Chapter 2

just, like, a beginning A/N, why are people actually reading this, it's not even good?
-----------------------------

They entered the room, what seemed to be stairs made out of obsidian running up the middle and bedrock slopes lining the outside. It was rather large, I'm not gonna lie. The ceiling was made out of obsidian slopes, coming to a halt at a flat area. End Crystals rested on the bedrock slopes, waiting to be exploded. Skeppy stepped back, "What the. How can you place end crystals on sloped bedrock? How do you obtain end crystals in the first place?" he asked
"You can craft them in recent updates, y'know," Schlatt answered, looking at the blue male.
"What-?!" Skeppy responded.
"Yeah, you didn't know? " Schlatt asked.
"No..." Skeppy admitted.
"Guys..." a6d stated. The sound of pistons moving, then silence. The door leading back the way the came had closed, now it was only forwards.
"How did that-?" Bad begun, but didn't pry further.

The four took out their weapons. a6d, Bad and Skeppy all had sword whereas Schlatt had an infinity bow with an arrow, allowing him to shoot unlimited arrows, well, until the bow breaks of course. He pulled back the arrow, just in case. Of course the business man had a bow and arrow, why wouldn't he? "What's the plan guys?" Skeppy asked.
"Go up to the platform, I guess," Schlatt shrugged, looking up.

The four slowly but surely crept up to the platform, looking around as they did so, "Do not hit the end crystals, no matter what. They will explode, and we don't want that," Schlatt warned the others.
"Way to make us feel better, Schlatt," a6d replied, sarcastic once again.
"Yeah yeah, anyway, it seems as if the room is empty," Schlatt stated the obvious
"There's books on the items frames up there, interesting," Bad pointed out, pointing his sword at the wall with books in item frames, four to be exact.
"It's not every day you see things like this in these places," Skeppy said, putting his sword away.

Schlatt jumped up, punching one of the frames, "What does it say?" Bad asked, curious.
"It says things about... wait a second. Do you guys remember that tournament we were in every Monday? It seems to be a document of week six," Schlatt answered.
"I'm sorry what?" Skeppy asked.
"Yeah it says here, 'When he spawned the wither, that was a laugh. When he won, I was impressed. It was a blast to watch all around.' Is it about myself and Techno winning that week?" Schlatt responded.
"I mean, it has to be, right? Who else has spawned the wither and won. I know Techno spawned it the next week, but still, he didn't win, he only just lost," a6d replied. Although he hadn't participated those two weeks, he was informed about it by Skeppy and Bad, seeing as they were all good friends, then Techno introduced Schlatt to the trio.
"How long has Techno been missing? A few weeks, maybe a month at this point?" Skeppy asked.
"More than likely, yeah," Bad answered, "It's not the same without him."
"You can say that again, don't, actually," Schlatt replied, "And it's been 2 months since even I've heard from him.

Skeppy jummped up, grabbing another book. He opened it, "Oh that's just mean, 'He is one of the most annoying bedwars teammates ever, seeing as he kept on griefing the bridges. That and he was just plain bad. How do you go to break a block, jump, place a block and fall in the void easily?' This is about the time Techno and I teamed up in a Bedwars stream, along with an admin," he grumbled, "Does this world hate me today?"
"Yes, yes it does," Bad answered.
"I feel betrayed," Skeppy responded.
"Good," Bad laughed.
"Let's see what other books there are. There appear to be two more," a6d stated, grabbing another book.

He opened it up, reading aloud, "'He didn't know him better than the other two, it was their first known interaction after all. What he wanted to know is why did he kill him to prove the myth of him not dying wrong?' Is this about when you did that survival world, Skeppy?" a6d asked.
"It's gotta be. Weren't you all like, 'I solved the myth, Technoblade dies!'?" Skeppy answered.
"Yeah, I was. There was a lot of excitement when I killed him, I'm not gonna lie," a6d replied, "He respawned and we laughed it off."
"Why do all of these have to do with one of us and Techno?" Schlatt asked.
"I dunno, I wonder what this last book is gonna be about. Probably myself and an interaction with Techno, seeing as that is the theme going on," Bad pondered.

He grabbed the last book, "Go on then," Schlatt encouraged.
"Ok, it says here, 'He was proud of him when they won. It was one of their first few interactions and yet, it was good. He trained the two of them, and they won. He knew Skeppy was good, yet not too sure that he would do it.' This is from when Techno helped Skeppy and I during week five of the event," Bad read aloud then explained.
"How do they know all of this anyway?" Schlatt asked.
"Yeah, I have no clue. Perhaps a fan of us or something?" a6d answered.
"Maybe, that's our best bet at the moment. Perhaps this mysterious fan has something to do with Techno's disappearance," Skeppy responded.
"Wow, Skeppy's actually being smart for once," Schlatt taunted.
"Oh shut up," Skeppy sighed, the group laughing. Finally something lighthearted after the chaos of the wither waves earlier. It wouldn't last, and they knew it.

A door opened from somewhere, and it was only now did they notice the slabs running along near the top, perfect for someone to walk across. And a stranger, dressed in a cloak that covered their entire body, obscured by the darkness of the obsidian and bedrock, seeing as the only actual light came from glowstone running along the bottom. Whoever this person was, the group didn't know, and so, the stuck together, "I think we've found the owner of the base," Schlatt mumbled.
"Or rather, they found us here," Skeppy responded.
