Just A little Bit of Love: Toya (Dabi) Todoroki reader part 3
Dabi never wanted mass murder. He wanted to show his father that he was wrong and that he was worth something, but that all changed. He got a bad job since he couldn't get anything else. He was legally dead after all, and his scares scared people, but they didn't scare you, probably because you were blind but even when you felt his scares, you never asked how he got them. He asked you about yours sometimes, but he never made you go into detail with them if you didn't want to. He never asked about the photos in your bedroom either.
He came over and fixed things for you because your house had fallen apart. You had no idea since you were blind so he made a list of things that needed to be fixed and even put it in brail so you could read it. Dabi told you his real name after a while and told you the reason why he changed it, and the man who tried to change him into something he didn't recognize. He even told you he wanted to go home, but his father would never believe he was alive since he looked so different. So you decided to do something risky. You got a DNA test done after Endeavor was on your show.
They came back, and you hid them in a drawer he normally got into when he came over. You had no one. Everyone was dead or turned their back on you when you needed them the most. You wanted him to have something you were never going to have. He had family, and he wanted to go home. He told you everything he needed, and it was hard for him. You weren't the one to judge since you were passed over the edge of despair more times than you could count. Your heart was cold and broken what seemed like beyond repair, but his wasn't.
You didn't want him to become a monster like you had. He didn't know a lot of things about you, and it was safer for him that way. He became a regular at your house, and you spent time together. Sometimes, he would even stay at your house just because it would be late when he went home. You watched movies even though you couldn't see anything and you even found the car he drove after he lost it in the parking lot. He wore chains on his pants so you could hold on to him if you wanted to.
You couldn't see how he looked at you, but he wished you could. His heart was still broken, but being friends with you changed everything. It wasn't as broken, and it seemed easier to let go of his anger even though he was still angry. You never told him to get over his pain, and you were giving him all the space he needed and wanted. Sometimes, you would break the space because you knew better than anyone that being alone was more like a prison than anything else.
"Hey y/n," Dabi said as he went over to the drawer with most of the spare tools.
"Hi, want something to eat?" You asked as he froze seeing the letter.
"What's this?" Dabi asked.
"What is what?" You asked.
"It's a letter from a DNA lab; did you find a living relative?" He asked.
"Oh, I don't know. I can't read it," you chuckled as he opened it for you and saw it was for him.
He didn't know what to say. He was angry that you did this, but at the same time, he knew why you did it. It even said his new name with the old name he went by.
"Are you alright, Dabi?" You asked.
"You got my DNA tested... why?" He asked.
"You know why, let's go see your family. How conservative is your family?" You asked.
"Now?!" He asked, terrified.
"Yeah, I got their address too. Your mom is in a mental hospital. I'm afraid, but we can visit your brothers and sister," you suggested.
"Even with this, they would never believe me, I mean, look at me," he said.
"Don't worry, even if they don't want you back, I will always need you around," you said with a smile.
He looked at you nervously and then sighed.
"Dress the way you want to," he said as you nodded.
You put on a crop top and shorts showing off your scars. You weren't about to let his father bother you, and you weren't going to let him push either one of you around. You grabbed Demon, and you got in his car.
He was nervous and honestly wanted to cry. He wanted this, but at the same time, he knew he wasn't going to be wanted just like last time. He entered the house and parked his car. He took a deep breath and then helped you get out with Demon. You had your walking stick and held onto Demons' vest. He rang the doorbell, and he looked at you.
"This was a bad idea," he said as he was about to leave, but then his father came out.
"I'm not doing another interview with you right now," he said.
"I'm not here for that, I'm here for something else. Dabi, show him," you said as he looked away, then gave him the paper he had been stressing, hoping it was for you.
"My son is dead, how dare you!" He growled as Dabi immediately got in front of you.
"You never showed me how to turn down my flames. You ignored me when my youngest brother was born because he was what you wanted, and the rest of us were trash. You beat my mother so badly that she had to go into a mental hospital! Do your worst to me, but don't you dare do what you did to me to her! If you want to burn me, then do it! You want me to go fine! Enjoy your fake family. One day, your lies are going to come out," he said as you put your hand on his shoulder to calm down.
"Breath," you said as anger started to pour into his veins like venom.
"Toya....?" Endeavor asked as Dabi looked at him but then looked away as he was about to leave.
"I know... a lot happened since that day. I changed, I hope you did too because they deserved better than the life I got," he informed me as you heard something drop.
"Shoto, what is it?" Kirishima asked.
"So you must be the little brother I heard so much about! I'm super proud of you for masterstering two quirks! Sorry I would come to meet you properly but..," you said as you turned around, showing him you were blind.
"I thought you were dead," Shoto said as Dabi was getting angry.
"Believe me, I wish you still thought so," he said as he was about to leave, but you grabbed his arm.
"He's happy to see you. He may look shocked, but his voice is higher. He's happy," you said as Shoto picked up some things he brought from school to keep here.
"I don't think so," he said as you kept him with you.
"Give him a second," you said with a smile.
"Where did you go? Everyone thought you were dead. Did you get taken?" Shoto asked.
"Yeah... I was in a coma for three years after that day. I got out, but then I lost my way. I didn't think anyone wanted me back, and you know how Endeavor is, I tried to make him proud by learning to control my fire better. I um got mixed up with All For One, but I think I made a clean break before anything happened. He was going to use me to break Endeavor. It was my goal for a while, but things change," he explained as his father looked shocked.
"You worked with all for one?!" He asked angrily as you quickly put Toya behind you.
"Nothing happened, you just hear what you want to hear still, don't you? I know what you did to your family. You have no room to talk about making mistakes. You almost turned him into a monster because he wanted you to be proud of him. Now that we got that out of the way, how about I make lunch? I was going to make some at home, but I wanted him to come home first. He had been talking about all of you so much, so I thought we should come over as fast as we could. Is it okay if I don't wear shoes? I know it's a weird thing to ask, but new places take me a while to learn," you explained.
"Yeah, come in," Shoto said as you kicked off your shoes and pretended to look for them to put them out of the way.
But now, since you had no shoes, you could see outlines of everything. You could see your shoes, his so-called father, his sister in the kitchen, his brother on his phone at the table. You could see the outline of the house, every board, every wire. You could now also use your quirk to kill his father by accident. You were burning with rage for what this trash of a human did to his family. You were angry that he didn't leave his family, and he treated them like how your father treated you and you couldn't forgive him for that.
His brother Natsuo just stared at his brother while his sister hugged him and cried her eyes when she realized that he was alive. Kirishima, Bakugo, and Decku came with Shoto, and now they were stuck there. Even though they could go, they wanted to be there for Shoto.
"So who's she?" Fuyumi asked as she was making plates for everyone.
"This is my friend Y/n met her on the way from a gas station. Honestly, if I didn't bump into her, I don't think I would be trying to be a good person," he explained.
"Hey, don't give me that. You have always been good. You just had a little bit of anger. Everyone does. Some idiot stole my service dog from my yard, and he got him back for me," you explained.
"Whatever you say," he said as you tried to put your stick against the table, but it hit the floor.
"Dang it," you said as Toya put his arm out to prevent you from hurting yourself on the sharp edge of the table, and you grabbed your stick after a couple of tries.
"This isn't the table, Toya. I don't want to hurt you," you said as you felt his arm.
"It's okay. You already get enough random bruises," he said as he looked at you.
The way he looked, you said it all to Shoto. He cared about you, and you did the same.
"You have lots of scars. Were you in a car accident?" Natsuo asked.
"That's rude! You know better to ask that," his sister said.
"That is a good question, my eyes. My dad blinded me with bleach. The rest are from thirty-four different foster homes. Each one was worse than the last and before you ask my family didn't want me enough to take me in and my father killed my mother and my two siblings because I didn't have a quirk but I did. It just came in late. If he had waited five minutes, they would all be alive, and I wouldn't be like this," you explained.
"He killed your family?!" Kirishima asked.
"Yeah, it wasn't enough to smack me around he just got tired of looking at me. But I can reshape solid objects and move them. Like this," you said as you drew a square on the table.
You didn't have to draw. You could do it with your mind, but they still had to think you were blind. You grabbed the small square and snapped it into a fork. You made it float, then you pretended to do a trick but made it go completely out of control. You were going to kill his father, but then Toya would never have his peace. Instead of hitting him like you wanted to in the throat, you hit the wall, making everyone gasp.
"Oh no, did I hit someone?!" You asked terrified.
"No, but I can see why you don't use your quirk," Toya said as you sighed.
"Yeah. It's hard. I wish I could see what I was doing," you said as Toya got the fork you made and put it in your hands.
You turned it back to normal, then put it back.
"So Toya, what are your plans with Y/n?" His sister asked.
"We don't have any plans," he stated as he became quiet.
"We have plans on going to the fair next week. You all should come with us! It would be fun. Plus, I want to meet all your friends, Shoto," you smiled.
"I'm Kirishima, also known as Red Riot. The angry one on my right is Bakugo, and Decku is on the other side of him," Kirishima smiled.
"I'm not angry!!!" He yelled.
"Determined and bullheaded, good qualities to have. So Toya took me to the store to grab some extra cleaning supplies and things like that since my Guide Stacey didn't get any, and he lost his car! I found it for him but it was so funny because he was so sure he parked in row one but it was six. I counted the steps from the car to the door. He looked for it for like ten minutes before I said anything," You chuckled.
"Ten minutes?!" Decku asked.
"Yeah, I just wanted to see if he could find it or not. It was funny, though. It was the first time I ever heard him laugh," you said.
"I laughed before that," he said.
"Not around me," you smiled.
"Yes, I have," he said as you knew he was going to tickle you.
"You better not," you said as he tickled you, making you laugh, which in turn made him laugh.
"I'm blind! You jerk, I can't protect myself," you laughed even though you definitely could.
"Stop. I'm going to pee my pants!" You laughed as he stopped.
"Fine, just this once since I'm so nice," he said.
"Like a rattlesnake," you chuckled.
"So mean, hey y/n I have been meaning to ask you, but is your air conditioner broken?" He asked.
"Yeah, it has been for like a week. I have someone coming next week on Friday to fix it. Until then, I'll have to wear socks. I just sweat so much, and it's only going to get worse," you explained.
"I can take a look at it," he said.
"Not to be mean to you, but you busted three light bulbs trying to put in a new one," you said.
"Wasn't my fault! It's in a weird spot. Honestly, I think you should sell the house and go into an apartment," he said.
"But then I have to learn my way back home. I want him to have a yard. He works all the time," you said as you looked down at Demon, who was sitting by your leg.
"Yeah, but you are going to have to replace a lot of stuff in a couple of years, and it's not going to be cheap," he said.
"Well, good thing I have the best handyman in town who also likes to watch murder documentaries with me," you smiled.
"You just like telling me how someone did it," he said.
"Well, yeah, like that one American guy who shot himself four times after killing his wife. He should have known not killing yourself was a big red flag," you smiled.
"How did you even know that to begin with? Are you sure you aren't a psycho?" He asked.
"You never know," you smiled as Shoto had a weird feeling about you since he saw you.
You made his brother happy, but something wasn't right about you, and he couldn't put his finger on it. But he was going to find out why you seemed off.
"I think we should go to the fair sounds fun," Shoto said.
"Great! It's all week, so we can go on whatever day you are the freest," you explained as he was trying to figure you out.
