Your Last Chance

You ended up being locked inside your room for days as Yosuke's execution loomed closer putting an immense weight on you. The first day of your confinement you had been confident in your ability to escape. You were even able to get hold of a knife you had hoped to use, but as you failed and failed over and over again to do so you began to lose hope. Every day seemed to bring you closer to the day that Yosuke would no longer be in the same world as you. It was too hard to even think about, you couldn't imagine Yosuke ever being gone. Even as you breathed then, he was somewhere else breathing too. It almost seemed like it was impossible for him to ever die.

You started to tell yourself that he wasn't really going to die. That this was all just a dream you would wake up from soon enough. Never being able to see Yosuke ever again just seemed unrealistic. By the time the day before Yosuke's execution arrived you could't even think about Yosuke at all or anything really. When you tried your mind just went blank and you didn't even know what to think.

It was only on the early morning of the execution that you seemed to realize what was happening, that that was the very last day Yosuke's heart would beat. You could't take it. Your own heart hurt as you thought of all the things you regretted. If only you had spent more time with Yosuke. If only you had never come to the palace. If you had just hidden those scrolls in your room before Koumei had seen them. If you not fallen into depression and given up hope while trapped in your room. If you had changed just one of those things this might not have been happening right then. Maybe, if you had just not fallen asleep outside on that night of the festival and had instead left with Yosuke, then you would never have met Koumei.

While you stared at nothingness you started to think about Koumei, then you got up from your bed and walked to the door. One last time, you decided to try to save Yosuke one more time, by resorting to your last hope. With all the strength you could muster, you raised your hand to the door and knocked on it. A guard on the outside immediately responded and inquired as to what you needed. Through the door you gave a few weak words.

"Please," You hoarsely whispered out. "Please, could you tell Koumei I would like to see him. Please." Hearing your voice after such a long time made you choke up as you really and truly noticed how real everything was.

After a few seconds of silence on the other side of the door you heard, "alright... I'll go get him." The unexpected words of the guard made you shake. After they had learned to ignore anything you ever said, just this one time they had agreed to your most important request.

You glanced over to where you had hidden the knife you managed to get a hold of on your first day trapped in the room. It rested inside one of the pillows atop your bed. Quickly you ran to the bed and grabbed the pillow with the knife in it. You put your hand through a rip you had cut into the pillow and grasped the handle of the blade.

With the pillow pulled close up to your chest you waited for Koumei to arrive. You felt yourself trembling as you sat waiting in tense anticipation. Then, the door began to creak open as you saw Koumei enter the room.

<< Koumei's POV >>

Hearing that (Name) had asked me to come to see her filled me with joy. Since I had imprisoned her in her room she had not asked for me nor had I gone to see her. Though not seeing her face for an entire week was very difficult to do I figured she would need the time to be alone, but maybe now she was opening up to me.

I put down everything I was doing and walked over to her room, curious as to what she needed. As I opened the doors I saw (Name) sitting on the chair closest to the door while snuggling into a pillow. I did notice that she seemed to be holding the pillow in a strange way as if she was hiding something inside. I could already predict her movements, so it came to no surprise when she placed a knife up to my throat. I sighed in disappointment. I had hoped she would have called me to her room for something more important than this.

Looking at her, I saw her shaking as she tried to sound brave. "K-Koumei, you need to stop Yosuke's execution or else I'll kill you. Right now."

Obviously she was incapable of completeing such a task, with her hands trembling like a leaf. I doubted she was even brave enough to even kill a bug, much less a human. I looked into her frightened eyes. "Are you sure you can?"

She looked at me with fear evident on her face. While she seemed to contemplate what I said I reached up and gently placed my hand on her hands and pulled the knife away from my neck. The movement seemed to jolt her into realizing and she jumped back away from me and took a few extra steps until she was a good distance away.

"Koumei... I still don't understand why you're doing this." Her choked up voice sent a pain in my chest, still I couldn't help but smile at her cluelessness.

"It's because you're mine."

"I don't know what you're saying. Why would anyone every truly do this?! G-Give me a real reason."

"(Name), I love you very much." She didn't say anything and she seemed surprised, then tears spilt from her eyes. Had I reminded her of something, hopefully not that Yosuke person!

In a tone near to a whisper she muttered out. "How much do you really love me."

I replied, "I would do anything to have you. I don't ever want you to not be nearby." I was surprised by how much I was letting my feeling get the best of me.

With her face still contorted with fear she looked at me with fiery eyes and she slowly stopped trembling. "Is that so?" I looked at her with utter surprise as she raised the blade in her hands to her own neck. "Stop Yosuke's execution or I'll kill myself. Surely you love me enough not to want me to die... And if you think for even one second that I'm too afraid to kill myself you are sorely mistaken. I may have hesitated to take away another's life, but when it's my life I'm not afraid to die."

I stared at her completely surprised, however when I saw a drop of blood slide down her neck from where she held the knife I was filled with anger. I felt myself glaring at her as I thought of what that Yosuke was causing her to do. She was willing to kill herself for him right now and it infuriated me. I couldn't just let (Name) die because of some idiot.

<< Your POV >>

"Spirit of space and time dwell within me, Dantalion." You gasped in surprise as Koumei was enveloped in a light before changing into a whole different appearance.

It surprised you but you still held the knife firmly against your throat. "I swear Koumei, if you come even an inch closer to me I will slit my throat!"

"Don't worry I won't come any closer to you."

"Then, are you going to comply to my condition?"

He didn't reply but began to slowly lift his hand upwards. Seeing him move scared you as you felt yourself flinch. However, you didn't say anything. As if he saw that you weren't going deepen the cut on your throat anymore from his movements, he began to move his hand a little faster for each motion he made. Watching him do whatever it was he was doing, you began to grow suspicious. You opened your mouth to question him about it, but before you could speak a single word you were surrounded by some sort of constellation thing. You had no idea what was happening and before you could press the knife further onto your neck you felt a warm hand grasp you cold one.

Realizing someone was touching you, with all your strength you tried to bring the knife closer to your neck so you could end your life. However, no matter how hard you pulled at the blade it was getting farther and farther away, then you felt it pried out of your fist. You saw a hand taking the knife away as your eyes darted from the hand up to the face of Koumei.

You struggled to get out of his tight grip around your waist while you looked all around you. The surrounding were the same, but from a different angle. You had no idea how you had made it to the other side of the room, but you had no time to think of that as you tried as hard as you could to get out of Koumei's arms.

While you used all the strength you could manage in your attempt to escape, a clattering noise made you pause for a second as you looked over at the knife which had fallen on the floor. Then, you glanced over at Koumei's now empty hand as it approached your face. You tried to turn away from it, but it was no use as it began to cover both you mouth and nose. Losing oxygen, you tried to get his hand off of your mouth. However, your body began to grow weak as your vision slowly faded.

A/N: This author's note has nothing to do with anything at all pretty much. I just have some fangirling to get off my mind... For The Brothers Grimm. So please feel free to not read this at all, because... Well unless you want to I guess. Spoilers for Into The Woods... If you do read it.

Kjuhabenanx XD XD XD XD OHMAGOSH OHMAGOSH OHMAGOSH.
So, you know Into the woods that came out in December. Well, I JUST WATCHED IT! For anyone who doesn't know (all of you) The Brother's Grimm fairytales is my favorite book ever!
Now I wasn't expecting much when I hit play, but then they started singing! I FREAKIN LOVE MUSICALS! I calmed myself down then when the stepsisters kicked Lentils into the fireplace for Cinderella to pick up in order to go to the 3 NIGHT FESTIVAL I started freaking out. It was so accurate, oh my gosh so accurate. I was predicting everything that was going to happen!!! When the witch was singing about stealing from her garden, I was like, "OH MY GOSH ITS MOTHER GOTHEl!!! KYAAAA!!!"
And the willow that grew from Cinderella's tears! And Little red riding hood being cut out of the wolfs stomach! And the same actor who played Jack was the one who played Gavroche in Les Mis!!!
It was sooooooooo perfect. Oh gosh, absolutely wonderful... Although I do have some peeves! Why Did Cinderella have to were the same golden dress to the festival?!?! It was supposed to be three different ones, if I remember correctly, one as silver as the moon, as golden as the sun, then one that shined as much as the stars. Grrr, and also why didn't she climb into a pear tree to escape from the prince?!?!
However the most important thing that bugged me was the end of the movie which was horrible. Let me desc one my feelings... It's like they made the most perfect movie ever then made a sequel for it and attached the sequel to the end of it. If it had just ended at the happily ever after scene it would be my favorite movie freakin ever. But it didn't and they had to try and make it unique or something stupid, GAAAAWWWWWSSSSHHHHHH, please Disney why? WHY?
Anyway If you haven't seen it, you should DEFINITELY see it. But when there's flowers everywhere and it seems like the absolutely perfect end and you think the movie is over end it right there and ignore that the Baker's wife ever dropped that magic bean on the ground. ;)

Okay, sorry about all that just had to get that off my chest. Just oh Grimm Brothers I Love You So Much!!! <3 <3 <3

BTW, I don't plan on every writing an author's note this long ever again. So, sorry for all that ramble.
