It's calm Saturday afternoon, Hide lying on the red leather sofa watching the news while Kaneki is in the kitchen making himself a cup of coffee. Kaneki blew his hair out of his eyes and lifts up his cup and walks through to the living room. Around Hide, Kaneki feels confident and doesn't have to hide who he truly is including his ghoul eye. It was after Kaneki's life saving transplant Hide found out the truth about his best friend. It was also after that they both realised their feeling for one another.

"Kaneki, look at this!" Hide points at the flat screen TV as he sits up to make room for his lover. "They've managed to kill the ghoul Jason!"

Kaneki's heterochromia eyes widened as he sips from his small cup and he studies the TV. A while ago, Kaneki had received threats from the ghoul named 'Jason' after he had a bad relationship with Rize, the ghoul who's organs were transplanted into Kaneki. Ken sits down his cup on the coffee table in front of him before saying, "I'm glad."

"Hey Kaneki?" Hide says suddenly as he bindes his small arms around Ken's waist and looks up at him with an innocent face, "I'll protect you no matter what!"

A blush scatters along the black haired boys cheekbones and he mutters, "I'm a ghoul, Hide. I'll protect you..."

Hide smiles widely and pounces onto his boyfriend, laying on top of him as he frantically places kisses all over Ken's face. Kaneki couldn't help but hold back a laugh as he watches his needy boyfriend shower him with love, Ah, how did a ghoul like Kaneki get so lucky with an innocent human like Hide?

Hide finally stops attacking Kaneki's face with his lips and instead plants his lips onto another pair. Slowly, Kaneki's eyes flutter shut along with Hide's and their lips move slowly in sync. It was spontaneous moments like this that caused Ken to fall in love with Hide, all the unexpected hugs and kisses he would receive and the small but meaningful compliments thrown at him each and everyday.

After a few seconds, Ken pulls away blushing and panting a little before he wipes his lips with the back of his hand.

"Why so sudden?" Kaneki asks with a bashful face and Hide just smiles in response.

Hide rolls off of his boyfriend and sits up before putting out his arm. Ken smiles and sits up then shuffles into Hide's side snuggling into his chest softly. A low chuckle escapes from Hide as he looks down at his cosy boyfriend, warmth spreading all over him when he even just thinks about Kaneki. He stares at his features, taking in everything about him and he finally lands at his eyes; a constant reminder to Hide that his boyfriend is a human-eating-ghoul. Although he loves everything about Kaneki, every time he sees his ghoul eye it reminds him of how Kaneki was almost killed by one of the ghouls and he himself was now one. It also brought pain to Hide that Kaneki hates who he is, he's just learned to deal with it.

Trying to forget about it, Hide runs his fingers through Kaneki's locks and smirks down at him before planting a kiss on his forehead.

"I love you," Hide whisper and holds Ken's face in his pale hands.

"I love you too," Kaneki says smiling before his stomach rumbles ruining the moment.

Hide laughs and kisses Ken's neck before saying, "go and have some food."

Ken smiles at his wonderful boyfriend. He loves everything about Hide. Hide would never judge Kaneki for being a ghoul and was always there to support him.

Ken stands up before placing his lips on Hide's and pulling away, "thank you for everything, Hide."
