I woke up to the crisp summer air and morning sun in my face. Along with soft snores coming from my boyfriend, JJ. His blond shag clung to his forehead mainly from not showering the night before. He still smells of saltwater and something I cannot describe as being anything but JJ and summertime. Both his sun kissed arms still wrapped tightly around his pillow. I rolled over and looked at the alarm clock, 10:00 a.m. "JJ it's time to get up," I said softly, which did nothing. "JJ it's me get up," I tried again louder.

"What?" JJ slurred.

"Come on I'll make you some breakfast," I replied.

Walking through the Chateau, the dark oak creaked under my feet as I skimmed my fingers across one of the cerulean walls. Opening the fridge, I decided to make eggs for JJ and settled with vibrant red strawberries and kiwis for myself. Stirring the golden liquid I heard the wood creak behind me, and I smiled to myself.

"Good morning beautiful," JJ said hugging me from behind, planting a kiss on my cheek. Turning around I smiled, "Good morning my love," I replied.

JJ was barley awake, ocean eyes drooping and still in his white swim trunks with pineapples on them; how I loved those so much, even if they were the same ones from yesterday. "It smells good," JJ said nodding towards the stove. I turned my attention back to the stove and stirred the eggs. "That cause I'm making them, and I'm a good cook," I joked. "You are, and that's why I love you," JJ replied also joking. "Just cause I can cook?" I retorted smirking, reaching for a strawberry only for JJ's hand to be placed on top of mine. "Hmm, there maybe some other reasons too," he answered feeding me the strawberry from the white seashell designed bowl. I rolled my eyes as I scooped the eggs and some fruit on a plate for JJ.

"Got any plans for the day?" I asked, already knowing the answer would be no but that's just part of summer, being spontaneous just adds up to the fun.
"Whatever you're gonna be doing," JJ answered smiling right before shoveling another bite of eggs into his mouth.

"Well then..surfing, suntans, and iced coffees sound good to me," I replied.
"Sounds good to me, as long as you were that white bikini I got for you," JJ replied wiggling his eyebrows.
"Fine by me," I replied going to change.

"Wow, you look like a million bucks," JJ said leaning against his truck.
"Only a million?" I joked.
"No; way more, like totally way more, but that's the highest number I could think of at the moment," JJ said. I climbed in the car pulling down my worn-out jean shorts and readjusting my crochet bikini top that JJ bought for me. "Where to first?" JJ asked staring up his truck and tuning the radio.
"Hmmm you pick," I suggested genuinely not caring what we do.
"Alrighty then, let's hit some waves," JJ answered.

That's what we did for hours, surfed wave after wave falling into the cool water doing tricks and spins, heaven in our hands. Laying on the hot sand I felt as if everything was perfect. He is perfect. "Babe you good?" JJ voiced concerned from beside me.

I turned over to my boyfriend who was currently eating a PB&J I packed for him earlier. My boyfriend...Shaggy blonde hair that was a little too long, but in a good way. Hair I loved to run my fingers through as he fell asleep on the Chateau's couch, or on the hammock under the stars. Blue eyes that were clearer than the beach's water coming in cool and calm in the morning light or right before sunset. Sun kissed skin in which contrasted perfectly to his swim trunks. My boyfriend, my best friend, my home.
"Y/N are you okay?" JJ questioned pulling me back from my daydreaming.

"Yeah, sorry I was just thinking," I instantly responded embarrassed being caught in such a state.
"Hah thinking about what? It's summer," JJ joked.
"You," I replied a little too quick. Dang, that was way too quick, definitely should have dropped it.

"Me? Did I do something?" JJ questioned.

"This summer is going to be ours; you know?" I said looking out at the ocean.

"Ours. I like the sound of that," JJ smirked pulling me closer to him in the sand.
