Lets Get Married (Makoto x Haru)

ULTRA FLUFF AHEAD! Y'ALL HAVE BEEN WARNED!

---

It was like any other evening for Haru; just out of the bath (of course Makoto had to drag him before he turned into a human prune) and snuggled up on the couch with his green eyed boyfriend. Currently, Makoto's fingers were gliding through Haru's dark azure hair like his hands in the water when he swims. Both boys had their eyes locked on the screen in front of them, not paying much attention to the show but enjoying each others company. It was only until they'd been in the same position for almost an hour that Haru had started to become restless. His joints longed for a cracking but his lovable boyfriends arm was swung around his, weighing him down. Being Haru, he pokes the side of Makoto's face, watching the skin turn from white to red from the pressure. Makoto turns around with an innocent face looking at his silent boyfriend as he feels him becoming fidgety beneath him.

"Let me out please," Haru utters and Makoto lifts his reluctantly after kissing Haru's forehead.

Haru starts to stretch, his joints popping and cracking, as Makoto stands up and asks with his classic smile, "would you like some green tea, Haru-chan?"

The bluenette nods as he crossed his legs on the leather sofa continuing to watch the TV while Makoto headed through to their kitchen to make their favourite drink.

The two had been living together for around 2 years, moving in  together just a while after the two had confessed to each other (Nagisa forced Makoto to confess). Haru would home three days a week while the rest of the time he was away training for the Japanese swim team, but even on his days off he had to train for at least two hours, while Makoto attended his second year in university learning about child care and coaching. I mean, it was Makoto's ambition to teach little kids how to swim.

Instead of waiting by the kettle, he snuck out the kitchen and past the living room before darting up stairs. He reached their bedroom with a small grin painted on his lips as he goes into his clothes dryer. He ruffles around in it for a minute before finally finding the small, black suede box and he pulls it out. Smiling widely like a cheshire cat, he shoves it into the back pocket of his jeans, he hears the ping of the kettle fully boiled and he sprints down the stairs. Makoto slips back into the kitchen as he finishes making up the tea before heading back through to Haru.

"Haru-chan..." Makoto speaks as he pokes his head around the door to see his boyfriend in the same position from when he left.

"I told you to stop calling me 'chan'," He mutters but he wasn't annoyed.

When should I ask him? Makoto's brain searched for the answer but he couldn't find it. I'll just know when the time is right...

"Sorry," Makoto smiles handing Haru his tea before plonking down next to them.

Currently, the movie 'Bride Wars' was playing and Makoto let out a small chuckle. Haru faced him with a puzzled look as he sipped his tea. Just as they were both getting into the movie, Makoto though now was the best time to say it. Slowly, he pleases down his empty mug and switches the TV off the remote.

"What's wrong, Makoto?" Haru asks timidly as he watches his gentle giant stand up and place his glasses on the coffee table. It was only a few months ago that Makoto had started relying on his glasses more because of watching tutor speeches so frequently at university.

Makoto doesn't answer as he turns the lighting down a notch in the room to make it more romantic, he then shuts the blinds and closes the door before finally being down on one knee. Haru's breathe hitches as he places down his mug and watches his boyfriends actions.

Taking a deep breathe, Makoto starts by saying, "Haru, you are my boyfriend. But more than that you are my best friend and nobody can tell me different. And just like every other friendship, we've had our ups and downs but no matter what, we have always stuck together. We didn't become best friends over night, unlike all the kids in movies, but our friendship was built on a strong bond that can never be broken down. Yes, it has a few rough patches and cracks but nobody has ever knocked it down!"

"Haru, when I first met you I thought you were the most beautiful and graceful thing I had ever seen. I remember watching you glide through the clear waters of the pool at my first swimming lesson thinking you were a part of the water. You were brave, standing up to the intimidating Rin, you were patient with the overly energetic Nagisa but most of all you were kind, to me. I was petrified of the water at first but you helped me get over that fear, the fear of sinking and never being able to go back."

"I knew you were the one for me when the four star restaurant lost our reservation but instead of being disappointed, you offered to go to the pizza place across the street. Looking back, that moment still makes me smile and I knew you had forgiveness in your heart, even if I spoiled our special night."

"Haru, I know we're only young but I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you..." Makoto looks into Haru's crystal eyes before letting out his breath and smiling, "do you want to, too? Will you marry me, Haruka Nanase?"

Haru's heart beat at a million miles a minute as he stared down at the man in front of him. His blue eyes winded when he heart those final words and tears threaten to pour from them. Speechless, he stands and throws himself into Makoto's arms before he finally chokes out, "YES!"
