|•Chapter 8•|

"What was the one thing I asked? The one thing!" Jake asked as he pushed Lo'ak into the Mauri and turning to face the 3 of us.

"Stay out of trouble." Lo'ak, Neteyam, and Tsìlpey murrmerd with their heads down.

"Stay out of trouble. Thats right." Jake replied back as he sighed.

"It was my fault." Neteyam said as he looked up and held out his hands.

"I dont think so. You gotta stop taking the heat for this knucklehead." Jake replied, shaking his head.

"Look Dad." Lo'ak said as Tsìlpey and Lo'ak looked up at the same time. "Ao'nung was picking on Kiri. He called her a freak. Then, he called Tsìlpey a Vrrtep, a demon."

Jake sighed as he put a hand on his forhead. "Lo'ak, Tsìlpey you have to apolgize to Ao'nung and his friends."

"What?" Lo'ak looked at him. "Tsìlpey shouldnt have to apolgize."

"Ao'nung is the chef's son, and Tsilpey put her knife up to him and his friends. Do you understand? I dont care how you do it. Just go make peace. Just go."

Lo'ak gave Tsìlpey a look as he turned around and walked out of the Mauri as Tsìlpey followed. In the distance we could see Ao'nung and his friends riding Ilu's towards the outside of the reef. We got into the water as we called out our Ilu's and got on. We raced out towards them.

As we approached Ao'nung and his friends who were in a circle, ilu sqeaked to announceand let others know that someone is coming. "Ah, what's tree boy and Vrrtep doing here?" Ao'nung asked as he rolled his eyes, he was carrying a crossbow with him.

"Im sorry I hit you." Lo'ak said trying not to grin. " So many times."

"And im sorry for cutting you with my knife and threatening to kill you. But you deserved it."
Tsìlpey added.

Ao'nung looked at his friends before looking at us. "Ah, we should we friends. Come hunting with us. Outside the reef. Its where the men hunt." Ao'nung said then quickly added. "And the women."

Ao'nung held out his hand for him to shake. "No way. We are not allowed." Lo'ak said.

Ao'nung scoffed as he pulled away his hand. "I must be asking the wrong brother. What about you Vrrtep? Are you going to come hunting outside the reef and not be scared like tree boy?"

"let's do it." Tsìlpey says.

"Ah!" Ao'nung yells out as he moves his ilu to dive down into the water as we followed. It was a long ride before we made it close to a rock, called the three brothers rock.

We dove down into the water following Ao'nung and his friends as we got to the ocean floor. Ao'nung signed to us that we should go first. Lo'ak swam in front of me as Tsìlpey swam behind him watching what he was doing so she could do the same thing. he had one of the crossbows Ao'nung and his friend had.

When Lo'ak caught site of a fish he held it up and shot at it. The fish swam for a moment before it didnt move as some blood came out. it was dead. Lo'ak looked around at me which Tsìlpey smiled. But his smiled dropped and when I looked back Ao'nung and his friends were gone. We quickly gathered the fish before heading up to the surface.

We called out ilu's as we got on and tried to look around for Ao'nung and his 3 friends. "Hey guys!" Lo'ak yelled out a few times. "Hey! Ao'nung! Come on, this isnt funny!"

We continued to look around and call out their names but no one showed up or answered. What they didnt know was the danger lurking below them. A huge fish jumped out of the water as it got the fin of Lo'ak's tail and Tsìlpey's as well. We slammed back into the water as we opened our eyes and looked aorund to see our Ilu's swimming off hurt. They should be okay. Tsìlpey hoped.

We started to swim away going in diffrent directions trying to find somewhere to hide. But Tsìlpey didnt have a good breath hold and was loosing air fast. Tsìlpey swammed to nearby coral as there was some space to hide, or to be safe away from the big fish she didnt know the name of. When she got behind the coral she didnt have anytime to react as the big fish was right behind her and it smashed into the coral turning it into peaces.

Tsìlpey turned around as she tried to swim faster and go towards the surface as she needed air. Badly. she swam more and more into the surface adn when she got to the top she gasped for air and then was puilled back under as a pain erupted from her ankle. The fish had its mouth around her ankle dragging her to the bottom. She screamed out in the water as all of the air bubbles left her mouth. She closed her mouth, as Tsìlpey could feel herself getting dizzy. The last thing she saw was another animal heading straight towards her, the last thing she thought of was that there was an animal coming to eat her.

Tsilpey slowly opened her eys as she could feel what she was on, it felt like a rock. Tsìlpey groaned as she turned over to her side. "Tsìlpey!" She could hear someone call out as she brought her head up to see Lo'ak at her side.

"Are you okay?" Lo'ak asked as he slowly helped her onto her feet.

"Where are we at?" Tsìlpey murmured as she looked around. Nothing look fimilar.

"I dont know where we are but i can tell you we are on a Tulkun." Lo'ak replied as air blew out from a hole next to us. Lo'ak covered his head with his hands. "gross!"

I looked aroumd as I looked at the Tulkun. Lo'ak went down next to the Tulkun eyes and Tsìlpey followed. Lo'ak introduced her, and they began to talk. Lo'ak and Tsìlpey played around with the Tulkun. They swam next to the Tulkun which Tsìlpey didn't know the name of.

They continued to do things with the Tulkun. We told stories about our lives. it went from day and night quickly and before Tsìlpey knew it, they were laying on top of the Tulkun staring up at the stars, pointing and telling stories. "You like looking at the stars?" Lo'ak asked. The Tulkun grunted and whistled. "You know, my dad came from a star." Lo'ak got up and went right next to the Tulkun's eye as he pointed up into the sky.

"That one right there." Lo'ak continued. he smiled. We turned a corner as we could hear yelling. Tsìlpey moved into a sitting position as she saw the Metkayina village coming up. There were warriors yipping as they yelled out their names. "Tsìlpey! Lo'ak!"

Lo'ak got up as he went over and grabbed Tsìlpey's hand. "Oh man, We are in trouble." The Tulkun moans as there was distance hotting. We slipped down into the water as Tsìlpey started to swim as Lo'ak said its goodbyes. "Go. I will see you again." Payakan whistles as Lo'ak got off and then dove into the ocean.

We swam towards the village until two warriors picked us up so we didnt have to swim that far. A horn blew as people yelled out. "The boy has returned! The girl has returned! Hurry! Tell the Sully family!"

There was murrmers as we got onto the platform and the warriors left. Tsìlpey was breathing heavily. She looked around to see if she saw the Sully family or Neteyam. But nothing so far. That was until Jake pushed through the crowd to see if it was us. When he made it to the front he paused and looked at us. He had an angry and scared impression on his face.

Ao'nung came into view with his parents at his side. Tsìlpey took out her knife as she pointed it at Ao'nung. "Do you have a death wish?!" She said as she started charging towards Ao'nung who backed up and away from Tsìlpey.

Jake stopped her before she could get to him. Neteyam emerged from the crowd as he jumped down by Jake. Neteyam pushed past Jake as wrapped his arm's around Tsìlpey giving her a hug.

"Are you okay?" Neteyam said as Tsìlpey nodded. Neteyam checked for any wounds as Jake did to Lo'ak before turning to the crowd and saying they were okay

"Lo'ak! Tsìlpey!" Neytiri came into veiw with the rest of the Sully children as she checked over Lo'ak before looking over Tsilpey, making sure her sons, and future mate was alright.

"I pray for the strength that I will not pluck the eyeballs out of my youngest son." Neytiri said before adding. "And you as well Tsìlpey." she faked scratching out an eye.

"No." Tonowari says as he pushed Ao'nung to the center. "My son knows better than to take him outside the reef. The blame is his." Tonowari has he pushed Ao'nung to kneel.

"Okay, let's go." Jake said not wanting to draw more attention to them.

"No." Lo'ak spoke up as Tsìlpey looked at him in confusion. "This is not Aonung's fault. This was my idea. Ao'nung tried to talk me out of it. Really."

"Alright, come on." Jake said as he pushed Lo'ak forward. We followed as Kiri and Tuk went off somewhere else.

"Dad, you told us to make friends with these kids. That's all I was trying to.." Lo'ak said as he looked at me.

"I dont want to hear it." Jake said and sighed. "You brought shame to this family."

"Jake-" Tsìlpey started beofre Jake gave her a look telling her that was enough.

"Can I go now?" Lo'ak asked.

"Any more trouble, I will put a knot in your tail. You read me?" Jake said sternly.

"Yes, sir. Lima Charlie." Lo'ak said as he turned and walked away. Jake turned to Neteyam and Tsìlpey.

"What happened to "keep an eye on your brother"?" Jake asked

"Sorry, sir." Neteyam said looking down as Tsìlpey took his hand. Jake scolded Neteyam before scolded Tsìlpey for going out past the reef. Jake then dismissed us. Neteyam and Tsìlpey went into the Sully hut to go get rest. Everyone has a big day today.
