Dhriti's POV

I reached my office the next day a bit early. I was today feeling nervous like something bad is gonna happen today. I calmed myself and entered my cabin. Like always today also there was a bouquet with a note on my table. I smiled looking at them and caressed the flowers. Yesterday I wanted to ask Dhruv about these but forgot.

Yesterday was wonderful. The bond he shares with his parents and family was envious. Their love was clearly visible even when Sakshi mam was scolding him. His antics when he was forced to have soup and when he had his favourites in dinner, such a kiddo. 😂

His family was really welcoming and they made sure I am comfortable. Sakshi mam oh...... sorry Sakshi aunt said or I should say ordered me not to address her and her husband as mam and sir.

I heard a hard knock making me come out of my dreamland. I said the person to come in. Stella entered with a file.

"Mam these are the blueprints which you asked.. Though I have already checked them it would be better if you go through them once.  She handed me that file and turned to go.

" Miss Stella care to explain what did you say to my sister yesterday??" I asked her.

She gulped and stammered
"Wo mam.... "

"Yes.. I am all ears. What mam??" I asked folding my hands in the front of my chest.

"Mam I didn't tell her anything. She called me to know where you were going "  She spoke nervously.

"Drop with this " mam" thing and tell me why did you tell her that I am going to Dhruv's home. Now she is assuming some baseless stuff in her mind" I spoke in irritation.

"Mam..." She started speaking but stopped seeing my glare.

"Dhriti I am being honest here. I didn't tell anything. Swati dii called me to know about your whereabouts. I told her that you are going to a client's home. She assumed everything herself." Stella spoke.

"Fine.. But never repeat it. I am warning you.. " I said sternly

"Why?? Are you today going again?" She smirked.😏

This girl 🙄😑
Why I have all the idiots in my life?? I complained to god.

"Sorry to break your hope dear today I have to go to our office. Sir has called me there" I informed and opened the file.

"I am coming along right?? " She asked.

"No, you have to handle things here" I said looking at the designs. She nodded in okay.

"Are you sure you have checked them?? These are stupid. This is not a drawing competition. It seems like a kid has drawn them.. There is not any space management at all.
I very clearly told you that we need to save some space but there is no space left. What has happened to you ?? What were you thinking while checking these designs?? "  I said banging the file on the table.

"Woh... I... I checked them" She stammered.

"Really?? Also, I want the person who made this design in front of me right now" I told her sternly.

"Mam... She is just a fresher.. Please don't scold her. I am handling na. Please don't show her your this beast mode." She requested.

"I want her in front of me right now.." She nodded and went outside.

Later a girl came into my cabin. She was looking at the floor and was shivering. I asked her to have a seat.
I scolded her for those blueprints. Her eyes got watered and she was trembling.

I took a breath and then told her about the problems and how to improve them.
Everyone thinks that I overreact and not friendly but this is how I am. I work for professionalism.

I gave her a glass of water. She took it with trembling hands.
"Look you have that talent.. But you need to focus. You need to think practically before planning to design something. Alright??
Now I want a fresh design from you within 24 hrs. Did you get it??"
I said sternly. She nodded and went outside.

I have to go to my office today. I came out and saw Stella was confronting that new fresher. That girl is too much innocent for this world. This way the world won't let her live. Stella passed me a helpless yet angry look.

"The clocking is ticking. 23 hrs are left so it would be better if you focus on your work rather than goofing around." I said to that girl and she ran away from there. Stella gave me 'Are you serious look?' and went behind that girl.

I sat in my car and drove towards my apartment. I took the files and finally drove towards the office. I was on the way when I noted that a car is following me.

I deliberately took a left turn and then again came back on the original route. The car was still following. I gulped sensing that something is really wrong here. I start getting the same nervousness and anxiety which I was feeling in the morning. I searched for pepper spray in the dashboard but didn't find any. I banged the steering wheel. I increased the speed and started searching for the way to the highway or any busy road. I looked in the rearview mirror,  the car which was following me was not in sight.

I sighed in relief when all of sudden a car came from the front.
Oh shit....

I applied the brakes and took a heavy breath. I noticed that it was the same car which was following me.  I look in the rearview mirror and was going to reverse my car when I saw another car was parked there stopping my way.

Tears of helplessness blocked my view. I tried to calm myself. I looked in my purse for my phone. There was no network in that area. I threw my phone somewhere in the backside.

A hard knock came on the window of my side. I looked at the person in fear. He was standing with his back on my side.  I immediately locked my car. My eyes went to the spare pepper spray kept in the purse.

I have to do this... I  have to do this. I carefully rolled down the window. That person turned his face to my side and I sprayed pepper spray directly in his eyes. He screamed in pain and started rubbing his eyes. I used the opportunity and started my car. I tried to accelerate my car but it started giving jerks. I came out of it and saw that the tyre was flat.

I picked pepper spray and started running in the opposite direction. There was not anyone passing by from whom I could ask for any help. Someone pulled me with my right arm and threw me on the road. I looked at the person and got numb.

"YOU.....??"

Third person's POV

Stella was working with their team in Dhruv's office when she received a call from their boss whom Dhriti was supposed to meet. Stella found it weird as he usually contacts Dhriti directly not her furthermore, Dhriti was there with him then why is he calling her.

She picked the call and greeted him.
"Stella.. Where is Dhriti?? Can you please give your phone to her as I am trying for ages but it is not getting connected" He said?

Stella got shocked and worried at the same time. Dhriti has left for office a few hours ago... If she has not reached there, then where is she??

"Sir, Dhriti mam had already left to meet you a few hours ago. " She answered him.

"But she is not here" He replied.

"But how this is possible? Her phone is also not connecting. She is highly professional. She will not leave a meeting for any random thing"  Stella got worried.

"That's what I am thinking. Don't worry, I will ask about her from the watchman whether he has seen her entering or not. You check your office premises. Try connecting her phone again and contact her family." He said and cut the call.

Stella got tensed and looking at her tensed face Aman came to her.

"What happened??" Aman asked.

"Dhriti mam is missing" She responded.

"What??" He asked shockingly. Stella nodded and narrated the whole story.

Don't worry. Let's try calling her again. They tried her number but it was out of the network coverage area.

"I will call her family" Stella said.
"I will call Dhruv sir. He might help." Aman said at the same time and nodded at her.

"Dhruv....ahh.. Wo..." Aman called Dhruv.

"What happened?? Why are you stammering?? " Dhruv asked.

"Woh.. Dhriti... Dhriti ahh..
She has gone missing" Aman revealed.

"What??" Dhruv shouted.
Aman narrated to him the whole incident.

"I am sending you an address within 30 mins.. Meet me there" Dhruv said and cut the call.

On the other hand, Stella also called on Swati's number , "Swati dii....."

"What happened Stella.. Why are sounding worried.." Swati asked.

Atharva who had also come to her cabin to discuss something got alert. He took the phone from Swati and put it on speaker mode.

"Dii I don't know what happened and how...... Dhriti mam is missing"  Stella said in one go.

Swati got shocked. She looked at Atharva. Atharva was also shocked and hell worried but he stayed calm.

"What??  How??" Atharva managed to ask with difficulty.

"Mam had left from our work site for the office a few hours ago... But she never reached there... Also, her phone is out of coverage area...." She narrated.

Atharva asked her to track the last location of Dhriti's phone and send her that address.

"Atharva... History is repeating.. Where is my sister?? I want her back safe.. Please 🙏🙏"
Swati started crying.

Atharva handled Swati with difficulty and took her home. His parents were also numb to hear about the news and her little niece was also scared seeing everyone tensed. He asked his dad to handle the ladies and he went to the address sent by Stella.

Atharva reached the address and saw Stella was also there waiting for him along with the two other men. There were also a group of men standing at a distance.

"Atharva sir, I am Dhruv and this is my PA man. And that is my security team. They will help us to find Dhriti." Dhruv said.

Atharva shook his hand with him.

"We will divide into 4 teams and search for her. Her phone was last tracked in this way... This way is very deserted. I am damn sure someone was following her. " Atharva said.

All three of them looked at him confused. "How can you be so sure?? This is the shortcut, it might be possible that she was in a hurry so she took this way" Dhruv said as a matter of fact.

"No, she can't.... It doesn't matter this is shortcut... She is scared of going to deserted roads and areas that too alone. " Atharva said.

"Okay.. Let's get divided into 2 teams.. Atharva sir you come with me and Stella you go with Aman and the rest of you guys start from the other end of this road which opens on the highway" Dhruv said.

"No need of going to the other end... It will waste a lot of time.. Her friends are coming from that way.. If they find her or something related to her, they will contact us." Atharva said.

They went in the directions as decided earlier. Dhruv's team also started searching for Dhriti. His father and brother were also keeping a tap on her phone in the hope of getting it activated.

Dhruv and Atharva were walking o the same direction where Dhriti went. They kept walking checking here and there and even shouting her name in case she can hear them.

               After walking a few kilometres they saw a car at a distance. They increased their pace and came close to a car. It was Dhriti's car. They saw that the tyre was flat and car was unlocked.

They looked at each other and Dhruv opened the door and saw that her purse was open and the stuff was messed up. They shared a worried look. Dhruv saw her phone lying at the backseat. He picked it up and gave to Atharva.

"Her car is completely fine except that tyre it means she is okay too" Dhruv sighed in relief.

"No.. I don't think so that she has gone missing just because of flat tyre" Atharva said and went to the other side of road.

He picked up a bottle of pepper spray and showed it to Dhruv...
"It belongs to Dhriti.."

They saw a car approaching them from other side. The car stopped at a distance and a lady came running to them..

"Jiju , Dhriti in the car.. We found her fainted"
