kohinoor diamond.

It was a royal blue silk saree with golden embroidery elegant, classy, and most importantly… the last piece available.

Kulwant tightened her grip and glared. "Yeh saree pehle maine dekhi thi"

Simran scoffed. "Toh kya hua? Pehle maine haath lagaya"

Kulwant snapped, "Haath lagane se koi cheez teri nahi hoti! Warna tere pati kab ka phool wale ban chuke hote kiuki unki mithai to wese bhi koi nahi khata."

Simran gasped. "Oh hello! Mithai ki dukan toh mohalle ki jaan hai! Tere murjhaaye hue phoolon ki tarah nahi"

The shopkeeper, Ramesh bhai, looked like he was witnessing Mahabharat 2.0 inside his shop.

Ramesh said nervously, "Dono madam plz shanti se baat kijiye aur bhi customers---"

Kulwant cut him off. "Shanti tab hogi jab yeh saree MERE paas hogi"

Simran smirked. "Sapna dekhna achi baat hai, par sapna poora hoga nahi"

And then… the bidding war began.

Kulwant said firmly, "Bhai saab, main 10,000 dungi, bas mujhe de do"

Simran raised an eyebrow. "15,000 Chal beta, leke aa bill"

Kulwant jaw dropped. "15,000 ek saree ke? Acha, toh chalo 20,000"

Simran scoffed. "25,000"

The shopkeeper eyes sparkled with pure business joy.

Ramesh grinned. "Wah, aaj toh meri dukan ka lucky din hai"

Kulwant smirked. "Main 30 000 dene ko tayar hoon"

Simran gasped. "Had hai! Saree khareed rahi hai ya Taj Mahal?"

Kulwant said smugly, "Taj Mahal bhi kharid leti, par woh pyaar ki nishani hai, nafrat ki nahi"

Simran rolled her eyes. "Mithai toh pyaar ki nishani hai, wo to tu kabhi kharidegi nahi"

Kulwant shot back, "Mujhe mithai ka shauk nahi hai"

Simran smirked. "Isiliye toh tere ghar me koi mithaas nahi hai!"

Both women glared at each other like two wrestlers in a WWE match.

Meanwhile, outside the shop, Sidharth and Shehnaaz had just arrived.

Sidharth and Shehnaaz were walking by when they heard their mothers voices booming from inside.

Sidharth sighed, "Lagta hai mummy kisi bechare dukandaar ki jaan lene wali hai."

Shehnaaz groaned, "Meri mummy bhi waisa hi mood leke ayi hai."

They peeked inside and saw their mothers pulling the saree in opposite directions.

Shehnaaz whispered, "Bhai, yeh toh asli tug of war chal raha hai. Jo thodi bohot izzat mohalle me bachi hai shayad wo bhi aaj mitthi mein mil jayegi."

Sidharth muttered, "Agar bechari saree bol sakti, toh yeh dono ke muh pe chilla ke keh deti, 'MUJHE CHHOR DO, KAMINO!'"

Shehnaaz stifled a laugh but then noticed the shopkeeper looking pale as a ghost.

Shehnaaz said urgently, "Agar humne kuch nahi kiya toh Ramesh bhai dukaan band karke Himalaya bhag jayenge."

"Hathh pagal unki aakhein dekh jis tarha hamari maaye paise badha rahi hai na ye Himalaya nahi Dubai jayenge Sidha."

Sidharth took a deep breath and stepped forward.

Sidharth said sternly, "Maa, aunty yeh kya ho raha hai?"

Simran snapped, "Dikhta nahi? Saree ki ladai chal rahi hai!"

Shehnaaz folded her arms. "Aunty, aapko itni zaroorat hai toh aap rakh lo"

Kulwant said dramatically, "Main kyu doon? Yeh Gill khandan ki izzat ka sawaal hai"

Simran shot back, "Aur yeh Mehra parivaar ka pride hai"

Sidharth groaned, "Fine! Main dono ko ek ek saree gift kar raha hoon! Jo chahti ho, le lo, bas ghar chalo"

Both women immediately turned soft and smiled.

Simran beamed, "Beta, tu kitna acha hai"

Kulwant grinned, "Shehnaaz, tujhe bhi Sidharth se seekhna chahiye"

Sidharth and Shehnaaz exchanged knowing looks if only their mothers knew the real truth.

As Simran and Kulwant happily picked different sarees and left, Ramesh bhai collapsed onto his chair, exhausted.

Ramesh muttered to himself, "Aaj toh main maut ke muh se bacha hoon"

Sidharth smirked, "Waise aapko profit bohot achha hua na?"

Ramesh nodded, "Haan, magar main aaj se har saree ka stock zyada rakhunga."

Shehnaaz laughed. "Bas bhaiya, agli baar dulhan ka lehenga hum aapke yaha se lenge."

Hearing this Ramesh bhai ka mooh ka rang udh gaya.

Ramesh stammered, "Mujhe dukaan bechni padegi"

Sidharth and Shehnaaz laughed and walked out together, unaware that in just a few days, the real chaos was about to begin…

Because their own weddings were being planned… just not with each other!

Because at this exact moment, in two separate households:

Raj Mehra was smiling at his wife. "Sidharth ka rishta pakka ho gaya"

Balbir Gill was telling his wife. "Shehnaaz ki shaadi fix kar di"

And both families unknowingly booked the SAME wedding palace.

The biggest wedding disaster of the century was about to begin.
