Ch3: Beginning of Shinjuku

(Clovis POV - The Next Day)

"And you are certain none of the terrorists you captured know nothing of the heist of RZX-7 Lancelot Club?"

"None at all, either the Elevens are too dumb, kept in the dark, or too stubborn to reveal anything. The only one who seemed to know anything was an uncouth brute known as Yoneda. We won't be able to get anything out of him anymore." I sighed out while looking Schneizel through our video call.

Considering that the Knightmare frame was stolen from Camelot property and it was a prototype for the next generation of frames it was unsurprising that he gets involved.

Though I would prefer not to get involved with the snake as much as possible.

Which was a lot more then I had wished it to be.

"I see, and what happened?" Schneizel asked.

"That brute after hearing of the heist tried to break out. It took about eight guards to put him down, killing two and crippling another for life before being gunned down. Given he was that apparent leader and the rest are still not talking I doubt they would know anything. They are being sent out to one of our facilities to either gather more information which I doubt the Elevens will have and for test subjects. We are starting to run low after all." I said simply.

As much as I hated to admit it, I couldn't have gotten as far as I could in Code R without the resources that Schneizel has provided. I might be in charge of this little venture, but I couldn't have gotten far with his backing.

Just the way he had possibly planned.

It was hard to tell, but let's just say I had a few things hidden up my sleeve incase Schneizel decides to move forward with whatever games he decides to play.

"I figured as much." Schneizel said before his right hand man/possible boytoy, Earl Kanon Maldini leaned in and whispered something into my elder brother's ear.

Honestly I wasn't too sure about their true relationship given Kanon has been described as his right hand man in public and private and that Schneizel has been seen with multiple woman on his arms for hours. And giving how close the two are their are plenty of rumors about the two of them.

Almost as much as for my younger brothers Castor and Pollux...

"It seems like there had been a development in our situation, a systems admin at the base has just been found to be a member of the guilty party and possibly our main suspect." Schneizel said as Kanon stepped back behind him.

"So you believe it wasn't just the Elevens behind the heist?" I asked, really hoping it wasn't.

"Possibly, the admin was excellent at hiding his involvement but not on where he received his newly acquired wealth. He was bribed to by them enough time to enter the facility. This was his second attempt as the first time was from someone high up in the JLF chain of command and the second was from someone within the E.U. when the former backed out. The second source is the most believable given their contact information and the transfer of funds originate from Germany. But this wouldn't follow their usual behavior concerning Elevens. They are considered disposable by most of the command, so to have been chosen for this task without a direct observer and given the accounts of their skills, we might be dealing with either someone withing their chain of command sympathizing with the Elevens and acting out in your area, someone going behind their backs to deal a crucial blow to Britannia or their own ends, and the most worrying of possibilities a third party working with Elevens or another of our Empire's enemies." Schneizel said seriously, getting me pale.

If this was the first two options it would spiral out into an international incident that could lead from anything from just an increase in the war effort and the E.U. being able to push back Britannia even further to losing my position as Viceroy depending on father's mood.

The third possibility is the trickiest out of them all, ranging from nothing more then someone starting up to an international resistance against Britannian rule. Many such organizations have sprung up in all conquered areas.

Most had been crushed, especially by Cornelia and the more covert branches of our government.

Still if it is the third possibility it could from anything from an organization or a well connected individual assisting Eleven terrorists to spark a rebellion to a possible international cell.

Either way I was dealing with an unknown, one that I will possibly have to deal with.

One that I will gladly exterminate.

"So what are we going to do about this Schneizel? Despite the possible origins of the thieves, they still have a prototype Knightmare frame superior to most of the frames out in deployment. I already have military personal scouring all over the place and triple checking anyone coming or going in or out of this bloody island since I learned the frame was stolen with no results so far." I told him.

"Keep what you are doing, but if no results present itself in 24 hours cut your loses. The frame stolen is a prototype and according to the report still containing a major error that could damage it. Yet is inferior to it's successor, the Z-01 Lancelot according to Aspund." Schneizel said, surprising me.

"You mean that man actually finished it, last time I saw him he was crying about losing his baby while eating pudding?" I asked incredulously, still surprised at how Schneizel was capable of tolerating that madman despite how brilliant he was.

And last I knew that experimental frame was still a week away from being able for combat trials.

"You would be surprised what he can do with the right motivation. However the frame is going through it's final checks before it can be deployed today. Just in time to move the subject." Schneizel said serious, and I immediately got what he might be suggesting.

Code R might be a possible target. I already have the best forces in the entire Area on standby in case something happens. But given that there was an unknown variable in this area, it was possibly for the best.

"I was planning on it anyway, but I do appreciate the extra help. Though I am more concerned on what you are going to do on your end?" I inquired, only getting Schneizel to shake his head.

"Nothing to concern yourself with, I will make sure the backlash will not rob you of your position and if everything goes to plan than soon we will have nothing to worry about." Schneizel said, before a alarm began to sound off from Maldini's phone.

"Prince Schneizel it is about time for your meeting with His Majesty." Schneizel's right hand man said, getting the snake to nod before facing me.

"Seems like I have to cut this meeting short. I have to discuss the current state of the warfront in the E.U. with father. You know what to do and take care Clovis." Schneizel said as he cut off the video call.

Once he did so I sighed as I pulled up a bottle of wine and proceeded to fill my glass with it.

This was becoming too much of a mess then what I was used to in this God forsaken Area.

I needed a break, but making sure Code R does not fall into the wrong hands is my main priority.

I can make a quick visit at a party hosted by one of my main financial backers for an hour before overseeing it's shipment out of the Tokyo Settlement.

Along with some painting, work, a meeting with my lawyer about my will, and this mess with the stolen Knightmare Frame it had been one hell of a morning.

I need a little drink...

I was about to take a sip of my wine before I got another call, coming from my mother.

So it seems she is finally getting back to me on my idea.

They don't know that Y/N is still alive, but with this maybe I can get close to him to find out what happened to Lelouch and Nunnally. And if they were still alive.

Besides that...I haven't seen mother and Laila in so long.

I looked between my glass and the phone call before putting it on my desk and pushing it aside.

It could wait until after I make this call.

(Y/N POV - A warehouse in the Shinjuku Ghetto - 2 1/2 hours later)

"Are you certain that you do not require my assistance master Y/N?" Sayoko said from the phone as I double checked that the truck and the Knightmare Frame was secure.

We stashed it here a while ago along the route at which to poison gas had was going to be transported. Just making sure that no one can burst in and take it.

"And I told you Sayoko I will be alright. If everything goes smoothly than I should be home later. And if not then I will still come home. I promised Lelouch as much to tell him the truth." I said, getting her to sigh.

"I know, but I still can't imagine how your siblings will react if something were to happen to you master Y/N." Sayoko said, getting me to wince.

"Something that I think about all the time. I was believed to have been dead for them for three years, I am not repeating that mistake a second time. Please just make sure Nunnally and Lelouch are fine until I get back." I said, left unsaid what would happen if I never came back.

Which was something that I was going to do my damest to make sure never becomes reality.

Yet considering how unpredictable an operation like this could turn out it was always the best to be prepared for the worst.

"Just make to come home safely, master Y/N." Sayoko sighed out.

"Don't worry, I promise that I will. Give Nunnally my apologies if I take too long." I said.

"I will and take care master Y/N." Sayoko said before ending the call, getting me to sigh.

It was time to begin.

I exited the warehouse and made sure to lock the doors behind me and head towards a car that was bought for a fair price.

Honestly it was a junker, but it made a good get away vehicle. That and if caught it was licensed under a former JLF who disappeared 2 years ago. Last I heard he pissed off someone high up in the Yoshitomi-gumi from what I hear.

So any Britannian officer that would run the plate would think it belonged to a regular Eleven or a terrorist.

So I unlocked the door and switched on the car, with the IBBC playing.

Say what you want about Britannian news, this one has the least amount of propaganda on any network, especially the BBN. Just the news with multiple sources of information from areas outside of Imperial territories including E.U. and the Chinese Federation. Sometimes going against the wishes of the Empire itself to report the news.

Normally such an organization would have been shut down with prejudice, but given their resilience against every single attempt to shut them down in the past few decades and my father's... appreciation of strength they have been allowed to continue their broadcasting.

And it delivered, revealing that a truck carrying 'medical supplies' had been commandeered by Eleven terrorists and was heading down the route from the plans.

Earlier then scheduled, something must've gone wrong. Something that I was expecting to happen at some point, just not to early.

Should have enough time to fire up the Knightmare and prepare for the resistance group to pass soon enough and make sure they get away with the poison gas. And help with whatever retaliation Clovis would release.

I sighed, bracing myself for what was to come before I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

It was from Rivalz, Lelouch's best friend.

Both of who everyone on the council thought that I was on my way to drag back from their gambling once again.

Perfect excuses to cover up why I would return late from a terrorist attack

"Rivalz, where are you and Lelouch right now? You have heard the news about the terrorists on the road right now." I said.

"I only just heard about it, and they nearly us over before crashing into a construction site and taking off." Rivalz said, getting me to stiffen before letting out a sigh of relief.

If the cannister had ruptured, it would have all been for naught with Lelouch being there.

"Well I am glad that the two of you are alright, still you two should head back. Class will be starting soon." I said.

"I plan on it, but have you heard from Lelouch?" Rivalz said, getting my blood to run cold.

What?

"Why, I thought that he was with you?" I asked, trying my best to keep my tone even.

"He was, but he went to get a better look at the truck after it crashed and now I can't find him anywhere. I thought that he would have called you." Rivalz said, getting me to pause.

Lelouch, he wouldn't...

No wait, I can see him doing that.

It is often said that the road to hell was usually paved with good intentions. Considering my younger brother most likely just tried to see if the drivers were alright, he was probably going to be in over his head soon.

"Y/N are you there?" Rivalz called out over the phone.

"I'm going to have call you back." I said simply as I put on my seatbelt.

"Y/-" Rivalz tried to say before I hung up on him and immediately tried to start the car, only getting the engine to splutter.

"Come on you piece of junk." I muttered as continued to try to start it before the engine roared to life. "Finally!"

Shifting the gear and slamming my foot onto the gas, I speed away from the warehouse and drove towards the highway.

Lelouch you better be alive when I get there!

(5 minutes later)

Finding the stolen truck was easier then I thought it would be, given that there was three VTOL currently flying after it.

Maybe it was a bad idea to go straight after Lelouch in just this junker and not not the Knightmare.

But the gunships firing at the truck quickly changed my mind.

I swerved out of the way as they started to fire upon me.

Until the back of the truck opened up to reveal a Slash Harken crashing into the closest VTOL's cockpit, causing it to go down.

From the back of the truck a red Glasgow emerged from it and landed onto the highway. It speed past me and began to deal with the VTOLs.

Seems like this rebel cell was bit more prepared then what both myself and the JLF first thought. They had a Glasgow, an older but still reliable model of Knightmare. And justing by the skill they had with dodging gunfire and taking down another VTOL they had a capable piolet amongst their midst.

But I can focus on that later, right now I have to get into that truck. Though given the doors to the truck had been shut.

That and another VTOL had arrived and immediately deployed a Sutherland to combat the Glasgow.

And another Sutherland used it's landspinners to propel itself onto the highway and right infront of the truck at the intersection ahead.

And it started to open fire with it's rifle on the truck's cabin.

As the truck started to turn, I opened the car's sunroof and reached into the center console.

The truck turned onto the interaction and drove off as the Sutherland kept firing at it before turning it's rifle towards me.

Which I responded by driving at full speed towards the Knightmare frame, making it look like I was going to ram myself into it.

And judging by the way the Sutherland backed up a little bit, it seemed to be working.

"How simpleminded." A woman's voice called out through the speakers as the Sutherland backed up before readying the rifle to gun me down.

Thank you Britannian ignorance.

Before it could fire a single bullet, I swerved into the intersection and threw up to flash bang I kept in the central console. With the speed of the car and tossing it out of the sunroof at the apex of turn made it go off a few feet from the Sutherland's factsphere.

It provided the distraction before racing down the intersection after the truck, but not before the Sutherland opened fire and one of the bullets passed through the rear window and came centimeters from grazing me before breaking through the windshield.

Seeing how close the bullet came to hitting me, I paled a little before calming myself before following the truck into an abandoned subway tunnel.

These tunnels span the entire length of the ghetto and into parts of the main settlement, so it was best to follow the truck until it reached it's destination, which was hopefully still according to plan.

After that I needed to get Lelouch out of there fast.

Clovis will come after the terrorists for if he was found to have had been making poison gas he would lose everything.

There is no telling what lengths he will go to, but I expect nothing short of a massacre.

I need to get Lelouch and get him into the Lancelot Club.

It would be a bit tight fit for the both of us, but honestly it was the best way for us to survive whatever Clovis would throw at us.

(Half an hour minutes later - Tunnels under the Shinjuku Ghetto)

It took long enough but finally the truck stopped, more like gently crashed into a wall.

It was a spacious expanse of tunnel and finally I could get a signal down here.

Looks like we were not that far from the warehouse, still better safe to be sorry I reached into the central console and pulled out another flashbang and a detonator. I did a double check of my weapons before exciting the car.

Drawing my pistol I careful approached the truck, ready to shoot anything that wasn't Lelouch if the need came to be.

And given how much time had passed their were bound to be soldiers combing through the tunnels for the gas that is probably the best solution.

A few moments later I reached the doors and was about to open them, when I finally felt like something buzzing in the back of my head.

What the-

I have finally found you as well! I've found both of my-

"Y/N, what are you doing here?" Lelouch asked as he opened the truck's doors, breaking off whatever just happened.

I quickly pondered what had happened.

That sound was like that of someone talking, but there was no one here at the moment but us. Except maybe the truck driver, but I doubt I could hear whoever they are from here.

So just what was that?

I just shook my head, I could focus on that later.

For now...

"I should be asking you that Lelouch, I was going to be dragging you and Rivalz back from gambling again. Then the next thing I know is that Rivalz called and you ended up in a truck hijacked by a resistance cell." I sighed out.

"Well I never expected to end up in a truck with terrorists and a chemical weapon." Lelouch said snidely, getting me to notice the large vacuum sealed contraption behind him. "I take it that this has something to do with what you wished to tell me tomorrow, isn't it?"

Damn it, should have expected him to figure that out.

"Fine I will admit that and tell you everything, but for now what is more important is to get you out of here before Clovis calls in an urban renewal." I said, shocking Lelouch before he regained his composure.

"Given the contents on this truck I shouldn't have expected anything less." Lelouch said, a slight twinge of anger in his voice. "So how exactly do you have a plan to get us out of here?"

"Oh it is not that kind of plan, there is a warehouse not that far from here. I'll explain on the way, but for now take this you are going to need this more then I do." I said as I handed Lelouch my pistol.

My younger brother took it without a second thought and began to inspect it.

"Are you certain that you will not need this Y/N?" Lelouch inquired.

"I've been training with Sayoko, so I have more then enough weapons on my person. Besides you were always a crack shot." I said, getting Lelouch to nod.

"Fair enough, now lead the way." Lelouch said, getting me to nod.

"Alright then let's-" I cut myself off when I saw a Britannian soldier running towards us at full speed, leaping into the air in an attempted to kick Lelouch. "Get down!"

Lelouch ducked down as he ducked down and I jumped into the air to intercept it with a kick of my own before being pushed back.

Shit, judging by the uniform this was most likely an Honorable Britannian sent en mass to scout out the location of the poison gas. And seemed to be quite the martial artist as well.

We broke off our stalemate before he rushed forward attempting to strike me in the head.

I barely dodged his attack before he managed to hit me in the face.

While a little dazed, the solider tried to slam me onto the ground. Only to have to step back as Lelouch took a shot at him, the bullet almost grazing him.

Taking the chance I slammed his head against the truck's wall, his face mask's visor cracking.

However the soldier regained his composure and rushed towards Lelouch, knocking the gun from his hands and pinning him to the floor.

"Enough of the senseless murder, terrorists! I am not going to allow you to release the poison gas!" The solider shouted out at Lelouch, before I tackled him off of Lelouch and held the soldier against the wall.

"Okay I admire your determination, but can't you tell by our uniforms we are Britannians not terrorists." I said calmly, making sure to apply a little more pressure to the soldiers throat as he struggled to break free.

Lelouch hasn't began to go against Britannian yet, beside I considered myself a revolutionary rather then a terrorist. But that really just a matter of perspective.

"And I am here not by choice. But this poison gas, the only people willing to make it would be Britannians." Lelouch said, anger building in his tone as he picked up the gun and walked up to us.

"No way..." The solider said as he stoped trying to break free from my grasp.

"So you want to stop the 'senseless murder', there is only one solution!" Lelouch said, anger and resentment building in his tone with each word. "To obliterate Britannia!"

Honestly maybe it wasn't a good idea to declare it infront of a Britannian soldier, but damn does Lelouch have a way with words.

"So you haven't changed a bit Lelouch." The soldier said, surprising me.

And surprised me even more once he removed his mask and helmet.

"Suzaku?!" I said shock, haven't seen him and seven years and immediately let go of him.

I had never expected to see him again. Especially after Tōdō-sensei lamenting that he had joined up to become an Honorable Britannian in the military five years ago.

Glad to see he is still alive though.

"So you become a Britannian soldier?" Lelouch asked incredulously, most likely deducing the reason why.

"And you and Y/N have become-" "We are not terrorists, this truck had crashed and I went to help. But then it drive off with me in it." Lelouch said, cutting off Suzuka from calling us terrorists once again.

Honestly if he didn't do it, I would have.

"Lelouch, I have a hard time believing that. You are smart enough to make a better excuse. If that happened why is Y/N here and you have a gun?" Suzaku inquired, getting Lelouch to frown and myself to sigh.

"Seems like that you are as stubborn as always. But yes it does seem hard to believe, if I didn't hear it from Lelouch's friend when I was already on my way to drag them back to school. So I tracked him down here. As for the gun, it's mine and I carry it when I can outside of the school though not everywhere. Nearly got held at gunpoint by a moron earlier this week. " I said, getting Suzaku to nod. "That and Lelouch needs it more then I do."

"I'm sorry to hear that. Also I should have expected that, since no doubt you have not exercised all that much in the past seven years in like with Tōdō-sensei." Suzaku said, getting Lelouch to sigh irritably.

"Don't you start, seven years later and you are still just as stubborn as prying Kaguya off of Y/N." Lelouch said, getting me to shudder a little.

That little girl was a terror when we were younger. I'm only hoping that she has matured a bit given I heard that she was one of the six Kyōto Houses.

"While I would nothing then to catch up, I think it might be a good idea for us to leave, especially since you mentioned that is poison gas." I said, getting Suzuka to look between the gas and us.

He took a few moments before facing me.

"Do you have a way to get out of here. Normally I would have you two wait for my commanding officer to appear...but I take it the two of you wish to remain hidden from your brother." Suzuka said, getting Lelouch and myself to nod.

"I parked nearby a warehouse down one of these tunnels, shouldn't take us long to slip out." I said, getting Suzaku to nod.

Before we all heard a loud hiss from behind us.

Oh fuck!

The canister began to open and light emerged from it.

I took a deep breath as Suzuka placed his gas mask over Lelouch's mouth and nose. I then placed my gloves hand over his mouth and nose and done the same thing to myself.

We could probably hold out of a minute or two with the gas, but it was better then nothing.

So I waited for the gas to spill wait, with the three of us to backing away from the canister.

Only for it not to be gas inside.

The lids of the cannister popped open to reveal a young woman a little older then us with long green hair and golden eyes bound in a straight jacket.

What the hell?

She stared at us for a brief moment before collapsing onto the ground.

Well... couldn't say that I didn't expect this.

"That's not poison gas?" Suzuka said incredulously as the three of us began to sperate from each other.

"It's obviously not." I muttered as I approached the young woman to see if she was still alive.

She was locked in a vacuum sealed cannister for who knows how long. No normal human should be alive after being trapped in there for long enough.

"Suzaku, what does this girl have anything to do with poison gas?" Lelouch asked, as I checked for a pulse.

I let out a sigh or relief as she had one and looked to be stirring in her slumber.

"It's what we were all told during the briefing." Suzuka explained as I picked the woman up.

"Obviously they wouldn't trust those of lower rank with this. Suzaku they lied about a chemical weapon to cover up something even worse." I said, getting Lelouch to nod.

"Human experimentation, if the world finds out this Clovis will be far more the disinherited. It is the only reason she could possibly survive in that cannister." Lelouch said, shocking Suzaku.

"We need to get her out of here." I said simply as I walked past the both of them and out of the truck's trailer, placing the woman against the side of the vehicle.

Lelouch just nodded at that, likely figuring she might have information on what was really going on if she was willing to talk.

With the way Clovis was willing to cover this up as poison gas, this woman might be anything to a test subject, to a prototype super soldier, or a source of information.

There was too many unknown variables surrounding her right now. But what I do know is that she must not fall into Clovis's hands again.

"I'm going to check the tunnels ahead inorder to make sure we can make a run for it without any nasty surprises. Suzaku, can you keep an eye on Lelouch for a moment?" I asked him.

"Fine Y/N, but are you sure this is a good idea? I know we used to do something like this during seven years ago, but it isn't like the war anymore." Suzaku said, getting me to shake my head.

"Suzaku do you really think that matters to your higher ups, especially if they do know about the girl. Things are going to get chaotic in this ward soon. Besides we have survived worse then this seven years ago and this will only be about a minute or two. Need to make sure we can get out if this mess alive." I said sternly, getting Suzaku to look a little conflicted before nodding.

"Just make sure to inform us if you find anything or if trouble finds you. I would prefer not to lose you for another 3 years this time due to some trigger happy Britannians." Lelouch says dryly.

"Don't worry, as I said I will only begone for a minute."I said as I started to walk away and down to the tunnel towards the warehouse.

"Wait what does he mean by three years, what happened?" Suzaku asked in shock.

"Tell you sometime after we all get out of here." I said as I walked away from the two and the mysterious woman.

Given Suzaku's skills seemed to have only gotten more refined over the years and Lelouch at least is armed with a pistol, the two should be fine against a Britannian solider or resistance cell member tries to attack them.

Against multiple...not so much so I better hurry.

Walking past the front of the truck I stood at the enterance to the tunnel ahead I pulled out a burner phone and did the simplest thing possible.

Plotted the simplest course to the warehouse by looking up the address.

Few seconds later I had found the quickest route and discounting street routes, the tunnel system should take s to a warehouse not that far from where I stashed the Knightmare frame.

Okay with that settled there is one thing left to do and my true objective, check the cabin of the truck real quick.

If the driver was still alive and considering that they were willing to steal what they thought to be poison gas, then it was more then likely they had something to use if Clovis's men tried to get their hands on it again.

So I made my way to the trucks cabin on the other side of where Lelouch and Suzaku was and peered through the driver's side window...

And the cabin was rigged to explode. The wiring was crude, but effective and it seemed to be armed to activate at the flick of a switch.

As for the driver, he was bleeding out but alive.

Though he looked half dead lying on the seats and could barely move.

But was alive enough to try and reach for the switch once he caught sight of me.

Shit!

"Wait I'm not here to cause any trouble. My name is Fukuyama Y/N and I am here to help!" I said in Japanese, getting the man to pause before he could press the switch.

"You're from Ashford Academy, why would a student be here and want to help me?" The man question tensely as his hand hovered over the activation switch.

"Simple, my half brother came into the back of your truck after you nearly ran and his friend over before crashing and he ended up hitching a ride with you the entire way here. As for me, the two of us would more then love to screw over Britannia anyway we can. I came here to help on my own, but I would prefer if you did not blow me and him up." I said honestly, ready to toss the kuni I had hidden up my sleeve.

I would prefer not to use, but considering that this man could end our lives with just a flick of a switch I was not taking that chance.

Even a single finger twitch towards the switch and this blade will go straight through his hand.

The driver hesitated for moment, as if discerning if I was actually telling the truth or not.

Before letting out a pain filled laugh at that, his land not leaving the switch.

"So one of those damned brats are actually here. I swear if I could get my hands on him..." The man said with a groan.

"Believe me, I going to give him quite the tongue lashing to him and his friend if we can get out of this alive." I said dyly, getting the man to sigh.

"Older sibling I take it, Naoto used that same tone quite a bit." The man said with a sigh.

Wait a minute, Naoto.

"Would you happen to be a member of the Kōzuki resistance cell? I heard what happened to him, he sounded like a good man." I said honestly.

So that was the resistance cell, honestly should have put that together once I figured the route of the truck was going through the Shinjuku Ghetto. A decent sized cell, whose leader was killed just the other day on the news.

"He was." The man sighed out, before he looked towards the window outside of the cabin with my gaze following his.

To see a bunch of flashlights coming down the tunnels.

More Britannian soldiers possibly.

This wasn't good.

"They're here." The man said, reaching for the switch.

"Wait, give me a minute to get my brother and myself out." I said, before looking at a picture that was on the dashboard of the truck. "Is that your wife and daughter? Maybe we can get you out of here before the truck explode."

At that the man shook his head with a groan as he reached into the bloodstained coat he had on.

"Believe me, I wish. One of that Sutherland's rifle rounds managed to graze me. Even if I managed to get out of here I would only bleed out down here." The man said while pulling out a radio from his coat. "You were the one in that junker car that tried to ram into that frame?"

"That would be me." I said as he tossed me the radio.

"You have guts, I will give you that Fukuyama. If you truly wish to help us, get out of the tunnels use that to call Ohgi and explained what happened. Tell him Nagata gave you the radio and tell him what happened. He should be able to help get your brother to safety out of the ghetto if you wish. Just make sure to tell him or Kallen to deck Tamaki for me, that loudmouth screwed up operation." Nagata groaned out.

"I can do that." I promised, getting Nagata to nod while I pocketed the radio.

"I will give you a minute to get your brother out, after that you better be anywhere but here." He said getting me to nod as started to back away from the window "Long live Japan."

"Long live Japan." I said back to him before running to the other side of the truck to see Lelouch and the woman surrounded by members of Clovis's royal guards and Suzaku.

And I arrived just in time to see the leader of the guards shoot Suzaku in the back and him to collapse to the floor.

No!

"Suzaku!" Lelouch yelled out as guards trained their guns at Lelouch.

"Your just an ordinary Britannian student, but it seems like it just isn't your day today." The head guard said with a sadistic grin. "Kill him, we can claim the girl then."

Not that I was going to allow that to happen!

"Lelouch, avert your eyes!" I shouted out as I threw the flashbang. The royal guards had enough time to register my presence and to train their guns on me when the flashbang detonated infront of them.

It disoriented them enough that Lelouch opened fire and I threw a kuni at the lead guard.

I missed him by a hair, but it landed straight into the eye of a guard behind him.

"We need to get out of here now!" I said as I grabbed the woman and slung her over my shoulder and lead Lelouch after me towards the tunnel.

We soon passed the cab of the truck and gave Nagata a quick nod before looking back to see the royal guards starting to recover as they started to chase and open fire on us.

At least two or three of them dead.

"Kill th-" The head guard tried to tell out, but his yelling was cut off as the truck exploded.

Thank you Nagata, we won't let this chance go to race.

With the explosion we ran even faster down the tunnels.

We needed to get to the Knightmare Frame soon. It was probably the safest place to be in this ghetto soon enough. Cause if those guards were of any indication then they were only a prelude in what was to come.
