Hello, everybody. I have gathered you here now to remember the wonderful service so many airlines have given us with their beautiful Boeing 747-400s.
The 747 is an icon-the Queen of the Skies-and as many airlines have and still are operating these planes, many airlines have retired their 747s for multiple reasons.
The 747 wasn't all that economically friendly. It was getting old and was most likely retired due to it's long service and to make way for newer, next generation planes such as the 787 and 777.
Take United, for example. Just a mere few days ago, United Airlines retired their 747-400. Their Queen of the Skies served wonderfully for a whopping 47 years, something we will always remember. I am so terribly sad to see you go, 747.
United and many more airlines have retired and are on the fast road to retiring their 747s to make way for newer planes. I don't want this to happen.
The 747 is a majestic icon (looks much better than the a380 in my opinion) that will always be the Queen. The new 747-8I isn't doing so good in aviation, and is being beaten by Airbus's a380.
We need to remember and honor the service of these beautiful planes and their operating airlines. We (I) salute you, the true Queen of the Skies.
A special mention to British Airways, for just freshly renovating the interiors of their 36 747-400s. I hope that one day I will be lucky enough to fly on one, something that has always been a priority on my bucket list.
Remember the 747s. They don't deserve to be pushed out of the way for newer generations of planes-the 747 is still a well-known, recognizable icon that will always hold a place in my heart.
Just thank you, 747s everywhere, for the amazing service you have offered half of the world's population in the world of aviation.
