Jai walked inside a dark appartment and the only thing visible from the dim light coming from the corridor through the open door was Jai's dark shadow. His head was hung down. He closed the door behind him and started to take baby and unsteady steps inside the living room of the appartment. In the dead darkness of the room, he could see nothing and started to hit at the furnitures placed in the room. Suddenly he remembered something.

In the same appartment, there were no furniture and the appartment looked newly built.

"Waow! Its amazing." Said Sonia as she moved around the appartment with brightly shining eyes.

"You like it?" Asked Jai smiling and looking at her from a distance.

"Liked it? Loved it!" Said Sonia as she ran to him in excitement and hugged him tight. "I love you Jai. I love you so much!"

Jai hugged her back and said,"What do you think about the furnishings and interior decorations?"

"Well I have great plans for them." Said Sonia giggling.

"Okay ma'am. Your wish is my command." Said Jai dramatically.

They both started to laugh at Jai's comment.

A tear drop escaped Jai's eyes. He walked outside at the balcony and saw the view of the street from the thirty eighth floor of the building. The cars were appearing the size of toy cars and the humans walking appeared to be lilliputs.

"Jai that's mine." Said Sonia pointing at the car standing at the signal.

"That's mine." Pointed Jai to a car which was standing at same signal point beside the car at which Sonia had pointed.

The signal went green and both the cars started. They looked at both the cars till Sonia's car reached the end of the street first and she started to jump in excitement.

"Yeah! I win. I win. You have lost again, Jai. Now I want my gift." Said Sonia as she placed her palm infront of Jai and closed her eyes.

Jai knelt down as he took out a small heart shaped white coloured jewellery box from his pocket and opened it and revealed the diamond ring inside it and placed the box on Sonia's palm.

Sonia opened her eyes and her mouth dropped in shock as her lips again curled up in a gorgeous smile.

"Ms.Sonia Gupta? Would you like to marry me and become Mrs.Sonia Jai Bakshi?" Asked Jai with a bright smile in his face and his eyes bright and twinkling.

Sonia's eyes moistened up as she nodded her head in a yes.

Jai's eyes shut tight as tears flowed down his eyes. He went away from the balcony and got inside his bedroom. As soon as he entered the bedroom, the first thing that he saw made him break down and he fell down with a thud on the timber floor of the bedroom. He kept on staring at the oversized photo of Sonia and him spending quality time, hung at the wall behind the bed.

He leaned at the wall beside the door and sat down with his legs folded close to his chest. He hugged his legs a he kept staring at the wall infront of him. Tears were a common thing to him by now.

He kept looking at the picture and the more he looked, the more his indide aced. All the happy times, all the smiles, all the laughters, all the dreams were turned down to just memories. The thought of this made him shiver with a fear of living without Sonia. Had he ever thought of a single day spent without her?

"Its all because of me. All. I was the one who was to get shot but instead, you were shot to death. Why do you always do this? Why do you always put me before you? You didn't even bother to think of our child." Said Jai looking at the photo.

He could no more control himself and hugged his legs close to him and placed his head over his encircling arms and cried to sleep. Thinking of Sonia.
