|•Chapter 4•|
A horn blew as we entered the Metkayina terriotory, we were coming up on a village. Jake said the village was called Awa'atlu. The sea clans are a world unto themselves. Thousands of islands of unknown territory which we could just vanish without a trace. Forever. Tsìlpey had one hands on the reins of her Ikran while the other one was holding a shawl over her shoulders, Kiri had one just like it she was wearing. Ley'taw gave out a happy squawk as she was ready to be done flying this long jounney. Tsìlpey gave out a yip along with Neytiri and Jake.
We landed on the beach as Metkayina villagers started approaching holding weapons of their own like spears or knifes. Young children hiding behind their parents or holding their hand. Tsìlpey got off of Ley'taw as she put her shawl away as it was warm. She grabbed her knife as she went in front of Ley'taw to give some well deserved pats on the head and food. "On me." She could hear Jake say. She turned and started to follow Jake immatating what he was doing as he held out his arms as a sign of we come in peace so the Metkayina wouldnt attack.
Whispers came from the gathering crowd of Metkayina. "Be nice." Jake mumbled as Tsìlpey's tail whipped around. "Easy. Just be cool." The crowd parted as two boys emerged and started circling us while smirking, they sort of looked like the Sullies but they had light blue skin, fin instead of tails, and their arms were thicker. probably to help them swim in the water.
Lo'ak looked to his right as he was watching something. One of the boys smirked as he pointed to our tails. "Look. What is that? Is that supposed to be a tail?" They laughed. "Its too small. How are they supposed to swim?"
Then a girl slapped one of the boys hand, giving him a look. "do not. Rotxo. Ao'nung." The Metkayina girl turned to look at us and smiled.
"Hey." Lo'ak said as Tsìlpey looked at him giving him a look as the Metkayina girl just laughed as she stood by the two boys making fun of it. There was a shout as something snarled, we looked up as an animal flew over us as we ducked out of the way. There was 3 of them. They landed on a body of water as one of them grunted. They got off the animals and started to approach.
Tonowari was the cheif of the Metkayina people. Reef people. "Oel Ngati Kameie ma Tonowari." Jake said in Na'vi.
"Jake Sully." The man, Tonowari said back. It wasn't Tonowari Jake was worried about. A women emerged from the crowd. The Tsahik, she stood by Tonowari as she looked at all of us.
"I see you Ronal. Tsahik of the Metkayina." Jake said. Neytiri said the same thing as Jake said doing the gesture.
"Why do you come to us Jake Sully?" Tonowari asked. I looked at him and stuided him. He was very tall and had tattoos. He stood tall and proud. as a leader should do. Ronal was the same way but she had a seashell on her forehead and she was pregnant. She had one hand over her stomach.
"We seek uturu." jake said loudly as the crowd started to whisper among them.
"Uturu?" Ronal asked in a slight disbelief.
"Yes, sanctuary for my family." Jake nodded. The Sully family was started to become resless as they were trying to find a new village. They have been to many but they all turned them off. People were starting to get cranky.
"We are reef People." Tonowari started to say. "You are forest people. Your skills will mean nothing here."
'Well we will learn your ways, am I right?" Jake asked as he looked at his family.
"Yes." Neytiri said. Ronal started to circle them as she studied us. She grabbed Tuk's arm as she held it up to study it.
"their arms are thin." Ronal said as she walked over to Kiri as she grabbed her tail and yanked it a little as Kiri yelped in suprised. "their tail are weak." Tsìlpey gave a death stare at Ronal. "you will be slow in the water." She walked towards Lo'ak and Neteyam as she grabbed Lo'ak's hand to look at it and then brought it up in the air. "These children are not even true Na'vi!" Lo'ak lowed his head in shame.
"Yes, we are!" Kiri yelled out at Ronal as she let go of Lo'ak's hands and she grabbed her hands. Ronal brought it up in the air. "They have demon blood!" The crowd gasped and were exclaiming. Kiri tried to get his hand out of Ronal's grasp but she kept it tighter. Tsìlpey stepped forward as she hissed at Ronal giving a warning.
Ronal hissed back at Tsìlpey. "Let her go." Tsìlpey hissed at Ronal. She let go of Kiri's hand as Kiri pulled it against her as she rubbed it.
"And you." Ronal started as she circled Tsìlpey. "Are not apart of this family. Who are you? Why is Toruk Makto bring random children along with him while he is trying to keep is family safe?"
"You are right I am not apart of this family. I am Tsìlpey te Rongloa Nari'ta'ite. Daughter of Tsu'tey who helped Jake Sully during the great war and died during it. I am Jake Sully's oldest son's Yawntu."
"Look, I was born of the sky people and now I am Na'vi. All right?" Jake said as he had his hand on his forhead as he brought it down. "You can adapt. We will adapt. Okay?"
"My husband was Toruk Makto." Neytiri stated as Ronal made it to the front of the Sully's again as they started circling each other. "he led the clans to victory against the sky people."
"this you call victory? Hiding among strangers?" Ronal questions. "It seems Eywa has turned her back on you, Chosen one." Then Neytiri started snarling and hissing at Ronal as she did the same back. This went on for a few minutes before Jake stepped in.
" I apologize for my mate she's-" jake started before being cut off by Neytiri telling him not to apolgize for her. "Flown a long way and shes exhausted."
"Jake." Neytiri said sharpley before Jake gave her a look which Neytiri rolled her eyes and walked away. Ronal and Neytiri were breathing heavily.
Tonowari put his hand on Jake's shoulder trying to break more of the tension in the air. "Toruk Makto is a great war leader, all na'vi people know his story. But we metkayina, are not at war. We cannot let you bring your war here."
"Im done with war." Jake said as he picked up a tired Tuk. "Okay? I just want to keep my family safe."
Neytiri sighed before giving Tonowari and Ronal a sharp look. "Uturu has been asked." Tonowari sighed before turning to his mate as they talked. Not verbilly but through their eyes.
"Do we have to go?" Tuk asked as Jake put his hand over her head. There was a nod from Ronal as Tonowari exhales sharply.
"Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us." Tonowari states. "Treat them as our brothers and sisters. Now they do not know the sea, so they will be like babies, taking their first breath. Teach them our ways, so they do not suffer the shame of being usless." He looked over at us on the last part as Jake chuckled softly. There was in sigh of relief in the Sully family. They finally had a place to call home.
"Okay, what do we say?" Jake asked as he turned to us. Everyone said Thank you's ask Kiri muttered a sarcastic one.
"My son, Ao'nung and our daughter, Tsireya, will show your children what to do." Tonowari states.
"Father, Why do I-" The boy, Ao'nung started to say to his father while giving him a look before getting cut off my Tonowari.
"it is decided." Tonowari said while giving him a sharp look, like he was telling his son to be quiet.
The girl, Tsireya smiled Warming at us as she smiled. "Come, I will show you our village." Maybe this wasnt going to be so bad after All.
