Purling (Revised)
Note: I got the purl stitch totally wrong in the written directions. Blame the fact that I mostly crochet now. Shout-out to my sister, who I am teaching to purl! I read a book and found that my way was incorrect.
Purling is the opposite of knitting, and with these two stitches you can make all sorts of adorable patterns. Let's learn how.
1. Cast on, either using chain cast-on or e-wrap cast on.
2. Move the loops on the loom to the top of the peg (don't slide them off, just leave some space between the loop and bottom of the peg).
3. Position the working yarn on the outside of the loom, under the loop on the peg.
4. Insert the loom needle from top to bottom of the peg, through the loop on the peg.
5. Turn the loom needle and catch the working yarn. Pull it through the top loop.
6. Pull the top loop and working yarn off the hook.
7. Adjust the new loop created by the working yarn.
8. Slip the new loop on the peg: 1 purl stitch made.
Then repeat this around the loom.
