It all started when you met Napel, Neji's cousin. You were fourteen, about to turn fifteen, when you met him. He was dashing and intelligent, and he adored you. He gave you flowers and often primarily by surprise. He remembered every birthday and anniversary, and he even celebrated half-anniversaries. You met his family, and they loved you, but Neji. Neji hated you for whatever reason, and you tried to get him to like you, but no, no prevail.

You met Neji's friends, and they even liked you. You got engaged when you turned eighteen, and it was the best day of your life. That was until Napel showed you his true colors. He prevented you from seeing your family, which was a blessing and a curse because they hated you due to your ill ability to do the one jutsu your clan did. He hit you, starved you, tried to forceable sleep with you many times so he could help make more of his clan, put you down, and even beat you in public and called it training.

You couldn't do anything without him, and you couldn't talk to your friends without him being around, and you had to be home by a specific time unless you were doing missions. You tried hard to escape, but you couldn't beat him. The only way he would let you go is if you won against him in a match, but you always lost. It was hard on you, and you couldn't talk about it because he was a nice guy around everyone else.

He was perfect, and you hated it. He only wanted you for your Jutsu that your family could do, but you couldn't. It hurt, and worst of all, you had to pretend everything was fine and normal. No one was going to believe he hurt you. Why would they?

You were at a family reunion, avoiding Napel's advances and him like he was a disease. He looked like Neji but had a different way of speaking and was shorter than him. He also didn't wear a headband to hide the curse mark he had. They were no longer doing the marks, thankfully due to the last war, but still, you wanted no part of this family anymore due to Napel.

You were talking to some of Nepal's family members, and they were so excited for you to be a part of their family. You weren't happy to be a part of the family anymore, and you couldn't care less. Once you saw Napel making his way over to you, you went over to Neji.

Yes, he hated you, but Napel hated Neji. He always talked badly about him and how Neji decided to take an oath of absence to make sure his kids never got marked. His family promised they wouldn't, but he wasn't taking any chances. Napel was also jealous of him for some reason and tried everything to be better than him so he could prove he was better. It was a bitter rivalry, another reason Napel wanted to marry you. It was to show that Neji was missing out.

Neji didn't care and wasn't fond of children anyway, so what better way to avoid them than avoiding women in general? You went over to Neji, who was already annoyed by your presence. Naruto, Lee, and TenTen were also there, mainly because Neji wanted his friends around. Some couldn't make it due to missions, so it was just them.

"Oh hey, it's... Y/n, right?" Tenten asked.

"Yeah, that's me. It's nice to meet you again; sorry about that crazy boulder situation," you smiled weakly as you drank your drink.

"So you're the idiot who nearly took out the village. What were you thinking?" He asked as you looked down at your drink, a bit embarrassed.

Honestly, it wasn't you entirely. Napel threw you into the rock after you failed to get away from him. He threw you so hard your whole back was bruised still. You barely managed to stop the boulder from destroying a shop after you got the shit beat out of you.

"Hey, that's not nice Neji!" Tenten said.

"It's okay I get it, but hey you will have to put up with me since I'm going to be marring your cousin next year. Maybe we can hang out more..." You said as he immediately brushed you off like you dirt on his clothes.

"I have no idea what my cousin sees in you; you aren't exactly a prize or anything. Have you seen yourself recently?" He asked as you sighed a bit, but you tried to smile.

Personality they seemed about the same, but at least Neji was honest and treated you badly in public rather than behind closed doors like his cousin did.

"Neji!" Lee said, shocked.

"It's okay, guys really; I know not everyone can like me," you said as you moved slightly forward and closer to Neji.it was just a step but Neji looked at you with so much disgust he looked like he was about to kill you on the spot.

"So Y/n do you want to go to the bathhouse sometime with us and some of the other girls I know?" Tenten asked.

"I don't know I bruised my entire back bad from that rock and my husband had to save me from almost doing the same thing again so I have a handprint on my arm," you chuckled.

"Wow, you call him your husband already; that's cute! He is such a nice guy; I hope I marry someone like him," Tenten said.

"Yeah, he's the greatest," you said as you took a drink wishing it was booze.

"So, how did you and Napel meet or was it arranged?" Naruto asked.

"Well actually that's a funny story-"

"No one actually cares if it's funny or not Y/n-" Neji said as your Napel smacked his butt by accident instead of yours.

"Neji is going to beat your ass, you little shit! I may not be able to do anything to you, but he sure as hell can," You thought with a smile.

Neji looked at you first, thinking it was you, but as soon as he saw both hands were on your cup he grabbed the person behind him which was Napel. Neji turned around and Napel had an embarrassed look on his face.

"This is a family reunion! Not some inappropriate game. There are kids here! If you want to flirt with your girlfriend or what ever she is to you then do it far away from here and I mean out of this village far. It's disgusting!" Neji said as Napel had a glint of anger in his eyes.

"Well at least I have a girlfriend virgin boy. Afraid of girls or are you interested in men?" He asked as Neji snapped and took him outside.

Neji may have talked about about you in your face but the one thing he didn't do was hit you. He never raised his hand or put his hands on you which you didn't know if you should be grateful for that or not.

"What is wrong with those two?" Tenten asked.

"I don't know. Ever since I've known Napel, he's always talked bad about Neji, but I like him. He's honest, at least, and doesn't talk behind my back. I should talk to some of the other relatives. It's been nice meeting you all again," you said as you left to met more relatives.

"She likes Neji?! After everything he has said to her?!" Tenten asked.

"She doesn't want to know what he tells us behind her back. You really don't think she cheats do you?" Lee asked.

"It's hard to tell. I don't think so," Tenten said as Neji came back in alone and Napel soon followed all beat up.

Napel went to find you while Neji went to rejoin his group.

"Neji, what was that fight about?" Naruto asked.

"He's an idiot. Do I need a reason?" Neji asked.

"So why don't you like Y/n she likes you she said so," Tenten asked.

"Because she's cheating in my cousin. Ever since they got engaged three months ago she has been avoiding him like her life depended on it. I'm surprised he hasn't figured it out yet. I have been trying to get rid of her for years. She just won't leave!" He said annoyed as he saw you go into the kitchen.

"I don't think she's cheating," Lee said.

"Yeah, she is so nice," Tenten said, "plus she can out up with you being a jerk to her."

You needed some space and decided to get a drink. As you were getting a drink your cup was taken from you and nearly slammed other counter. You were forced to turn around and you were pinned to the counter.

"You dumb bitch! You think you can do that and get away with it. Talking to my cousin and using him to beat me? You think I'm stupid you disgusting whore?! You are mine! You hear me mine! I can do whatever I want to you when I want to! You are sleeping with me tonight if you like it or not! I'm sick of you avoiding me! I'm going to be your husband soon so you will do what I want! If I tell you to make me food,you make me food. If I tell you that you are sleeping with me that is exactly what you are going to do! If I tell you to eat off the floor then you eat off the floor! You have no options now especially because you are alone!" He growled in a low tone so only you could hear him.

"We need to wait until we are married!" You whispered angerly and terrified.

"You are not getting out of this! You hear me?!" He said as he got really close to your face.

"Again?! I told you once this is a family reunion! Separate before I make you two; if I see you two flirting like this again then both of you are getting what I gave you earlier," Neji said as Napel separated from you and looked at Neji annoyed.

"No wonder you decided to take a vow of abstinence," he mocked as Neji rolled his eyes.

You walked out of the kitchen and so did Napel. Neji had witnessed the whole thing except he saw your face was filled with terror. Napel finally realized you were cheating on him and decided to confront you about it. He was hoping now you would be publicly humiliated infront of his family. He didn't know if he was going to keep it quite so Napel could still be better then him or not but  no matter what Neji was satisfied with the look of horror on your face.
