Sharon gets off work and walks tiredly to Penny's room. She had requested Sharon to do so on her last check up. After knocking Sharon opens the door and finds the same people as yesterday plus a new one.

"Come in, please," Penny says waving the young woman over. "You already know every one here except Janice. Janice is the notary and will make sure it's all legal." Penny nudges Tristan.

"Ah, yes, if after looking over everything and it looks correct, I have the marriage license here. After I pay the medical bill for your brother we can come back and sign the license. Then the lawyers can file it along with the anything else that needs to be done. You can move into my house tonight."

"Hold on there, Mr. Townsend. That's moving a bit fast don't you think?"

"Miss Carmichael, Sharon, the stocks need to be in my name. The current CEO is wanting to take a sabbatical for health reasons and might just retire at the end of the sabbatical. If I have the voting stocks at that time then I can vote myself into the position of CEO. The sooner this is done the better."

"It will be alright, Sharon, Tristan assures me that he's already spoken to his staff about you and they have a room set up for you."

"Uh huh, what about my apartment? I haven't even had time to tell the landlord that I'll be moving forget about packing."

Penny smiles and motions to her lawyer. "This is part of my wedding present to you."

Sharon takes the envelope from the lawyer and pulls out the papers. She looks at them more than a little confused. The lawyer has mercy on her and explains, "They are the deed and the information on the rents for the apartment complex you live in. It is now yours to do with as you see fit as long as you enter this marriage with the intention of honoring all the codicils."

"Of course I plan on honoring them all." Sharon says looking at the fine print until she comes to the current balance for the complex. She looks up at Penny and blinks. "That can't be right."

"It is, I only use the rent money to fix the place up and make upgrades as possible."

"You've been my landlord all this time?" Sharon says still shocked at the amount she'll be receiving.

"Yeah, came as a bit of a shock to me as well. I had no idea you were one of the leasees. I have a management company who takes care of things. You might consider keeping them on, I've found they do a decent job. But you are in your rights to make changes as you see fit of course."

"No, no, I have no quarrel with the management company. They are good about making repairs as they are called in." Sharon says faintly.

"Sharon? Are you ready to watch me pay for your brother's medical bills now?"

"What? Oh, yes of course, please come with me. I'm not sure if you know the way or not."

"I've never had the need to do so, so please lead on."

Sharon is still trying to process everything that's happened since she got off work. It's all been so fast that it's hard for her to grasp.

"Won't your mother be joining us to watch you get married?"

Tristan gives a harsh laugh, "No, mother says that until she meets and finds the female acceptable then she won't consider me married. She was rather upset that Angelina broke up with me. She is actually from a slightly higher society than what we are currently at and it would prove advantageous for us to marry into that family."

"I am sorry that you recently lost your girlfriend and have to make do with me."

Tristan shrugs away her words. "One female is as good as another. You'll do."

Sharon gives Tristan a rather nasty smirk, "But will she think that I will do? If she doesn't you are required by the contract to make sure that she treats me with respect. Are you prepared to do that?"

Sharon rather thinks he won't, but she is giving him the benefit of the doubt.

"I will stand by the contract and fulfill it completely from my end."

"Great, then the next three years should flow rather smoothly. By the way, how are you giving me the allowance?"

"I've had my mother set up a bank account for you that will have the money directly deposited each month on the first."

Sharon hits the the stop elevator button. "Oh, hell no. I will not have her as a signer on the account. If it's her signature then she'll be able to take out the money and I won't be able to touch it. After everything is dealt with I'll need you to take me to the DMV to get my license updated to the new address, which I still don't even know, and then to the bank to have a new account made that doesn't allow any one else access."

"Miss Carmichael," Tristan says shocked and a little nonplussed at her words, "are you saying you think my mother would steal from you?"

"I think every one would steal from me, I'm paranoid that way. I learned a long time ago that even the most trusted can't be trusted around money. I don't know your mother and from what I've heard she won't like me. She will do what she can to make my life impossible, so yeah, I think she'll steal from me."

"I can assure you that she won't touch the money."

"Words are cheap, Tristan. Actions are what counts in life. I don't know you much more than I know your mother. I want a new account with me being the only signer on said account. If you aren't willing to do that little thing then I know that you have no intentions of following through with any of the contract. So what will it be? We continue on to the accounts payable office then get married or we just forget the whole damn mess and I go see my brother?"

Sharon can actually hear Tristan grinding his molars as he tries to calm himself down. "I am a busy man, Sharon, I don't have time to bother with those things today."

Sharon nods and pushes for the floor they were just on, "You are, but I am also an important part of this. I have no problem being in debt for the rest of my life and not going through this inconvenient marriage. I'll just sign the apartment complex back over to Penny and go down to see my brother. I'm sure that you will have no trouble finding one of the other nurses willing to sign up to marry you and they will likely be much less of a pain in the ass about the whole deal."

"No, don't. One thing my grandmother does, she is very thorough in checking things out. If she says that you are the best candidate then you are indeed the best candidate. After I pay the medical bill we can then be married and then take a trip to the bank."

Sharon shakes her head. "The bank will require photo ID. I will need the ID from the DMV showing my new address and name."

Tristan takes a deep breath and holds it for a bit before letting it out slowly. "Very well, we'll take a trip to the DMV first then the bank."

Sharon nods in compliance then once more pushes the button for the bills payable department.

Once there Tristan pays not only for the current bill in its entirety but also for the testing that still is required by the state. He then has any further bills sent to his accounting firm so that he will pay them. After giving the staff the information they make their way back to Penny's room.

"Thank you, Tristan." Sharon says as Tristan hands her the receipt for the bill.

"You are most welcome. Make sure you keep that for at least a year to make sure that they don't charge you again for your brother's care."

"Then shouldn't you take it? After all it's your accounting firm that will be paying for any future bills."

Tristan shakes his head, "I've already sent a photo of the receipt to my accountant. He'll make sure that they won't over charge you or me."

They walk the rest of the way to Penny's room. Sharon, although she has many misgivings about the whole thing follows through with the marriage. As she signs the marriage license she just hopes that she doing the right thing.
