It had been a long, hard fight for Inosuke the last couple of days. He was by himself fighting a demon, but the bad news was the trip up here wasn't as bad as the demon he was fighting. Inosuke was doing everything he could to kill it, but sadly, this was where he was going to meet his maker. He was bleeding heavily, and the demon was laughing at him. His boar head he always on the ground, covered in his blood as well as the demons he was fighting.
"You know there is a beautiful family that lives not too far from here. I might pay them a little visit and see if they have any daughters," the demon chuckled as Inosuke had to keep him away from there.
"Over my dead body!" He yelled as the demon smacked him hard into a tree with his tail knocking the tree down.
"I was intending on it!" The demon chuckled as Inosuke couldn't get up.
For the first time, he lost, and now the family the demon was originally after was going to die, and it was his fault. He was going to pay with his life, and so were those people.
Your father woke up as soon as he heard the tree fall. You woke up as well because it was close by then you heard a scream.
"Y/n stay here, your father said as your brother and mother were fast asleep still.
"Dad, if someone is getting attacked by a wild animal, I need to go with you. Safety in numbers first off, plus you are training me how to be a doctor, remember?" You asked as he sighed and grabbed his medicine bag.
"It might be very bad, Y/n," he said as you nodded.
"I already know that," you said as you got up and followed him outside with a lantern.
"I... win," Inosuke said weakly as he grabbed his boar head and started to head home.
He was so badly hurt he didn't know which way to go but straight so that was what he did. He felt like he was walking for hours, and his crow went off to get the nurses from the Butterfly mansion. His legs gave out, and he hit the ground hard, making him drop his sword and the boar head he was carrying. His breathing was labored, and finally, he passed out due to extreme exhaustion.
"I could have sworn that the tree breaking was close by. I don't see anyone out here," your father said as you sighed.
"We have to check still. No one is going to be out here for days, maybe weeks. So we have to keep trying," you said as your father smiled.
"That's my girl, I hope the person's injuries aren't too bad. We don't have that many supplies in our halfway house.
"We can move them once they are stable. We are leaving early in the morning still, right?" You asked.
"Yes, unless the person needs our help now. When we stabilize, then we can move," he said.
"Got it, you said as you saw a blood trail.
"Dad, I found a trail," you said as you looked at it.
"Let's follow it. That's a lot of blood, Y/n. Good work," your father said as a couple of hundred feet later you found Inosuke lying on the ground practically dead.
You looked at him shocked but quickly opened up your little medicine back and went over to him to try to stop the bleeding.
"He must have gotten attacked by an animal," your father said as he noticed his weird attire and his sword.
"I think he's a samurai," your father added as he tried to help you stop the bleeding.
"Hey! Hey! Can you hear me?" You asked as you tried to wake the man up but to no prevail.
"Honey, this is bad. I don't think he's going to make it through the night, but we can try to save him, okay? " he said as you weren't listening to him.
For once, you were doing what you thought you needed to do, including giving him a poison antidote just in case he was bitten by something while he was unconscious. You cleaned the wounds the best you could with what you had, but he was going to need care for the rest of the night.
"Okay, I think I stopped most of the bleeding, I don't see any bruises that would indicate internal bleeding," you said as your father nodded.
"Okay, gosh, he's heavy! I can't pick him up by myself. You take an arm, and I take an arm," he said as your father started to lift him.
You grabbed his things, then put the boar head in your medical bag and grabbed his swords. It was tricky getting this guy back to the halfway house. By the time you did, it was morning, and your younger brother and your mother were up looking for you both.
Once they saw you, they knew why you were up. You barely managed to lay him down on the floor without dropping him. He was very fit and couldn't be more than eighteen. He was beat up and bloody, and he had very feminine features. If you didn't know better, you would have thought this man was a girl. Thankfully, he wasn't wearing a shirt, which made it a lot easier for you.
It took seven hours to stabilize him, and you and your father were both tired, but things still needed to be done. Your father went out to get some food, and your brother and mother did the same while you stayed behind and took care of the guy you found in the woods.
After dinner, you volunteered to stay up with him because now the man you found was running a fever. So he was going to need even more care than originally thought.
"Come on, you can do it, please wake up. I want to get you home to your family. You must have one," you said as you put a cold compression on his forehead.
You sighed, realizing that saying that wasn't going to magically make him wake up. But whoever he was, he was sure a fighter and was doing his best to live. You started writing down your notes for your father, so if you fell asleep, he would know what you have done.

You were going to write down more, but you were so tired you put the notebook down and laid down next to the guy you found. You looked over at him and held his hand in yours as you looked up at the ceiling.
"Please pull through. I have never lost a patient yet. I don't want you to be the first. People need you around, I know they do. I can feel it, I know this is stupid, and you can't hear me at all, but I would like to think people can when they aren't awake. Just please for me do me a favor and wake up soon. I would rather you not die without your friends and family with you. What were you doing out in the woods anyway with a boar head and those swords? There aren't any swords I have seen, and let me tell you, I have helped several samurai in my day with my dad. I would love to hear what you do for a living with swords like that. Also, the crazy outfit you have on, well, it's not so crazy but I've never seen anyone else wear boar skin as pants before or have boar head," you said with a small smile and yawned.
"Nope, have to stay awake," you said as you got up and started moving around a bit, then sat down next to him.
"Just make it through the night, please," you said as you went back to work, trying to help him get better as soon as possible.
