Sharon walks out of the emergency room cubicle to find Darrin still there. "Why are you still here? I already told you I want nothing more to do with you or any of the other Northrups."

"Sharon, please let me explain-" Sharon cuts him off.

"I already told you that you DO NOT have permission to call me by my first name. If you can't give me the decency to respect my boundaries you can get the hell out of my life. The last thing I need is to have more disrespect after the three years of hell I've lived."

"Forgive me, what name would you like for me to call you by?" He didn't think she would like to have him call her Mrs. Townsend since she's divorcing her husband today.

"Call me by my maiden name. It was good enough for my mother, it's good enough for me."

"Very well, Ms. Carmichael, would you please allow me to explain?"

Sharon is looking around the lobby. "Where are my things?"

"I've had them sent over to our hotel, the penthouse suite."

Sharon is furious at this, "Why in the hell would you do that?"

"Well since you just left your residence of three years, I thought you might need a place to stay."

Sharon takes deep calming breaths and calms down. "That was very thoughtful of you Mr. Northrup, but I actually own an apartment complex and have an apartment already set up there." She's had extensive upgrades done to it as money became available and wouldn't be recognizable as the same run down apartment it was when she first married Tristan.

"Forgive me, I didn't know. If you give me the address I'll have them taken there immediately."

"Just have them taken to the managers office. I'll let him know to expect them." Sharon says then gives the address. While Darrin makes his calls she makes hers. Only then does she take a look at the time.

"If you want to explain you'll have to give me the condensed version as I make my way to my soon to be ex husbands office. I have some papers waiting to be signed that I have been wanting to sign for three years now."

Darrin follows quickly but has a hard time keeping up with his sister.

Once they are settled in the car Darrin had waiting he starts. "We haven't been in your life, not because we didn't want to but because our father wouldn't let us." Darrin backs up and starts again.

"A little more than twenty-eight years ago mother received news that her parents were killed but her baby brother survived. He was just four years old at the time. Mother refused to allow him to be put in foster care and wanted to adopt him and raise him as her child.

"Father refused and told her that if she did that he would divorce her and she would lose everything. He thought that would be the end of the argument. He was right, but not in the way he thought. Mother refused to say another word to him. She turned to each of us, she hugged us, kissed us and told us that she would always love us. She told us that she knows that our father would make sure that we would be well taken care of, but her baby brother had no one else but her. Since our father refused to let her bring her brother here that she has no choice but to leave and take care of him and leave us. She wanted us to be very sure that we understood that this was in no way our fault and the choice she has to make is one that's breaking her heart, but it's the only one she could make.

"Father and mother were already having troubles in the marriage. Father was more than a little bit of a bully and mother was tired of his autocratic bullshit. I don't think father wanted to believe that she would walk away from the life of luxury and her children and him of course to take care of one snot nosed kid."

Darrin is quick to speak before Sharon could say the hot words he could see getting ready to spill out. "Those were his words not mine. Shaun Carmichael was our uncle not our brother."

"Mother adopted him, didn't she?" Sharon demands.

Darrin sighs, "Yes, she did. You are correct in that way he was our brother, but he was first and foremost our uncle.

"Once father got over the shock of mother leaving with nothing but the clothes on her back he turned to us and informed us that we were never to speak to her again nor were we to ever meet the baby she was carrying."

"So he knew that she was pregnant with me?"

"Yes, he knew, but after mother left it was like she never existed. Us boys were just formed out of the aether. We had to hide photos of mother before he destroyed them all. Also many of her things we managed to save. Many of the servants helped us do so. They liked mother and didn't really like father.

"As time went on she managed to smuggle us messages at times. She still managed to make special school events if she found out about them in time. She made most of them. She would smuggle us a little something when she could, but it was difficult to do so. She managed to get us photos of you. We always asked about you when she managed to meet with one of us. So we heard about your milestones and we were all angry that we weren't able to see them ourselves. You were  a beautiful child and have grown into the promise of the child as an adult."

"Stick to the reason why I've never met you or seen you my entire life."

Darrin chuckles softly, "You definitely have father's temper, although I think it's tempered by mother's sense of fair play."

"You are wasting time."

"Right. Time moved on." Darrin stops and stares out the window.

"Yes, and it's still moving. Why don't you get to the part where you didn't go to mother's funeral?, or perhaps where you allowed Shaun to sacrifice his everything to keep me and send me to school. Best of all, why don't you tell me where the fuck were you and my other supposed brothers when I had to turn off the life support and deal with the only other person that loved me die? Where were you for his funeral? Why have you decided that now you want to be a part of my life?"

Sharon is all but yelling that last part before stopping and taking deep breaths. "Time's up, we are at my soon to be ex's office. Thanks for your help. Have a good life."

"Ms. Carmichael, please, let me stay and perhaps I'll be able to further assist you. I promise, I won't even speak unless you give me permission."

Sharon looks at him, "Why would you say that?"

Darrin smirks at her, "You are a Northrup whether you wish to acknowledge it or not. You have something nasty planned for Tristan Townsend and I would love to help in any way or just watch as you destroy him."

"What the fuck did he do to you to piss you off at him?"

"He treated you like shit and allowed that bitch to harm you."

Sharon shrugs, "Fine, you can watch but not interrupt."

"I wouldn't dream of it."
