Possibility of Thievery

Before you could even comprehend what was happening you had already shoved Koumei away from you out of reflex. You covered you mouth and looked around you to make sure no one had seen. Then, you looked back at Koumei who had fallen off the bench and onto the ground.

"I-I'm sorry, but..." Your voice faded as you spoke.

"No, I'm sorry." He heaved himself up from the ground and sat back on the bench, grabbing a handful of seeds from a bag and tossing them to the flocking pigeons.

You both sat there silently for a while until you spoke up. "Koumei, I'm sorry, but I can't return your feelings. As you know I already have someone I love."

He furrowed his brows before standing up. He looked down at you while you looked up. "I understand, I'll act like this never happened."

He walked off leaving you feeling guilty. You didn't know if you felt bad for rejecting Koumei or kissing someone other than Yosuke. It was probably both though. You looked over to where Koumei had been sitting. He had left his bag of seeds on the bench. You reached over then picked it up and started tossing seeds to the pigeons which still surrounded you. You sat there with your mind blank, just tossing seeds onto the ground. Your eyes lost focus on your surroundings until all the pigeons were just blurs of color hopping around to wherever seeds were. You only blinked yourself back into life when you noticed the bag was empty. Glancing down at the bag you sighed, then stood up.

If Koumei continued to develop feeing for you, you were probably going to end up leaving. You just hoped you wouldn't get too attached to living in the palace. Still, you doubted what was going on was too serious, after all Koumei had only just met you so he couldn't have any strong feelings for you. Actually you had no idea why you were thinking about this so much. After only meeting twice, he could only be slightly interested in you if at all. His feelings probably wouldn't grow and he would probably get over it fairly soon, Koumei looked mature enough for that.

You laid the empty bag on the bench before striding off, back to your room. When you arrived Yosuke wasn't around. You were a little relieved that he was gone. At the moment you weren't really ready to face him.

You sat down in a chair and looked around the room. Right then, you really wanted to get your mind off things by reading a scroll, but it seemed that there were no scrolls in your room at all. You mentally screamed before you got up and decided to find the library so you could stock up on scrolls.

It didn't take long at all before you found what you thought was the room you were looking for. As you entered your heart sank to see Koumei was there. You just knew that he would say something if you stayed, so you decided to leave before he noticed you. Unfortunately, just as you were turning around to leave he looked over and made eye contact with you. It was too late for you to turn back. You were going to have to talk to him. You walked over to where he was. When you opened your mouth to say something he briskly walked away without giving you a second glance. Upon seeing him ignore you so coldly you just stared in awe at the door he had exited from. Shaking the weird feeling you had away you decided this was a good development. Him being cold to you was much better then him being in love with you.

You stopped thinking about it and returned to the reason you were in the library in the first place, to find something to read. You walked over to where Koumei had been standing, curious to what he had been doing. You grabbed a scroll from the top of a small stack of them and opened it. Looking at the layout of the scroll you realized you weren't in the library, but in the athenaeum, where records were stored.

The scroll you had seemed to be a record of an incident in the very recent past of the assassination of an extremely important noble in the Kou Empire. The assassin had never been found. Well, thats what you figured from lightly skimming over the contents of the scroll.

You looked through a few more from the stack and noticed they were all on the same assassination. You didn't know why Koumei had been looking at them, but nevertheless you were interested in this assassination. So, you decided to do a little research on it.

Grabbing three scrolls you left back to your room, excited to study them. When you returned Yosuke had already come back. You sat down and prepared yourself to read the scrolls, to your disappointment Yosuke invited you to play a game of chess. However, due to your love for the game you decided not to turn him down and excepted his challenge. Afterwards you would read the scrolls.

You sat down with him and when all was said and done you won. Feeling proud of your victory you almost forgot about the scrolls. As you got up to make some tea you saw them sitting there practically begging you to read them. You asked Yosuke if he would mind making the tea instead, so you could start reading.

"Sure, as a servant I would be glad to." He replied which caused you to end up help him make the tea. You didn't want to consider Yosuke as your servant. When the tea was finally made you sat down to read the scrolls. As you opened the first one your hands trembled with excitement, then Yosuke interrupted your long awaited read.

"What is it, Yosuke?" You said in a sickly-sweet tone.

Yosuke seemed to notice your anger as he raised his hands in mock surrender. "Sorry, (Name). I just wanted to let you know its getting late and you might want to get some sleep soon. But, you read or do whatever it is you want to. I'm going to bed now, though." He got up and went to his room.

You watched him walk off then looked out the window. It had gotten late without you even noticing. Upon realizing how late it was you suddenly noticed how tired you were. You tried your best to focus on the words which rested on the page, but they seemed to just turn into a blur. You were suddenly too tired to even be disappointed that you couldn't read the scrolls right then. So, you ended up going over to your bed. As you jumped in the bed you blew out the lamp which left you in darkness and before your eyes could even adjust to the dark you were fast asleep.

When you woke up you felt slightly aroused, but what really got you attention was that the scrolls you had left on a wooden table in the room were gone. Maybe you had just misplaced them. You pulled the blankets off your bed, hoping you had lost them there, but all you saw an empty bed. Quickly, you ran back to where you thought you had left them the night before. You bent over to look on the floor, but nothing was around.

After searching every nook and cranny of the room you barged into Yosuke's room without knocking. He was already awake and in the middle of changing clothes. Feeling your face catch on fire you slammed the door shut with Yosuke's partially naked body imprinted in your mind. He had been covered down there, but his torso was completely bare. You leaned up against the wall and covered your eyes with your hands. Your face was burning hot as you continually saw his strong chest in your mind. After taking a few deep breaths you calmed yourself down and reminded yourself you hadn't really seen anything. It was just his chest after all, and it was not like it was your first time seeing it.

It didn't take long before Yosuke came out of his room fully clothed and a little worried. "(Name), what was it you needed so badly?" He then smirked, "or was it you just really wanted to see me?"

You felt your embarrassment return. "I-I just wanted to ask you if you had taken my scrolls or if you know where they are."

"Hmm, the last time I saw them you had them last night."

"Oh, okay, I just can't find them anywhere."

"Well, they couldn't have just grown legs and walked away, they have to be in here somewhere."

"I've looked everywhere, they aren't here." You stopped talking for a second as you thought of the only possible thing that could have happened. "Do you think someone could have stolen them?"

"It is very possible, but I think we should look around the room again before we conclude anything." You nodded your head and you both searched the whole room again, though it lead to being pointless. It unnerved you to think someone had been in your room at night. Hopefully it wouldn't happen again.

A/N: Well, sorry the yandereness is getting delayed so much. But I just can't find a way for Koumei to suddenly go crazy. But, just so you know he is definitely already becoming yandere and plotting something.
