You were fortunate you were able to drug Napel's drink before he could do anything to you, but the mere thought of leaving slipped your mind. You could leave right now, but no one would ever believe you. You waited until morning to leave a note saying you were going to work. You knew he would be upset with you, but you weren't sticking around.

You owned a small shop that sold herbs and things like that. You opened and started doing inventory and putting notices on products selling well. You heard the bell ring and smiled as you decreased some of the product prices and increased some that were selling out better.

"Welcome in!" You said.

"Y/n," Neji said, making you freeze, thinking it was Napel.

You slowly turned and saw Neji, making you completely relax.

"Hi Neji, need some healing herbs?" You asked as he crossed his arms.

"Why Napel?" He asked as you looked at him, confused.

"Why?" You asked.

"Why are you using him?" He flat-out asked as you almost wanted to laugh at him.

"I'm not using your cousin," you said as you wish that were the case.

"Like, I believe you avoided him the entire time at the family reunion!" He said.

"Neji, look, your cousin wants me to sleep with him before marriage, alright? I keep telling him no and to wait, but he wants to. I don't. He had been trying to make a move on me all day yesterday, so I was avoiding him," you explained.

"He wouldn't break the rules," Neji said.

"Neji, you don't know him like I do, trust me," you explained.

"He's my cousin; I have known him longer than you have," he said.

"Neji, I'm not saying you don't know him; I'm saying you don't spend every waking moment with him. Plus, you aren't his wife," you explained.

"I want you to break up the engagement," he said as you continued your work.

"Tell that to Napel not me, Neji. Look, I love him, and I don't know why you don't like me, but look, it's already a done deal," you explained.

"I don't know what game you are playing, but I don't like it. Once I find out what you are playing, I'm going to stop it, Y/n, and the whole village will know what you have been doing to my family," he explained.

"Neji, I'm not doing anything to him, alright? Have I ever asked you for anything? Have I asked your family for anything? Did I offend you in some way?" You asked as you moved your step stool to get something off a higher shelf.

"Just because you haven't asked-"

"Doesn't mean I'm a bad or good person, alright. I'm just here," you said as Neji didn't believe you.

You honestly wished Neji would stalk you and find out why you couldn't just leave his crazy cousin. But no one would believe Neji or you that he was a monster. You were still trying to get the stupid bottle you needed off the top shelf when Neji decided to help you even though he hated you. He got the bottle and gave it to you, annoyed.

"Get a bigger stool or grow more," he said before leaving.

"Thanks?" You said more like a question.

Neji was not like Napel at all, and for that, you were ever grateful. Your day was busy, and long after Neji left. Once you were done working for the day, you closed the shop reluctantly, and Napel quickly slammed his hand on the door angrily.

"You drugged me, you bitch!" He growled.

"I... I didn't want to sleep with you I'm sorry but we can't have kids yet! We can't okay, not until we-" you paused as he hit a couple of your Chakra points on your body.

"What did I tell you?!" He growled.

"I'm sorry but we have to wait, your family will get suspicious if I get pregnant before then. Your family is strict on the rules!" You whispered.

"Then, if you get pregnant, kill the kid. You can do that; it's easy," he growled and slapped you across the face.

"Now come on, time for practice!" He said with a cruel smile.

You were grabbed roughly and taken to a training area. Neji was training in a different location when he heard you trying to get Napel to stop his training.

"Napel, please, I'm tired I can't do this anymore," you said as you hit the ground again.

"Get up, I'm not done yet!" He growled.

You got up weakly and saw Neji crossing his arms.

"You are here late," Neji said as you pretended not to be as hurt as you were.

"Yeah, I got to practice to beat you," he smiled.

"She said she was tired," Neji said.

"She hardly practices anymore like she should," Napel said as he prepared for another attack.

"She works, unlike you," Neji said.

"Hey, I do to work, I go on missions when called to do so!" He snarled.

He quickly attacked you before you even had a chance to defend yourself. He hit you strait in the chest.

Instead of stumbling backwards; you fell straight to the ground.

"Hey, Y/n, ypu can stop being dramatic. I didn't hit you that hard," Napel said as Neji used his jutsu to see if you passed put or not but to his horror you weren't breathing.

Your body finally gave out after not eating, sleeping, or taking care of yourself properly due yo Napel's cruel games. Neji went over to you quickly and quickly opened up your shirt to see how many times Napel hit you.

"Get your hands off of her!" Napel said as Neji picked you up.

"She's not breathing you idiot! You completely disrupted her Chakra and it stopped her heart!" Neji said as Napel started to pretend to be the caring financè.

"Oh my god, no! I was trying to be careful with her. She hasn't been acting like her usual self since we got engaged. Before she could handle this!" Napel said as Neji rushed you to the hospital.

Neji may have hated you, but he didn't want you dead. Napel on the other hand was already planning on divorcing you once he found someone prettier then you. He flat out said once they turned thirty he was going to divorce her and tell everyone you cheated on him while you were on missions. No one was going to belive you of course because he was going to be perfect for everyone other than you.

At the hospital the doctors were barely able to bring you back and oddly enough you wish you weren't back. You were stuck with Napel still and there was nothing you could do about it.

"Neji and Napel?" A nurse said as Napel pretended to be a reck but he secretly was boiling over with rage.

"How is she.. is she going to be okay?" Napel asked as he was about to startt crying on demand.

"She is lucky to say the least. Napel have you noticed any changes in Y/n's mood recently? The nurse asked.

"Yeah, she has been avoiding me since we got engaged. I confronted her about it yesterday but she didn't say anything other then she was fine," he said sadly.

"Y/n is extremely malnourished and dehydrated," she said as Napel looked shocked and horrified.

"You idiot! You didn't bother to just your Byakugan on her?!" Neji asked as Napel sighed.

"Neji, just because I have it doesn't give me an excuse to use it. She will be my wife someday, and she isn't a toy or a prize. Why would I use it to look through her clothes before marriage? I should have known the stress of getting married and working, maybe even being depressed, would have something to do with this. Maybe I haven't been paying enough attention to her. Neji can I tell you something that's a bit private?" Napel asked softly.

"Well she is awake when you want to see her. She will have to stay here for a couple of days to make sure she's eating right," the nurse said as Napel nodded.

"I rather not get in your personal business," Neji said Napel sat outside your room.

"Neji she has been asking if we could sleep together before marriage. I keep telling her no but... she wants to. Maybe me saying no made her do this to get my attention. I try to flirt with her and that's what happened yesterday I tried to but of course you stopped it which it was for the best. I noticed she wasn't eating at the reunion so I tried to confront her about it yesterday but she said she was fine," he said as Neji realized you lied to him.

He knew you were manipulative but he didn't think you were this manipulative. He hated you even more now because you put your health at risk just to get laid. No one in there right mind would do that. Neji sighed annoyed angry.

"You should break off your marriage to her. If she does this just for attention then she is not a good person to be marrying. She will probably starve the kids to make you look bad or worse clam you are abusing her in some way," Neji said.

"I can't leave her, I love her so much. I just can't belive she did this to herself. I don't think the boulder was an accident anymore either. I think maybe she did it on purpose first but then changed her mind. I had to stop her from doing it again by grabbing her wrist hard. She almost crushed herself," he explained.

"Yeah, leave her. If you marry her you are just asking for trouble," he said.

"Neji, I can't. I love her and I don't want to bring shame to our family. Thank you for everything. Neji, if you two go on missions on missions with her; can you make sure she eats please and tell me." He asked.

"Fine, it's not like we go on missions together often anyway," he explained annoyed thst he had to babysit you now.
