All Hands On Deck!
"Raise the sails and hoist the anchor! Let's begin our journey to Inazuma!" Beidou commanded, sneaking a glance at me. She easily made her way through the crew members scuttling about the deck, quickly confirming details with the cartographer, all while not missing a single step.
"How are you feeling, sea star? Ready for your first voyage on The Crux?" She questioned, wrapping her arm around my waist as she joined me in looking down at the water.
"I'm a bit nervous, but also excited. I wish Ningguang could've seen us off though..." I sigh, pulling my gaze up to Beidou's eyes.
"Me too, but don't worry about it. Once you come back from Inazuma, I'm sure she'll make some time to hear all about your adventures. Now come on, let's stop wishing and help the crew get ready for rough shores. Inazuma has some pretty rough storms we'll have to get through."
"You sure we'll be okay? I don't wanna put any of the crew in danger!"
"Relax sea star, my crew has faced a lot, and it won't be our first time going through these storms." She casts a glance towards Kazuha, who is helping some crew members with the sails.
"I know, but I'm still worried. What if something goes wrong? Or a crew member falls ill? Or you fall ill? What if-" Suddenly, Beidou pulls me in and stops my questioning with a kiss, using her free hand to caress my cheek.
"Relax, okay? My ship is prepared and the crew knows what to do if I or another member get sick. Everyone has easy access to a life jacket and there are 2 lifeboats, enough to fit everyone and some cargo from the ship." I relax in her grip, resting my head on her chest and feeling her arms hug me tight.
...
The ships bucks and sways underneath me, slowly waking me up. Suddenly, the ship tilts right and I fall off the bed, rolling into the wall alongside a bunch of clothes spilled from my bag. Ouch...Is everyone else okay?!
I shakily stand up, falling over again as the ships tilts left. My head slams against the bed frame, and pain shoots through me. Ow...
I force myself to stand up, holding onto the bed frame with whatever strength I have left. A headache starts, rapidly growing more painful. I carefully shift towards the door, holding on to whatever I can to remain standing as the boat rocks beneath me.
I grab the life jacket on the wall, fumbling to strap it on me while also holding tightly to the walls. Eventually, I get it on and shift as close to the door as possible.
In one motion, I let go of the wall and latch onto the door handle, opening the door, only to see the pouring rain and water flooding the deck. I grab a bucket latched nearby and move towards the edge of the boat, latching my life vest onto the safety line by the railing.
I start to fill the bucket and toss the water overboard, all the while becoming more soaked and trying to fight through the steadily worsening headache.
My vision goes blurry and I throw one more bucket of water overboard before shuffling back towards the sleeping quarters. Spots appear at the edge of my vision, and a figure in red comes into view right before I slip and crash into the deck.
"Y/N-" Everything goes black.
...
To be continued...
