Neji was on his third drink when Lee found him and Tenten. Neji had a bottle of Sake with him and almost got rid of his cup because he was angry at himself for not seeing through what his cousin was doing to you. Neji saw little red flags now more clearly, primarily how Napel trained with you. He completely ignored it. Now everything was clear as day. The guilt was eating him alive.

"Neji?" Tenten asked as he drank a bit more of his drink.

"Yes?" He asked; they sat down next to him.

"Neji, we heard what happened; Napel got banished from your clan. Y/n... she's okay, right? She didn't get hurt before?" Lee paused.

"I didn't see it coming. I blamed Y/n and said unforgivable things to her. I hated her for no reason other than because I could. At the family reunion, I thought he was getting mad at her because he finally caught her cheating. What did I stop him from doing to her?" He asked softly.

"It's not your fault you didn't like her, so you ignored things about her and Napel.  It's natural to do," Tenten said.

"I'm a jonin, it doesn't matter. It happened right in front of me. There is nothing I can do to make up for the things I have done, the things I said, if I just... as soon as it started I would have stopped it. But Y/n was alone because Napel made her feel that way. I made it worse," he said as he finally pushed his cup away and started drinking from the bottle but Lee grabbed it.

"It's not your fault," Lee said.

"Then who's fault is it? I was right there! Right there! I saw her more than my family members other than Hinata. She tried so hard to be my friend, but I was a jerk for no reason to her," He said.

"We are planning to go to her new apartment with Hinata; want to come? We are just going to make sure she's okay," Tenten said.

"She's not going to be okay. If she looks at me it will make things worse," he said, "besides I am going to see her family."

"Her family? She has family around here?" Lee asked.

"Yeah, Napel said something about her family so I'm going to see if they knew what was going on with her." Neji said.

"She never talks about her family," Lee said.

"I know, so it's already not great. I better get going," Neji said as he paid for his drinks.

"What now? You're drunk!" Tenten said.

"I can function, so I'm going," Neji said as he left.

Your family could use a Ninjitsu called formation. It was almost as powerful as Neji's eyes. The formation was a seal-making jutsu that could increase or decrease the Chakra in a person with a unique mark. It could also completely stop someone from using their Chakra, but it had a cost to the caster. If they completely stopped the Chakra flow in another person, they would also have no Chakra. Casting the seal was dangerous, but with more Chakra or less Chakra, it could completely change everything in a battle. He had never seen it firsthand because your brothers weren't great at it, and often, their seals broke within a minute of them having it on.

He walked to where your clan lived, and it looked perfect outside, but he knew it was less than that. He only saw boys running around. There wasn't a single little girl, which he found odd. He did see women, but they looked soulless like you did.

"Napel, you're back. Did poor little Y/n kill herself or dy on that mission with that stupid Cousin of yours yet? You know I'm surprised with those eyes his he hasn't caught on to you yet. Not like I care. If she's dead well sorry but you know how we work. We only kept her around because her mother is old. Someone needs to clean my house and do the chores," your father laughed.

"Kill herself?" Neji said as horror went across his face.

"Well, yeah, she said she was going to kill herself with poison she made. So she hasn't killed herself. Whoops. Anyway, just remember to give me your daughter when she's born or, better yet, get me a young girl for me to marry so she can do the housework. You know I was reluctant to give her up, but with the dowry you promised her when you married her, there was no contest. So are you pushing your wedding day up?" He asked as Neji paused.

"No," he answered, "why aren't there any other girls here?"

"Are you drunk? You know why. The head of the Shaina household isn't allowed to have daughters. The other girls in this village aren't allowed to leave the house because they owe us for being alive. We kill the girls if we have too many hanging around. You know, I technically had seven children, but most of them were girls, so I drowned them myself. Now look at me. I have two strong sons who go on missions and a daughter of mine. Honestly, I just wanted her to replace her mother. She's beautiful and perfect childbearing hips, and her mother is one ugly whore now. It's about time I get a younger wife," he laughed.

He killed his children because they were girls? You only survived because he wanted you to replace your mother. Neji started backing up in horror. He saw some young girls with buckets of water and hauling them up the hill. A boy pushed one of the girls down, but nothing was behind her eyes. The other girl went to the house where she lived. Neji helped the little girl up but she looked at Neji with nothing behind her eyes.

She pushed him away grabbed her bucket, and headed back to where she went to get the water.

"No, what the hell?" Neji asked as the boys were playing while the men did nothing at all. The men were joking around and degrading their wives while their sons did the same to their sisters and their mothers.

Neji quickly left the area and went over to Hinata quickly.

"We need to go to her house now!" Neji said as Hinata had flowers in her hands for you. 

"What's wrong?" She asked as Lee and Tenten were making a basket for you.

"Y/n made poison; she made it and was going to take it when she was on the mission with me! She might have more or even taken it already!" Neji yelled as Hinata dropped the flowers and Lee and Tenten looked at him shocked.

You dropped, throwing stars closer and closer to your face with no emotion. You didn't flinch and you were thinking about how you wanted to end it all. You heard a knock on the door, and you got up weakly. You had been laying on the floor for a while so you got a sudden head rush.

You went to the door and held on to the door knob. You put your head on the door  debating or not if you should open the door. You opened it and saw a worried Hinata, Lee, Tenten and Neji. You noticed Neji smelling like Alcohol and seeing him in a state you never seen him in before.

"Hi, I'm so sorry about Napel. He is no longer part of our clan. Do you want us to be with you for a while?" She asked as you looked over at Neji.

"Celerbrating?" You asked as Neji looked at you confused before you slapped him hard across the face.

"Y/n! He's worried about you to!" Hinata said as Neji held his face and stumbled back a bit shocked.

Your eyes locked and he noticed how dead they were. You were like all the woman in your village making him shocked.

"Wasn't before, you three are welcome here, not you. Stay away from me outside of our missions. I'm taking a week off from work and I'll be back. Tell Naruto for me. After the week is over you three can come over any time," you said as you went back into your apartment that hadn't even furnished and you took a deep breath before looking back at the door.

"Are you alright she slapped you really hard!" Lee said as Neji sighed.

"Yeah. We need to stop her family. All the girls have the same look in there eyes," neji said.

"What?" Tenten asked.

"The only reason she even made it to adult hood was so she could replace her mother," neji said.

"Let's see what we can do," Hinata said as Neji looked at the door.

"I need some good advice," he muttered as he went to Might Guy for advice.

Neji knocked on the door and looked at the apart building that was off in the distance that was yours.

"Neji! Hi there," he said.

"I need help," neji said as guys saw the hand print you left on his face.

"I say you do, lady problems?" He asked with a smile.

"Sort of. Napel Y/n's future husband was beatting her and I never even noticed or even asked about it. I thought she was being over dramatic and I hated her before this whole thing happened and I don't know how to apologize to her especially because I burned that bridge with her. She won't even hear me out if I tried apologizing," he said.

"Wow you really messed up Neji. I don't think there is a simple fix for this. How is she doing?" Guy said.

"Not great. I say rock bottom right now or lower then that," he explained.

"You need to keep an eye on her Neji that's all you can do. If she doesn't want you around you need to stay away from her and give her space. But you need to make sure she doesn't hurt herself. You want to make up for what you did. Keep her safe from herself. The lowest lows that people hit make us do things we regret for the rest of our lives. When we die the people that love us will miss us. Even if she doesn't feel like she is loved she will feel better eventually. It won't be instant it will take a long time maybe even years. As long as she lives she will have to come to terms and face it. Just look out for her so she doesn't do something stupid. It may seem like the only option but there is always more options out there even if they aren't the best in her mind it's better then being dead," Guy said as Neji looked at the apartment building.

"Thank you," Neji said as Guy smiled.

"Also bring her flowers, girls like flowers," he smiled.
