The Girl next Door: Mezou Shoji × Reader part 7

War broke out in the city, and protests and riots happened over what happened to you. Bakugo won the sports festival reluctantly because Shoto didn't give it his all. Your seat was taken out of the classroom, and the reason was to save space for a while. Due to your injuries, no one knew if you were going to make it or not. They tried to visit you in the hospital, but Aizawa flat out told them all that no one could see you due to what was happening outside the walls of the school. Kids in the school weren't lovely to you either, and half were on your side while half were against you. Since that was the case, they weren't allowed to discuss you in classrooms or the halls.

Bakugo waited for you to play with the food he made, but you weren't there. Momo was waiting for your mother to be on the phone and talk about the latest fashion and hair tips. Shoto was waiting for your dad to tell him how proud of him for doing something as basic as passing a test. Denki and Fumikage were waiting for Jake to help them with math and for him to teach it in a way that made sense. Some other students were waiting for Nova to teach them how to fix cars and other things without powers. Some students were waiting for your sister  Sarah to work out with them. Mezou waited for you to pop in and take you somewhere without him saying yes. They all missed you, and it was sickly quiet without you. You changed everything with your happiness and willingness to do things with everyone. Your family invited them all with open arms, and now, without them all around and war outside, it was a lot.

"This is fucking stupid!" Bakugo said as he threw the pan, he set aside for you with papers and toothpicks.

He didn't even need them out; he just knew you would want to play with them or have them for a snack. He made so much extra that it could feed the class twice. He liked cooking, but not for everyone. You appeared to the spicy food he made, and you gave him hugs even though he hated them. Now he wished he could yell at you and tell you how much he hated you, and you would say it back, thinking he meant he cared in his way. He blasted the pan, sending it flying and making people panic.

Mezou was outside your room and opened it up. It hadn't been touched in two weeks, but now he was met with a horrifying sight. Your room was empty except for some pictures that were on the floor. They were frames, and they were broken. He picked up the photos to see how happy you were with them. There was a shirtless picture of him sitting on the couch reading while you were holding Bakugo in a chokehold. Shoto was doing homework as Mina and Momo were in the background, hitting each other with pillows.

You turned Dinki into a girl while he slept and Fumikage, too. You put a unicorn washable tattoo on Shoto when he was asleep; you worked out with Izuku and threw him a bit too far in the air excitedly when he broke his bench press record. You tried every design idea Momo had for clothes. All these pictures were lying scattered on your floor. Were you mad at them for not stopping them?

Bakugo was yelling, and Kirishima was trying to calm him down, as well as the other students who were equally as mad you were gone, and there was no way of knowing if you were alright or not. Mezou went to your house, and it was boarded up and vandalized. Your brother's house was boarded up, but it wasn't touched. He called your phone, hoping that maybe you were out of the hospital now. I'm praying you were going to tell him you were safe somewhere.

"The phone number that had been called is incorrect or out of service; please call a different number. Goodbye," the answering machine said as it hung up on him.

He called three more times and got the same thing. He was angry and tried to ignore it, but if he just stopped you as you asked, then maybe you would be here laughing and messing with him. He returned to the door and slammed the door shut, making everyone look at him.

"She's not coming back. Her room is empty, and so is her house. Her brother's house, too," he said as they watched him return to his room.

"You don't think?" Momo asked as thinking of you dying made her tear up.

"It's possible she couldn't say the words, and that guy kept making her stand up with his quirk. It's possible," Shoto said as he looked at his phone and checked the news, only to see riots and unrest.

"She didn't deserve that," Minoru said as anger filled his body.

"It doesn't say on the news that she died," Shoto pointed out.

"You think her parents would say anything if she died? Look around at what's going on!" Bakugo yelled.

"That boy walked away scot-free. Nothing was done about him; he's not in the news anymore, though," Mina said.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Bakugo asked.

"Yeah, the article says it was her quirk that did it, but she was bleeding before that," she said.

"We have to find her, no one is telling us anything, and she is one of us. She didn't mean to and tried hard not to do that. She probably thinks we hate her for turning, but everyone's quirks get our control sometimes," Kirishima said.

"I agree we need to find her and give her our support," Tanya said.

"We can't; we have to remain neutral otherwise-" Yuga paused.

"Shut up no one wants to hear that shit you are spewing out of your mouth!" Bakugo yelled.

Mezo was heartbroken that you were gone and called your number several times. But there was no change. He wanted you back, anything else.

You were at a fair with your parents, brother, and sister. Nova and Jake tagged along, too. You were thinking about calling Mezo on the new phone number you had to get. You missed your friends badly.

"Hopefully, this will be fun," your mother said as you saw all the happiness.

"When I call my friends?" You asked.

"Not for a while; I don't want them dragged down with you. I don't want them not to be heroes because they side with us. Maybe next month," your father said as you sighed.

"Okay," you said as you tried having fun, knowing your friends were probably worried about you.

You sighed weakly, wanting to be there with your friends again. Your stab wound was still healing, and you were told not to use your monster form for any reason until it was healed. You had about a month and a half left, maybe longer. You didn't know if your friends were okay, and you needed to check on them.

People started screaming and running away, and you looked up to see the Ferris wheel was moving faster than it should have been. You could hear the metal twisting, and you saw a blip of flame appear.

"Oh no, guys, the wheel is out of control!" You said as your parents looked at the two-hundred-foot-tall wheel.

"What do we do?!" Your brother yelled, terrified.

"I'll clear a way out of this park; you guys fix it if you can!" Nova said as she quickly went into the crowd.

"Christ, the wheel is going to fall off!" Your father said.

"You can't hold it by yourself; none of us are strong enough to keep that thing from tipping!" Sarah said.

"I am," you said.

"Y/n no! You are hurt, and your monster-" your mother said.

"I can hold it long enough to weld the pieces back together. Sand and Sarah can slow it down and get people out of it! I know, but- I can do it," you said as you disappeared. Before your parents or family had anything to say about it, you took off running and disappeared.

"Stupid fucking-" the operator said as the controls were fried, and you quickly started going from car to car until you got above the place where you needed to be. It broke free, so you jumped.

Steam left your body, and you grew as big as you could. You grabbed one side, then the other, and pulled the pieces together. You were breathing hard, trying to fight the urge to grow angry. Your Father and sister slowed the wheel down and started ripping off doors to get people off while Your mother and Jake were teleporting to get everyone that was high up. Jake went to the contest and sighed as he looked at them.

"I can't fix this; these circuits are fried!" Jake said.

"We don't need you to fix it, Jake. Get everyone to safety now!" Your father ordered as Jake looked around.

"Okay, calm, math. Divide that by that. Force and weight, angles. Circumstances of wheel, material.... oh God. The wheel is going to start a chain reaction! This whole place is going to go up in flames like the Hindenburg!!" Jake yelled.

"What?" Sarah asked.

"There are propane tanks, helium tanks; all these places might not have flame retarded tops! There's not even a fire hydrant that I can see!" Jake said.

"Everyone listen up in a nice, calm, orderly fashion. Leave the area at once. The wheel is having some issues, and to ensure no one gets hurt, you all need to leave now!" Nova said through a microphone.

"Y/b is the only one keeping this place from burning to the ground; she needs to hold it for at least fifteen minutes!" Jake said as you tried to weld the pieces together, but you weren't burning enough.

Your wound reopened, and you were getting weaker, not stronger.

"Y/n baby, you need to stay like that for as long as possible, okay?" Your mom asked as you nodded.

"I can't hold it much longer; my wound reopened, and I am not burning hot enough to weld the pieces together," you said as your mom smiled a bit.

"It's okay, it's okay. We don't need you to hold it for long, okay? You are doing great," your mother said as your grip on a part of the wheel was slipping.

"Um, Y/n needs help Shoto said as Bakugo took his phone.

"Everyone to the Fairgrounds!" Bakugo yelled as Kirishima went to Mezo's room and nearly broke it down.

"Y/n needs help; she's at the fair. Her wound re-opened!" Kirishima said as Mezou got up quickly.

"Where is she?" He asked.

"At the fair, she's okay, but for how long, I don't know," he said as everyone in your class left the building quickly.

"Hold on, we are coming you stupid idiot!" Bakugo yelled.

You were weakening and you couldn't hold on much longer.

"Y/n?!" Samuel asked as he saw you holding the wheel together.

"Samuel you need to make me mad! I'm bleeding out and I can't hold this thing together much longer. I need to weld the two pieces together," you said.

"Y/n... I can't do that, you nearly killed me last time!" He said.

"There are propane tanks and other tanks I can see from here. If I let go of this wheel... it will burn everyone around this area. Can you use your quirk to help me hold it?" You asked.

"Y/n, I can't. I need to be touching dirt or the ground. I'm not doing either, I didn't know you could do this," he said.

"Neither did I... I just headed here," you said as you heard a kid scream for her mother, and you said your brother and mother were working hard to get the people at the top while your sister and father were trying to stabilize the wheel and move the tanks away.

"You just..." he asked.

"Yeah, stupid right?" You asked as your arms started steaming.

"No, no, no! Angry I need to be angry!" You said as you tried to think of everything that made you mad but it wasn't helping.

"Time to go!" Your mother said as she grabbed Samuel.

"No, get her! She's turning back!" Samuel said as you were turning back, your mother got him, and the wiring caught fire.

"That's not good," you said as one piece you were holding exploded, and you turned back to normal.

"Come on get out of here!" Bakugo yelled.

"Izuku throw me she's falling!" Mezo yelled as he saw your clothes on fire.

"Got it!" He said as he wrapped him in his whip and threw him hard.

"Come on last twenty more seconds!" You thought as your brother grabbed Nova who was trying to get to you.

She screamed for him to let her go as an explosion went off. He teleported, and he hit the ground as part of the wheel hit his leg hard, breaking it. Sarah grabbed Jake and other people who were in the area and took off running through the flames to get out she looked over her shoulder and saw you falling. Your father and mover Fer are trying to get people out of the way and injure people. While Samuel was trying to put out some of the fires to keep it from spreading.

"Someone help us!" Samuel screamed, then saw Mezou being thrown, and your whole class was coming to your aid.

Samuel paused, seeing your class not even in their hero costumes, ready to save the day. Some of your classmates were in their pajamas and doing everything they could to help out.

You tried to grab onto something, but then you felt something hit you hard. There were explosions and creaking metal everywhere that was exploding. You hit the ground and yet you were fine.

"I told you... I was going to spot you," you heard a familiar voice say as Mezou looked down at you and tears welled in your eyes.

"But...," you paused.

"We have your back; you are a part of our group," he said as he looked at the others who were pulled to safety.

"Look out!" you said as you flipped Mezou over barely missing a spike hitting the both of you.

"Oh no, I burned your clothes, sorry," you said as he saw his clothes were burned from your clothes and your quirk.

"It's okay, they can be replaced not you," he said softly.

You looked around and saw the fire burning everything, and you got off of him and held your wound.

"You're bleeding," he said as he tried to stop the bleeding.

"Hey look out!" Samuel yelled as he saved them both from getting hit by falling debris.

Mezo protected you only to look up and see a wall of dirt protecting them. The bed fell to the ground next to him, and Mezou saw Samuel and put you behind him quickly.

"You aren't going to hurt her again!" He said.

"I'm not; she is losing too much blood. I can make a temporary patch if it's okay with you. I know I caused this mess and I'm sorry. I know it doesn't begin to cut it but she saved so many people even though she knew turning into that monster again could get her killed. I was blinded by hate and I shouldn't have been. I'm so sorry about bullying you and hurting you. Your quirk uses a lot of calories doesn't it?" He asked as you nodded weakly.

"Okay, I'll see what I can do here," he said as he took off his belt and gave it to him.

"It will help you put pressure on her wound. She's small so my belt will wrap around her a couple of times," he said.

"Y/n!" Izuku yelled as your class quickly went to you.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay? You fell far!" Momo asked as she made bandages.

"Don't ever do that again! No more disappearing!" Bakugo yelled.

"Good job Y/n!" Kirishima said.

"But this place went up in flames," you said

"The police are coming, I don't think anyone died," Denki said.

"Are you feeling okay?" Shoto asked as he was putting out the fires with his ice.

"You all came for me?" You asked.

"Well, of course silly! You are my friend; even if we get expelled, it's worth it," Mina said.

"Yeah, we didn't help you before and we are sorry about that," Tsuyu said weakly.

"It's okay," you said.

"No its not. Mezo said you asked him to stop you. You told him because he was like you. When we saw things getting out, we all should have stopped you or tried. We didn't and now a way broke out because we didn't stop it or try to help you," Fumikage said.

"I almost killed my whole family last time they helped me. I'm glad you didn't," you said as you tried to get up but you felt weak.

"Y/n!" Nova said as your mother and father came by as well.

"Zack got hurt but he's going to be fine. He just broke his leg. I'm so happy you are alright," she said as she hugged you.

"I don't feel so great," you said as you threw up.

"Thank you all so much really. Let's get you to the hospital okay?" Your father said as he picked you up carefully.

"What about my friends?" You asked weakly.

"It's okay, just breathe and worry about yourself right now," he said as he carried you off.
