Nothing breaks like a heart

With shaking legs and trembling fingers, Jimin's head was squished between his knees and hands were pressed against the back of his head. Harsh pants caressed the grey walls of the cell and raven coloured lashes brushed against pink tinted cheeks. Jimin was shaking- trying to think of anything that could offer him a way out of the predicament he was trapped in.

"I...I could...run away." Jimin dragged his hands away from his hair and lifted his head into Baekhyun's direction. The latter sat, now freed of his ties, with his legs pulled up on the wooden chair and eyes glued on the ground bellow him.

Baekhyun ran his tongue over his lips and gave Jimin a hesitant shake of the head, "It won't work. Yoongi put the tracker in you, and you'll eventually meet up with them."

"Years later!" Jimin exclaimed, bouncing up to his feet and jabbing his finger into Baekhyun's direction. Jimin's lavender locks were messy and frazzled, they stuck up in all directions from the constant brushing of his fingers. Blue dust sprinkled underneath his eyes and a touch of red pinched at his eyes, "I can...shit the goddamn tracker out."

"It won't work." Baekhyun sighed in defeat, hanging his head low and resting his chin on his knees, "Yoongi thought about it too. He was worried that the tracker would leave your body too soon, so he asked one of his men to make it better. It was specifically created so that when it gets inside your stomach, your gastric acid would tear away the outer layer of the tracker and leave behind a seed sized one. The tracker would then stick to the walls of your stomach and after a while it would start to grow into your skin- making it impossible to remove."

"What..what the fuck." Jimin breathed out in horror, resting a hand over his flat stomach. He winced and shifted uncomfortably, imagining the sight of what was currently happening in his stomach.

Baekhyun looked up and offered him a comforting smile, "Don't worry, Yoongi made sure it wouldn't influence your health. You won't feel it at all and it won't cause any problems for your body, but if Yoongi kills you, it won't matter anyway." Baekhyun murmured under his breath, wincing as Jimin snapped his head towards him and sent him a nasty sneer.

"Shut the fuck up!" Jimin spat, preventing himself from pouncing on Baekhyun by turning his back on him with a huff.

Jimin hooked a hand around the swell of his hip and ran his other hand through his hair. He stared down at the surface of the wooden desk in front of him and the scratch marks carved into it. He shook his head and turned it to look at the entrance of the cell before exhaling a trembling breath and moving his legs towards the door.

"I need to..." Jimin stuttered, trying to control his breathing and oncoming tears. Everything was too much for Jimin to handle and he didn't know what to do. He had never felt so scared or hopeless before, it felt like Yoongi had left him on an abandoned island, and was watching him struggle to survive and get away, from afar, "I can't...I need to.." Jimin croaked, ripping the sheet off of the door and pulling the metal door open.

As Jimin stumbled into the hallway, he finally noticed that the lights had been turned back on, and some prisoners were walking around and lounging in other cells. He realised that the night had passed and he didn't get a lick of sleep- too busy trying to swallow down the reality of the situation, and trying to think about ways of escaping from it, only to get shot back down by Baekhyun.

Jimin's shoes squeaked against the ground and body trembled as he shuffled forward. His eyes bounced around the hallway- pausing at every single prisoner as if they were a part of Yoongi's men. Jimin felt like all of their eyes were boring into his skin, and as he walked past them, their heads turned and followed him until he left the hallway and escaped their gazes.

The paranoia in his chest bloomed and wrapped its vines around his limbs- making his legs move faster and head twist around like someone was looming behind him with a dagger in their hand.

Jimin quickly reached Taehyung's cell and slipped inside with wide eyes and harsh pants. His eyes lingered on the door behind him before he turned around to face the sleeping form of Taehyung. Taehyung was sleeping on the bottom bunk bed with his head peeking out from the edge of a fluffy duvet. His blond locks messily laid over his forehead and drool dripped down from his lip.

Jimin almost broke down in tears as he stumbled towards Taehyung and climbed onto his bed. He ignored the fact that the mattress next to Taehyung was warm, and dragged himself on top of the sleeping pup. Jimin sunk against Taehyung's warm chest and pushed his face into the crook of his neck.

"Tae." Jimin cried out brokenly, sinking his teeth into his lower lip to stop it from wobbling. His eyes glistened with tears as he sniffled and wrapped himself tighter around Taehyung.

Taehyung shifted underneath him, and Jimin heard his breath hitch for a second before he exhaled deeply and slumped back against the mattress. Taehyung's large palm cupped the back of Jimin's head and fingers played with his baby hairs, "Jimin?" Taehyung breathed out groggily- gifting Jimin with his deep, silky voice.

At the sound of Taehyung's comforting voice and gentle caresses, Jimin finally broke down. A harsh sob cut through the air, followed by loud cries of pain. Taehyung's eyes flew open and he immediately sat up in alarm. Jimin slumped against his chest and trembled as he cried in Taehyung's shoulder- grasping at his shirt and muffling his sobs by biting into his shoulder.

Taehyung sat frozen with his arms wrapped around Jimin's small body and his eyes wide in panic. For a brief second, Taehyung didn't know what to do or how to comfort him, but when another choked sob sliced through the air, Taehyung's instincts flicked on.

He wrapped his arms around Jimin's body and pulled him deeper into himself. His palms pressed against his back and ran over the surface of his spine. Taehyung cooed and caressed the back of his head, encouraging him to release all his emotions and cry all he wants.

After a few moments of crying into Taehyung's shoulder and leaving behind a stain on his shirt, Jimin pushed himself away to create a bit of distance between them. He wiped away his tears and snot with his sleeve before sniffling and looking down at his lap with a wobbling lip and puffy eyes.

Taehyung curled his finger around Jimin's chin and pulled his head up. Honeycomb eyes clashed with the soft chocolate ones of Taehyung before Jimin's eyes flickered down to Taehyung's lips as he parted them to speak, "What's wrong, Jiminie?" Taehyung whispered, waiting for his answer with concern grasping at his heart.

Jimin's lips stayed pressed together and eyes narrowed at Taehyung's lips. He lifted his hands and grabbed Taehyung by his shirt before pulling him forward and pressing their lips together. Taehyung yelped at the sudden action, while Jimin allowed his eyes to flutter shut and lips to move against Taehyung's parted ones. Jimin grabbed Taehyung by the back of his neck and slipped his tongue into his mouth before pulling himself above Taehyung's dick and grinding down on him.

A low groan rumbled against his lips, followed by someone clearing their throat from the other side of the room. Jimin ignored the noise and nipped at Taehyung's lips, only for Taehyung to rip himself away from Jimin and push him off. Jimin fell back and bounced off of the bed with a yelp. He slammed into the ground and winced at the ripple of pain in his hip.

"Taehyung!" Jimin exclaimed, sitting up and looking up at Taehyung with disbelief. But Taehyung didn't even look in Jimin's direction, his eyes were brimming with tears as he looked at the source of the cough.

Jimin grumbled and rolled his eyes lazily before turning around and peering up at the lanky male standing by the door. His chin was lifted and eyes were narrowed as he glared down at Taehyung from over the tip of his nose. The two of them seemed to be having a silent conversation between them, which resulted in the caramel haired male huffing and leaving the cell, and Taehyung crying out in alarm and scrambling after him.

Jimin's brows knitted as he watched this happen, and just as Taehyung was done pulling his pants up his legs, and rushed towards the door, Jimin scrambled up to his feet. He quickly grabbed Taehyung by his wrist and pulled him back, making the puppy eyed boy stumble back into him with a gasp.

"Taehyung!" Jimin called out, holding onto his hand tightly and staring back at him with pleading eyes. Taehyung stared at the place where the male had stood before hesitantly turning around and meeting Jimin's eyes, "Please, Tae, I need you." Jimin whispered through glossy eyes and a wobbling lip. He readjusted his grip on Taehyung's arm, not wanting to let go without a fight.

Taehyung hesitated- his eyes flickering from Jimin and over to the place where Hoseok had disappeared to, "Jimin..." Taehyung trailed off cautiously, nipping at his lip as he stepped towards Jimin and quickly placed a gentle kiss against Jimin's temple, "I'll be back. I just have to-"

"No!" Jimin cried out, lunging at Taehyung and pulling him towards himself. Taehyung gasped and stumbled back, staring down at Jimin with wide eyes. His heart was tearing in half- one half calling out for Hoseok and pleading to go after him, while the other stayed rooted in his spot with Jimin.

"Jimin, please..." Taehyung choked, pleading desperately while gently tugging at Jimin's clothes to try and peel him off. With each passing second, his heart hurt thinking that Hoseok walked further and further away from him, "I need to go to Hoseok, I'll come back, I promise."

But Jimin didn't budge, only tightened his grip around Taehyung and shook his head stubbornly. He clung onto his soulmate, desperately seeking out the comfort he desired, all while wondering why Taehyung was trying to push him off to try and run after some stranger.

With a small sniffle, Jimin finally pulled himself back and wiped away his tears with his sleeve, "Why? You don't even know him, Tae! You're my soulmate, my family and I currently need you more than ever! Why do you want to run after someone that you haven't even known for two weeks, and leave behind someone that you've known half of your life!" Jimin sobbed through the words, stomping his foot against the ground and curling his arms around himself as he stared back at Taehyung.

Taehyung lowered his head and bit his lip, "He gave me a choice." He breathed out quietly, "You didn't even do that."

Jimin flinched back at the words and stared at Taehyung with his lips parted in disbelief, "You...he....what?" He uttered numbly, not even comprehending the words that he said.

Taehyung gulped and lifted his head in order to look down at Jimin, "Hobi gave me the option to choose what I want to do with my life. He gave me the option to run away with him after we leave the prison, and I'm gonna do it." Taehyung spoke confidently with a growing smile. He walked up to Jimin and took a hold of his limp hand- completely missing the way Jimin flinched at his touch and continued to stare down at his chest blankly, "I don't want to be a part of The Kitty gang or this...lifestyle. I want to be free and I want to do something else, I want to go to university, travel the world, build a family." Taehyung sighed dreamily, all while caressing Jimin's hand and kissing his fingers one by one.

Seconds ticked by and turned into minutes, yet the only thing Taehyung received from Jimin was silence and an empty stare, "Jimin?" Taehyung asked, tilting his head to the side and lowering his hand.

Ever so slowly, Jimin's eyes dragged up from Taehyung's chest until they met his eyes. Taehyung almost flinched away by the coldness and lack of emotion in Jimin's once warm eyes, "So you're betraying me too?" Jimin whispered, ripping his hand out of Taehyung's and taking a step away from him.

A pinch of hurt flashed over Taehyung's eyes before he inhaled a deep breath and smiled nervously, "What do you mean? Jimin, I'm just scared and tired, I don't want to be scared anymore. I want to feel safe!" Taehyung huffed, looking dejected as he shook his head and walked back, "Why can't you understand that?" Taehyung whispered under his breath.

"Maybe because I'm scared too!" Jimin yelled back. His chest rose and fell as he panted harshly and stared back at Taehyung like he had just ripped his heart out and squeezed it until the last droplet of blood tainted the floor, "I'm scared too, that's why I need you with me. You make me less scared! And I...I don't know if I can do this without you, I just...Please, Tae, don't....don't leave me alone." Jimin begged, lowering himself down on his knees in front of Taehyung and wrapping his arms around himself.

"Stand up." Taehyung lurched forward and tried to get Jimin to stand up by pulling on his hands. But the lavender haired boy pushed him away and peered up at him through wet lashes.

"Don't leave me." Jimin breathed out, followed by a small sob bubbling in his throat.

Taehyung froze and stared back at Jimin with hurt. His own breathing deepened and eyes began to burn before he shook his head and stuttered, "If you...if you loved me as much as I loved you, you wouldn't ask me to stay. You'd...you'd let me go." Taehyung's voice cracked and split in between sentences.

Jimin's face scrunched up into a grimace and he leaned forward on his knees, "Tae.." he trailed off hesitantly- noticing how Taehyung was taking steps away from him, and staring at him with wide eyes and pale cheeks.

"Hoseok was right."

And with that, Taehyung twisted around and dashed out of the cell, leaving behind a heartbroken Jimin to lay in the middle of the cell with sobs bouncing past his lips and heart wrenching calls of Taehyung's name haunting the walls around him.

Yet despite how his heart ached and squeezed painfully with each step he took away from Jimin, Taehyung didn't look back as he rushed after Hoseok. He rounded the corner and dashed into the corridor next to his, only him to crash into the person leaning against the wall- patiently waiting for him this entire time.

Taehyung stumbled and fell against the man's chest, he inhaled a lungful of his earthy scent and peered at up the familiar face of Hoseok staring back down at him with a raised brow.

Taehyung swallowed nervously and straightened out. He readjusted his clothing tensely, while biting at his lip and staring down at Hoseok's chest- purposely avoiding his eyes.

A small sigh licked at Taehyung's earlobe, followed by Hoseok's voice slicing through the air, "Taehyung, before we get out of this prison, we need to clarify a few things." Hoseok murmured lowly, reaching out a single finger and lifting Taehyung's chin up with the tip of his finger, "I'm a grown man, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I like you romantically and I want us to be together. But I don't know what you want, so I need you to tell me if you like me too or if you want to stay just friends."

Taehyung's eyes had grown large and breath had been knocked out of his lungs. He stared up at Hoseok unblinkingly before smacking his lips shut and wetting them with the tip of his tongue. All the pain from leaving Jimin like that vanished in the snap of Hoseok's long fingers. His soft tone wrapped around his uttered words and tickled the crevices of Taehyung's brain- leaving behind trails of sparks. His heart nearly broke through his rib cage from how hard it was pounding and body nearly bounced around the hallway in joy. Taehyung was ecstatic and felt raw happiness at the sudden, unexpected confession coming from Hoseok.

Instead of squealing and jumping on Hoseok to display how joyous he was, Taehyung cooled himself before raising his hands and creating a row of gestures with his fingers,

"I like you too."

Hoseok sucked in his cheeks to prevent himself from grinning from ear to ear, but he wasn't able to prevent two small dimples from popping out above his lips, "Good." Hoseok released a breathy chuckle and gently slid his hand into Taehyung's, "Is this okay?" He asked cautiously, smiling when he received a scarlet red smile from Taehyung.

Hoseok tugged on Taehyung's hand and led him away from the others. The two of them strolled through the prison with the inmates avoiding them as if even breathing in their direction would cause them to catch a deadly disease. Taehyung looked quite relieved with the lack of attention and sudden serenity that draped over his shoulders. Hoseok's hand created a comforting burn against his own palm, and made a warm feeling travel through his body until it set his chest aflame with an unknown emotion.

Taehyung's eyes remained glued on their connected hands as Hoseok walked forward with confident strides and an occasional tug on Taehyung's hand to make him speed up, "Since I now know that we're both on the same page, I think you need to know something." Hoseok stopped in front of the metal door that led to outside. The guard standing by the door eyed them both before nodding and opening the door for them.

Taehyung watched in confusion as Hoseok nodded at the guard before gesturing for Taehyung to enter the courtyard. The puppy eyed boy stepped forward, allowing the sun to fall on him and illuminate the slope of his nose and curve of his lips. Taehyung's eyes fluttered shut- hiding the chocolate brown colour of his eyes- and his nostrils flared as he spread his arms and filled his lungs with the fresh air.

Taehyung nearly jumped as Hoseok's palm cupped his lower back and gently nudged him forward. His lips tugged down into a pout and eyes momentarily fell on Hoseok's hand, only for the man to look down just in time to catch the gaze and expression. Hoseok's face scrunched up and he immediately dropped his hand- thinking that he made Taehyung uncomfortable with the gesture.

"Sorry." Hoseok muttered, pushing his hands into his pockets instead.

Taehyung pouted and slumped into himself, yet didn't say anything as Hoseok led him to a separate table in the courtyard. The two took seats next to each other at the empty table. The view in front of them led to them gazing out at the green forest hidden behind the fenced wall.

Taehyung gazed at the forest longingly- wondering how the leaves would feel against his fingers, and how would it feel to just run between the trees and listen to the tales of the birds. A deep sigh rumbled through his throat before he turned away from the sight and looked up to meet Hoseok's eyes.

Taehyung displayed his confusion on why he was led here by tilting his head to the side and knitting his brows together. Hoseok smiled, never looking away from him as he parted his lips to release his words, "First of all, I want to take things slow between us. I like you, but I want to take my time to date you properly and get to know you. But I don't want to do it here so I hope it's okay with you, if we wait until we get out of here."

Taehyung could only exhale softly and gaze back at Hoseok with a dreamy smile. The look on his face earned him a bright smile from Hoseok and a pinch to his cheeks. A red dust trailed up his neck and touched his cheeks, Taehyung gave Hoseok a small nod and shifted closer to him, making their shoulders brush together.

Hoseok smiled, yet didn't say anything about it. His fingers twitched- wanting to leap forward and curl against Taehyung's own, yet Hoseok suppressed the urge since he thought he'd pressure Taehyung and make him feel uncomfortable. Hoseok dropped his hands on top of the metal table in front of him and took a hold of a stray thread of grass laying on the table.

His eyes ran along the thread of grass and fingers played with it as he spoke up, "I need to tell you another thing." Hoseok mumbled- his calm and serene tone being replaced by a grim and serious one. Taehyung bit his lip and sat up straighter, staring at the side of Hoseok's face with expectant eyes, "The reason I'm here is because I used to be in a relationship with Yoongi." Hoseok cringed at the small gasp coming from Taehyung, and allowed the small thread of grass to fall out of his finger. He leaned back in his seat and shifted his body towards Taehyung so that they could make eye-contact.

"Yoongi and I met each other quite accidentally. I was the secretary to a potential business partner of his, so we were forced to spend a lot of time together. I knew who he was and what he did for a living, and it didn't bother me since it never affected me directly." Hoseok's face scrunched up into a grimace and his hand lifted to run through his caramel locks. He looked like he was a bit disgusted and annoyed as he remembered the past events, "Yoongi took me out on a date and one thing led to another, and we ended up dating. Of course being together with a gang leader had its flaws, but I was always able to look past it and ignore it because I was in love with him."

Taehyung listened to Hoseok carefully, he didn't understand why the male was telling him this but he guessed it had to be for a reason. Despite his own curiosity on the subject and entire situation- since Jimin was sleeping with Yoongi, who was hoseok's ex and now Taehyung liked Hoseok- Taehyung felt a bit awkward around the topic of Hoseok's ex lover.

"I kind of learned to separate myself from that part of Yoongi that killed and ran a gang, which led to a lot of fights between us. Yoongi didn't want to hide or hold himself back around me, he believed that he was living a lie and wasn't able to be open with me about who he was."

Hoseok stared back at Taehyung and offered him a bitter smile. He placed his elbow on the back of his chair and leaned his jaw against his knuckles, "I don't think I really listened to a word that he said when we were arguing because nothing changed after our fights. I still kept pulling myself away from him whenever he came home covered in blood or kept a gun on his bedside table. I think the situation got so bad that at one point I even began to imagine that instead of going out to kill someone, he went out to a normal job. Like a chef or a doctor." Hoseok chuckled and shook his head at his own delusion. His nose scrunched up and gaze drifted away from Taehyung before darkening at the fences around them, "And then I proposed to him."

The breath that Taehyung was about to release hitched in his throat and got pushed back in his lungs. His face fell like the last flower petal on a wilting flower before he composed himself and awkwardly looked away. Hoseok glanced at him and ruffled the dejected boy's hair.

"Don't worry, his answer was no." Hoseok smiled, running his fingers along Taehyung's hair until his hand settled on the base of his neck. Their eyes clashed together and hesitant smiles met before Taehyung tried to act like he was sympathetic towards Hoseok's situation, when in reality he was ecstatic that Yoongi had said no, "Though Yoongi's way of saying no was by taking all the evidence, the police had about him committing all these horrible crimes, and then framing it all on me. Honestly, he's quite smart- get rid of a fling that got too serious and get rid of the police that was about to throw his ass in prison."

"I'm..."

A deep, soulful voice glided along the air and mingled with the gentle breeze. It played with Hoseok's locks and nipped at the shell of his ear before drifting into his ear and caressing his eardrums. The voice slithered along his mind and trailed all the way down to his chest, it created a warm room inside Hoseok's fast beating heart and made him inhale a stuttering breath.

"...sorry." Taehyung finished with scarlet red cheeks and downcast eyes. He pulled his sleeves over his palms and winced as he waited for Hoseok's reaction to his voice- thinking that he'd either judge his deep voice, or become so excited that he'd demand for Taehyung to speak again.

But Hoseok did none of that.

Instead of following his buzzing emotions or the thoughts of pouncing on Taehyung for a hug, Hoseok lifted his lips up into a warm smile and stood up from his seat. He raised a hand in Taehyung's direction and wiggled his fingers as an invitation to take a hold of his hand, "Let's take a walk and I'll tell you anything you want to know. I want to get to know you Taehyung and get rid of anything that others could use to separate us." Hoseok breathed out softly, patiently waiting for Taehyung's answer with his palm hovering in the air.

A single second ticked by after Hoseok finished speaking, before Taehyung was lifting his hand and placing it into Hoseok's warm one. He allowed the latter to pull him off the seat and lead him back to the prison with a growing smile on his face and a warm bubbly feeling inside his stomach.

But what Hoseok and Taehyung didn't notice, were the pair of eyes and a matching scowl directed towards them from afar.
