Chapter 2
----- Chase’s palace -----
Chase led Kari and Kaiser into his palace that was at the top of a scary and ominous looking mountain. Once inside they realize how beautiful and huge it was for one evil guy that lives with a bunch of jungle warrior cats. Kaiser looked around, having never seen anything like this place as she looked over to Kari to see that she was having pretty much the same reaction as she was. Chase turned to face his two guests.
“Welcome to my domain, I do hope you two make yourself comfortable here as my home is your home.” Kaiser lightly nodded her head in response as she was still taking in the look of the place. Kari looked at the ceiling, spinning slowly. A gasp escaped her lips and she bumped into Chase innocently as her back was turned to him while taking in the scenery.
“Ah!” She squeaked when she bumped into him. “S-sorry.” She stammered and jumped back a little, to gain a small distance between them. She blushed lightly in embarrassment. Chase chuckled a bit as he nodded his head.
“It’s perfectly fine, no harm done Kari. For the longest time it’s just been me and my cat warriors, so if you ever need something while you are here or get lost they will more than happily assist you ladies.” Kaiser nodded her head understanding.
“Thank you Chase,” Kaiser said with a slight bow to him showing him her gratitude.
“Th-thanks, m-mister Chase, sir…” Kari bowed respectfully with a small shiver, showing her roots were from japan by the way she bowed.
“It’s only natural to help those who need help, and I’d hate to see two young ladies like yourselves to be misled and have you using your powers for the wrong reason.” He said as he gave a sly yet sincere smile to the two. Kari stood up straight, along with Kaiser, and looked at Chase dead center in his eyes. She was about to read his true nature, unknowingly, when something yelped in agony.
“AH! AH!!” A redhead called. “Chase, your cat’s are-YEOW! Attacking me again!” He grumbled, a little soaked from falling in the pond, since he was washing some clothes for Chase, and himself. Kari stared at the scene in slight confusion as to who the man was, he looked older than her by a few years, maybe he was even slightly older than Kaiser, but Kari could not tell for certain. Then a woman in a dress with tan skin walked over near the shouting red headed boy.
“Jack, can’t you do ANYTHING right for once in your life?!” She placed her hands on her hips as she gave him a look of annoyance. Laughter slipped through Kaiser’s mouth as she saw what was going on before her and Kari, who was now behind her shivering timidly. For some reason it was really funny to her. Chase shook his head, rubbing his temples with his thumb and index finger.
“Jack, may I ask, what you are doing here of all times, it’s quite rude to just appear in someone’s home.” Chase said trying to keep his composure in front of his new guests as he felt Wuya’s eyes watch him ever so slightly. While looking at Chase, she noticed the two young ladies behind him and she gave a look of displeasure.
“So, Chase Young, who are these two ever so young ladies? Please tell me they’re just maids.” Kaiser snapped her head in Wuya’s general direction, Kari gulped and then raced behind a pillar, keeping a safe distance from the older girl. Her anger slowly boiling up.
“K-Kaiser… D-don’t do anything you'd regret…” Kari called then began to eye Wuya, Chase and Jack. Her symbols beginning to glow slightly. Kaiser headed straight to Wuya and soon enough stood in front of her standing up straight.
“Do we look like maids to you lady? Who are you anyway, it’s not like you’re Chase’s mother or something.” While Kaiser was speaking, her symbol began giving off it’s black misty glow around her neck. Wuya looked in surprised at the one before her that she was talking back to her of all people. When she saw the glowing on both the girls she let out a gasp then placed both her hands on each side of Kaiser’s face, squishing it a bit. Kari watched in confusion then cautiously approached Kaiser and Wuya, soon standing next to Kaiser.
“You must be the Mercilus dragon of illusions,” She then looked to Kari and did the same thing she did to Kaiser. “And you must be the young Copying dragon of the moon. You two are a lot cuter than the last two dragons.” Kaiser glared at Wuya while Kari blushed in embarrassment, Wuya still holding her cheeks. Then Kaiser swatted Wuya’s hands away from Kari’s face.
“You may know what we are, but you don’t know us and we most definitely don’t know you old hag.” Wuya was taken back by Kaiser’s words and actions, but soon enough she shook it off.
“How rude of me, I’m terribly sorry. I am Wuya a witch. JACK come here and introduce yourself to Chase’s guests.” Wuya gave Jack a “don’t mess up” look. Jack walked up and waved.
“U-uh, h-hi. I’m Jack, Jack Spicer. Evil boy Genius!” Jack smirked. Kari blinked.
“You have weird goggles… IS THAT A JET PACK?! DUDE!!!” Kari zoomed behind Jack, becoming a blur momentarily without meaning to. Jack blinked.
“Uh, yeah. Made it myself.”
“COOL!! Aw man, this is very well made. The metal is amazingly strong and durable, it's very convenient! Sooo cool!!!” Kari squeaked and Jack smirked, his ego building.
“Well, I do tinker in my lab a bit. Building robots to do my work, stuff like that.” Kari’s eyes widened like a kid in a candy store.
“No way!”
“Way.” Jack replied, crossing his arms and nodding. Kari jumped up and down excitedly.
“You HAVE to show me some of your robots some time!” Kari giggled and Jack nodded.
“Alright. I don’t mind.” He smirked.
“Oi, don’t be getting any ideas or I’ll have to put you in your place Spicer.” Kaiser said lightly cracking her knuckles eyeing him being protective of Kari. It looked like Wuya’s eyes glittered when she heard Kaiser’s threat to Jack, thinking “This one sure has a lot of bite.” Chase watched in slight amusement as the few events were unraveling in front of him. Kari looked over at Kaiser innocently.
“Kaiser, I’m fine. I’m not a little kid anymore… Thanks anyway.” Kari giggled as she trotted back to Kaiser, tripping on her scarf. “MYAH!!” She yelped as her face met the floor. When she sat up blood was trickling down her forehead. “... My bad.” She smiled and stood back up, wiping the blood off. Only to have it keep coming. Jack pressed a few buttons on his watch, summoning his medic-bot. He then pointed to Kari and it went and patched her up. Kari just stared at the red and white robot as it patched Kari’s small wound. Kaiser hit her face with the palm of her hand as she thought “I guess somethings never do really change huh? Heh.” She watched as the robot patched Kari right up.
That was when three jungle warrior cats came to Chase, roaring about something. As the cats roared to Chase, Kari began to read him, Wuya, and Chase. But she was unable to read Chase and Wuya, but Jack was as readable as a book. She saw evil intent and shivered internally and externally, she had not meant to do this. Chase looked at them and then knew they were to have more guest, very much unwanted guest here. He then sent the three off to let them come for he was not giving them up that easily.
----- Xiaolin monks -----
Dojo landed outside the entrance of Chase’s palace as each of them slid off of him and on the ground again. “So what’s the plan for this mission?” Clay asked, looking at his peers. Raimundo stood in front of the group as Dojo grew smaller.
“Well we go in, get the two with the symbols, kick some butt if we must and then hightail it back on to the temple on Dojo.” Raimundo said puffing out his chest proud of his idea. Kimiko rolled her eyes.
“Rai, really. I think we only need one. Two would be greedy.” She pointed out.
“Kimiko is correct. We want to keep balance, not shift it. For balance to stay even there must be one legendary dragon on each side.” Omi informed. Kimiko then smiled.
“Also, that’s not a very good plan… What if we get captured?” Kimiko asked, tilting her head and shrugging. Omi blinked.
“Actually, Kimiko, his plan is pretty good. If we DO get captured then the one with the good nature will help us. It makes things easier on our end.” Omi pointed out and Kimiko frowned in disappointment. Clay nodded his head in agreement with Omi. Raimundo smiled, still proud of himself and they all went to go rush in with their minds set.
That is when a group of jungle cats surrounded them growling and baring their fangs at them. Instead of fighting the large cats, they surrendered and let the cats take them inside to where Chase and the others are. The sound of the large doors opening caught the attention of Kaiser, Kari, Wuya, and Chase as they looked to see who was entering, but Chase was smirking as he knew it was the monks who have showed up at his front door. As the xiaolin monks were entering they saw Chase Young along with Wuya the witch and Jack Spicer along with two young girls that they did not know.
“You think those two girls are the dragons?” Clay whispered, asking Dojo who was staying under Clay’s ten gallon hat. Dojo poked his head out a bit to see and shrugged his shoulders.
“They must be if they’re here, you’ll know if their marks glow.” Dojo informed and Raimundo looked at the two girls, the cute shorter one with the pure white hair and the other one who looked kinda scary with a snapback on and no hair?
Kari looked over at the four monks and widened her eyes. She then looked at Kaiser and tugged at her pants and pointed at them.
“Look…” She whispered. “They look pretty cool…” She smiled. But something about this whole setup did not feel right with her. She looked back at the four monks, her eyes showing a little sympathy. Soo, her symbols began to glow dimly while Kaiser’s did the same with the ominous mist. Kari then looked down then back to the people in front of her.
“This doesn’t sit well with me… I’ll help them later… Can’t do it now… Just give it a moment, when there’s an opening…” Kari thought.
“Why are the Xiaolin losers here?” Jack huffed as he crossed his arms. “They knew they’d get caught. How stupid can you be?” Jack smirked. That’s when Kari got an idea.
“H-hey. Jack.” Kari smiled innocently.
“Yeah?”
“Can I see your robots now?? PLEASE?!” Kari pleaded with big eyes.
“U-uh, uh…”
“PLEASE?! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE?!!! PLEEEEEASE?!!!” She begged with big eyes. Jack gulped then sighed.
“F-fine, fine. Here. Go nuts.” Jack summoned a few of his jack-bots and Kari squealed in joy.
“BEST DAY EVER!!!” She called and then raced ever to the many robots. “Wow, very well crafted. Durable, light, strong…” Kari kept complimenting Jack’s handiwork, but what he did not know was that she was tinkering with the wiring when she was unseen. While with Chase and the others all Kaiser looked at was the four Xiaolin monks surrounded by the cats as a black jungle cat walked over and nudged her roaring lightly. Kaiser looked down and petted it’s head, she always had a soft spot for animals so she couldn’t resist not petting the big cat.
“We won’t let you get away with this Chase Young! There is no way we’re letting you take over the world with whatever you’re planning.” Clay said moving his hat up a bit. Chase just looked at them and smiled.
“I’m only trying to help two young ladies get more in touch with their abilities better so they’re not being taken advantage of.” Chase said as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“That’s a big fat lie! You’re going to use their abilities for taking over the world!” Raimundo shouted before looking at the girl with the snapback. “Oh by the way I was wondering do you have any hair under that hat?” Wuya looked at Raimundo then looked at Kaiser as she swore she saw a small fuse go off in her eyes. Kaiser glared at the boy and her symbol glowed more intensely. She then pulled off the snapback as her jet black hair fell and stopped to her mid back and then put her hat back on.
“Does this answer your question? You know if I wasn’t in such a lazy mood I’d go over there and hurt you.” She growled with a glint of mercilessness in her eyes. Dojo poked his head out and looked into Kaiser’s eyes went right back in thinking “ohhh no not today, no thank you.” Raimundo was stunned by the threat from the girl and oh hey look she does have hair. Kari watched as Kaiser went off and then she gulped.
“Hey, kid, you satisfied?” Jack asked with a smirk, crossing his arms in pride. Kari quickly stopped her work and nodded.
“Totally. And my name’s Kari, Kari Himura. But, just call me Kari.” She smiled and Jack nodded. “She’s Katherine Luna, but she likes to go by Kaiser.” Jack nodded.
“Kaiser? Why does she go by that? That is not the name of a female.” Omi chimed in. Kari gulped and put her finger over her lips quickly.
“SSSSSHHH! Shut up!” She whispered angrily. “Don’t mention that, ok. Just let it be, baldy.” Kari gulped, trying to appear neutral. Omi covered his mouth then frowned.
“Bald-y?” He whimpered and held the top of his head, frowning slightly, holding in tears as his bottom lip quivered. Kari blinked, now feeling bad.
“U-uh… D-don’t cry… P-please, I-I didn’t mean it…” Kari gulped and then blinked. “Almost time… Hope my plan works…” Kari thought then glanced over at Jack’s robots again. “Uh, Mister Jack… This one… Looks funny…” Jack blinked and walked over to her.
“What makes you say that?” He asked and the two began talking to each other.
Wuya looked at Kaiser, she wondered why she didn’t go by her normal name, but she let it be as she watched the monks carefully. “Why not rid of them now Chase?” Wuya asked him standing by his side. Kaiser looked at Wuya and rolled her eyes, “How pathetic.” Kaiser thought noticing how hard Wuya was trying to be close to Chase.
“Hey little lady these people aren’t good news.” Clay said as a small tick mark could almost be seen on Kaiser’s head.
“What did you just call me cowboy?” Kaiser asked a bit too calmly as her hand balled up in a fist and the big cat that was with her knew there was a disturbance in the force as everyone was confused as to what was going on. Chase watched as her anger was amusing him. Kaiser started to walk over to the group where Clay was.
“U-ugh...Little lady?” Clay said looking down at the shorter girl right as he got socked right in the face. Raimundo jumped back a bit and the other members gasped as to what is wrong with this chick.
“Don’t, ever, and I mean EVER call me little!” She shouted, making Kari wince as she talked with Jack. Kaiser began glaring then she placed her left hand on her hip as her right hand still in a fist. Wuya winced at the sight of the cowboy getting hit. Clay held his face, he was in a lot of pain from that punch. Kari then smirked when no one was looking.
“Now’s my chance. Hope this works.” She thought and her symbols began to glow brightly, blinding Jack in the process. Kari then tapped a few buttons on his watch and all of his robots began going haywire. In the midst of the chaos Kari raced to the Xiaolin monks and helped them escape. “Sorry I took so long. Had to get my timing perfect.” She apologized. “This way.” Kari pointed to an open path and led them out. Omi smiled at this and was the first out, then Kimiko, Clay and Dojo, then finally Raimundo. Kari tailed behind. She knew something was up, when she heard “world domination” she knew her gut feeling was correct.
Wuya looked at Jack and shouted at him “JACK you bumbling idiot, why didn’t you keep a closer eye on her!?!!” She was furious that the Copying dragon got away, even though they still had the Mercilus dragon. Chase glared at Jack and was ultimately disappointed in Jack, for once he thought Jack wouldn’t mess something up. Kaiser just watched as Kari ran away with the complete strangers.
Dojo grew really large. “Alright everyone get on now so we can get out of here!” First Clay helped Omi and Kimiko get on before getting on himself. Then Raimundo looked to Kari and asked.
“Need a lift up?” Kari looked at him and blinked. She huffed.
“N-no…” Kari then tried to get up, but she was too small. “Urk…” Kari gulped and crossed her arms, pouting. “M-maybe…” She then saw some jungle warrior cats heading towards them. Kari froze stiff and stared as they got closer. Raimundo automatically grabbed Kari after seeing the cats running for them putting her on Dojo and getting on behind her as he shouted.
“GO!” And with that Dojo took off into the skies, heading for the xiaolin temple. “Hey Clay how’s your face doing?” Raimundo asked, looking at Clay slightly concerned. Kari looked at Clay and blinked, waiting for his reply.
“I gotta say, she packs a mean punch that one. It’s just a little pain now. Hey, Kari, is your friend always like that?” Kari shrugged.
“When we were little she was a LITTLE mellower… I think she got worse over the years.” Kari then crawled over to Clay and put her right hand over Clay’s cheek and her symbols began to glow, he soon was healed. Raimundo and Clay’s eyes widen as to Clay’s relief, the pain was gone.
“Thank you Kari, that feels a lot better.” Clay said tipping his hat to her with a big smile as thanks.
“That was incredible Kari how did you do that?!” Raimundo asked being really fascinated by her ability. Kari shrugged.
"I… I dunno, Mister... It just happened..." She blinked at him and gave a neutral look.
“Oh well, it still looked really cool Kari.” Raimundo said with his usual smile. Kari put distance between herself and Raimundo and hid behind Clay, since he looked like a nice wall to hide behind.
“Uh, th-thanks…” She muttered shyly. “Why the hell did I do this?!” Kari whispered to herself, almost angry. Omi blinked and looked at Kari.
“Kari,” Omi began. “I believe that you are chosen to be on the side of good.” The young monk smiled, putting his hands between his sleeves. “Not only that, but you are a girl, which we need more of since Kimiko does not act like a female should.” Omi stated innocently while Kimiko growled and glared at him.
“Be glad you’re cute Omi.” Kimiko gritted her teeth. Kari giggled.
“Well, then I guess you’re gonna be disappointed.” Kari shrugged and Omi frowned.
“You… Do not act like a female either?” Kari crossed her arms and shook her head. “Why?”
“She has her reasons, Omi.” Kimiko sighed then crawled next to Kari. “It’s nice to meet you, Kari. I think you over heard my name when me and the little guy were talking.” Kari nodded and Kimiko smiled. “Cool. That’s Omi, Clay and Raimundo. I think you’ll like it with us.” Kimiko giggled happily and Kari looked down then she crawled to the end of Dojo’s tail and sat in the butterfly yoga pose, her hands on Dojo’s skin instead of her ankles.
“... Kay…” Is all Kari said in reply. She stared at the mountain that was known as Chase’s palace, wondering how her friend reacted. Kari just went off of instinct and had a feeling that Chase’s palace was not her scene. She sighed and then frowned. “... Guess we’re on opposing sides, Kaiser…” Kari thought sadly as her eyes narrowed to fit her mood. Omi looked at her and tilted his head, then looked at his friends.
“Why is she so low? She should not be low, she should be happy.” Omi asked, butchering his slang. Raimundo face palmed himself as he shook his head.
“No Omi you mean why is she so down.” Clay laughed a bit at Omi’s wrong use of words while watching Kari to make sure she was alright.
“Well she did save us and ran off, leaving her friend behind. Even though it is for to keep balance between both sides.” Raimundo moved a bit back near the tail to keep an eye that Kari doesn’t fall off Dojo. “You alright Kari?” Kari jolted and almost lost her balance, but she caught herself.
“Y-yeah… I’m fine…” Kari stated while looking back at Raimundo. She then looked back at the palace. “Just… worry ‘bout yourself, not me. Got it?” She sighed and put her head in her hands, letting the wind mess with her hair and silver ninja scarf. Raimundo gave her a funny look.
“Well, we’re friends now so we dragon warriors gotta stick together.” Raimundo flashed Kari a big bright smile. Kari huffed and turned away from the palace. She then saw her home and smiled at it.
“This is my stop!” She called then jumped off of Dojo’s tail with a smile and began to fall down to the earth. She pulled down her silver rimmed goggles and then began holding onto the brim of her cap. Dojo, Raimundo, and Clay’s eyes widened as they freaked out that Kari just jumped off of Dojo’s tail. Raimundo got up and jumped off as well using wind to help him fly in the sky towards her. Kari spun happily and saw Raimundo flying. She frowned and at this, she did not want his help, nor did she need it.
“Quit it!!!” She hissed. “I WANNA GO HOME AND HAVE A NORMAL LIFE!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!” Kari growled, glaring at Raimundo with an angry spark in her eyes and a pissed off frown as she bore her teeth. She then faced her home as her eyes got thicker and her hair messier. “SCARF WINGS!!!!” She called with her eyes closed and her scarf ends began to glow and change form into wings. She then became a blur as she sped down to her home. Kari did not ever know what she was doing since she was acting on impulse. She then landed safely in front of an old shack, her scarf ends going back to normal. She then went in the old shack she called home and locked everything and making sure no one could get in. “How the hell did I just do that?!” Kari’s thought screamed as she sat on her old spring mattress, some of the springs sticking out of it, which she fixed.
“... I kinda feel bad for her…” Kimiko frowned as Omi blinked, curious.
“But she is very strong. You should not feel bad for her.” Omi smiled slightly and Kimiko grumbled.
“True, she does have the abilities of the legendary copying dragon… But, think about it. She can’t even control them very well. She must feel very upset about this, she may even think it’s a curse. She might have been made fun of or something because of this.” Kimiko frowned and watched Raimundo fly down. “Come on Dojo. We need to do down there.” Kimiko pointed to Kari’s home. Dojo nodded his head as he went down for Kari’s house so they could all talk to her. Raimundo was already on the ground and in front of her house as he knocked on the door.
“Hey Kari, we all know what it’s like to just do what you want, but you were chosen for whatever reason it was and you could be in a lot of danger if you don’t come with us!” Kari frowned and peeked through the small hole in her door.
"I... Nngh... I can handle myself! Leave me-" Suddenly a bunch of boys arrived.
"Aye, move." One huffed then shoved Raimundo out of the way. He then kicked down the door. "KARI!!! YOURE LATE FOR THE GAME!!!"
"AH!!! I’M SO SORRY!!!" Kari squeaked then grabbed a soccer bag and rushed out of her house. One of them knocked her head.
"We've told you to remember our games kid. Now come on, it's gonna start." Kari nodded.
"Right behind you." She stated and then followed the team of boys and girls, only four of them came to the door. Raimundo watched as he followed Kari now motioning for Dojo and the crew to follow him after Kari to go watch the game. Dojo was tiny and around Omi’s big head as everyone ran to keep up with her.
Soon they were at a soccer field. Kari and her team were in blue and white juries with silver numbers, Kari's number was thirteen and she was goalie.
"Come on Kari!!" Called one of the team members who was sitting on the bench.
"Come on Silver sky!!" Called another. Kari nodded to one of the older boys on the field as he looked at her over his shoulder. She got ready as the other team, which was maroon and black with venom purple numbers, came out. The game began and everyone was going all out!! The ball was then heading for Kari's face as one of the strongest members kicked it for a goal. Kari smirked and caught it with only centimeters between her face and the ball.
"Wh-?!" The teen gasped.
"Yeah!! Kari Himura!! Unlucky 13! Lucky for us, unlucky for them!!" Cheered one of the many girls on the soccer team. She was sitting on the bench as she punched the air with a happy laugh. Kari then threw the ball to one of the people on her team and smiled at them.
Soon it was time for a break. "Kari, we switch roles when the game restarts. Vince, you are a protector along with Lance." A whistle sounded and everyone was back out, Kari last since she took another drink of water.
"Ready? Go!" Called the referee and Kari nabbed the ball and ran towards the opposing team's goal. Raimundo and the others got to the field a bit after she did and they decided to sit and watch Kari play soccer. Raimundo took great interest when watching Kari be the goalie. They all got scared when they thought she was going to get hit in the face with the ball, but thankfully she didn’t thanks to her cool skills. Raimundo let out a loud whistle as the others cheered for Kari when they had finished their break and everyone was changing positions on the field.
“You know Rai, she might be better at soccer than you are.” Clay said once again fixing his hat as Raimundo looked at his direction giving him a funny look as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Maybe she is, maybe she isn’t. I’ll have to play her one on one sometime when we don’t have a hundred and one problems to worry about.” Kari smirked as one of the opposing team members charged at her, quickly going into a slide to knock Kari off-balance. But Kari kicked the ball into the air and jumped up over the girls slide then head-butted the ball to another one of her team members, who caught it with his chest and he began to race towards the goal while Kari caught up.
Eventually Kari's team hugged and they all whooped and hollered. Kari then got on the bench and then started up their chant.
"Who are we?!"--
"Silver Sky!"
"What do we do?!"
"We reach for the sky!"
"And why do we do it!"
"To break the limit! SIL-VER SKY! SIL-VER SKY!!!" Kari giggled and chanted with everyone else then she high-fived the team captain, who was also a playing member. But, everything quickly went downhill as gunshots were heard. Everyone yelped and looked at where the noise was coming from.
"Arkxi (Ark-z)..." The team captain growled as he got in front of Kari. "The hell do you want?!" Kari stared at the teen with maroon hair and silver eyes as he approached them. He wasn't a part of any of the soccer teams. One of the older girls on the team grabbed Kari and pulled her away.
"Why the hell is that little FREAK here?!" Arkxi growled and pointed at Kari, who was trying to get free if the girls grasp. "I've seen what she can do! I know what can happen! THAT LITTLE MONSTER COULD KILL US ALL IF SHE WAS PISSED OFF ENOUGH!" Arkxi aimed his gun at Kari and the girl holding her. Kari froze.
"Kari, hey. It's ok." The girl soothed and Kari's symbols began to glow.
"He's scary... I don't like this... Tina, what's gonna happen?" Kari looked up at the girl who was holding her.
The monks started to freak out when they heard the gunshot. They scrambled to get up to keep Kari and everyone else who was on the field safe. Raimundo was running for the Kari and the other girl as he shouted to Clay.
“Let’s teach this guy some manners!” They then stopped in front of Kari and her friend making sure to be able to stop a bullet so no one gets hurt. As Clay nodded to Raimundo’s words as he got closer with his rope. Dojo covered his eyes afraid of what was about to go down on the soccer field as he told Omi.
“Tell me when it’s all over buddy.”
"Well, uh, Dojo. You're on my head and I'm about to go into battle." Omi gave the dragon a smirk. Kimiko nodded.
"I'll be doing the same." She said then rushed out with Omi. Kari shivered and stared at the man. She gritted her teeth and Tina held her softly.
"Hey, Kari it's ok. I know what you can do and I don't think you're a monster. You are amazing." She smiled, keeping Kari calm.
"T! Get Kari out of here!" Vince called. "Captain's orders-- urk." Vince coughed as a bullet hit him in the back.
"Damn it... Missed." Grumbled another teen with black hair and emerald eyes. Kari gasped and began to shake.
"V-VINCE!!!!" Kari called as the boy approached her and Tina.
"Kari, stay calm."
"LEMME GO!!! LEMME GO!!!" Kari hissed and growled. Eventually she vanished and reappeared above the boy. "JERK!!!!" She yelled out in anger as she went to punch him in the head, but he dodged.
"Easy Leonel. She's quite the monster brat." Arkxi huffed and the teen nodded while Kari made contact with the ground, making a crater. Vince coughed and Kari went to him and she gave him a sad look.
"I'll help..." She gulped and began to glow and heal him. Vince gave a weak smile and he closed his eyes and began to nap since the pain sapped his energy. Kari frowned and looked at the two teens. Clay made a lasso with his rope and swung it around one, two, three times before getting Arkxi's hand that had the gun in it, then pulled the rope making the him drop the gun. Raimundo rolled up his sleeves on his hoodie as he got a clear shot of Arkxi and clapped hands together sending a wave of wind at. him.
“Didn’t your mother teach you any manners and that you shouldn’t hurt people!?” Raimundo shouted at him, mad that he was trying to kill people. Kari blinked and began to shake more. Omi went and kicked Leonel in the jaw then Kimiko punched him in the gut.
Kari then began to lose control. Tina saw this and put her hands on Kari's shoulders.
"Hey, hey. It's gonna be fine. Just stay calm and it will all blow over." Tina said with a small smile. Kari gulped and frowned.
"I-I'm trying, To... Honest, but it's hard." Kari hugged herself tight and shivered. "T... I'm gonna lose it, get out of here with everyone else." Kari growled and Tina nodded then told the team and they fled, someone carrying Vince. Kari let out a roar when it was just her, Dojo who was in the stands, the xiaolin monks, Arkxi and Leonel. "YOU'LL PAY!!!" She hissed then rushed at the two teens.
Raimundo and Clay jumped back so they weren’t in Kari’s way when she rushed at the two guys. Dojo kept himself hidden while peeking his head out to see how bad the situation was. Clay loosened his lasso so he had his rope back as they watched Arkxi and Leonel get beat up by Kari who just moments ago looked like a small innocent girl who wasn’t violent all the time. They stood back to not get in her way for it looked like pure rage had clouded her sense of thinking properly.
Kari roared and kicked the two away then rushed at them, only to be punched in the jaw. So hard she should have been sent flying. But she just stood there with Arkxi's fist in her jaw. "Please sir, may I have another?" Kari chuckled, her right eye pure black with a glowing red dot for a pupil but her left eye the same, steam raising from her body. Her hair was messy and her eyes looked thicker, in a way.
"Wha-What is going on?" Arkxi stammered, taking a few steps back. Kari smirked and took a few steps closer.
"Well, I heard you call me a monster brat, I'm just showing you my... "Monster brat" side." Kari began to snap as fire swirled around her, bolts of electricity surging through the flames. Leonel shook in feet then ran away screaming, Arkxi close behind. Even though they were gone Kari was still having trouble. She grabbed her head in pain and hunched her back and began to shriek in pain.
"Somethings not right. Omi, get the Orb of Tornami out of my bag and use it on her to cool her down!" Kimiko ordered and Omi nodded then rushed to the stands and looked at Dojo, who had Kimiko's bag. He grabbed the Orb of Tornami and raced back and stood about a foot away from Kari then aimed it at her.
"ORB OF TORNAMI!!!!!" Omi called and water rushed over Kari. The fire was put out and the electricity vanished because Kari was getting tired. She looked at everyone, her right eye still black with a glowing red pupil. Her eyes narrow slightly, showing how tired she was.
"What... Just..." Kari started but then fell face first the ground. Kimiko went to her and made sure she was ok, which she was.
"... We should get her things and then take her back to the temple..." Kimiko sighed.
"Temple?" A voice called. It was Kari's soccer team captain, behind him the rest of the team. "What are you going to do with her?" He asked a little protective of Kari.
“Look you wouldn’t understand if we were to tell you everything dude, but trust me Kari isn’t safe here. We’re here to protect her from really evil people who will hurt anyone that gets in the way of what they’re looking for.” Raimundo walking up to the soccer captain in the face. Clay nodding his head in agreement with his friend.
“He is right, and the safest place to be is at the xiaolin temple where she can train and master her abilities. We promise that nothing bad will happen to her mate.” Dojo rushed over quickly as fast as he could get to the group. The whole team exchanged glances. Tina is then approached them, her number was 23.
"Will we still be able to see her?" She asked, rubbing the back of her head. Tina then picked Kari up piggy back style then she headed off towards Kari's home without an answer.
"Tina..." Lance sighed and looked at the xiaolin monks and Dojo. "She has known Kari ever since Kari was five. She was Kari's babysitter, in a way. So this is hard for her." He sighed and looked down. Tina came back with a silver bag full of some stuff and holding onto a skateboard with silver wheels, a blue bottom with Kari's waning crescent moon symbol on the bottom.
Clay went up to Tina looking at the bag and other stuff. “Is this Kari’s things?” Raimundo looked to the soccer team and bowed to them. “We thank you for understanding even though you all don’t know us that well. But we will promise when things aren’t as crazy we’ll bring her by to visit to see you all.” Clay took the things that Tina gave them that belonged to Kari giving some stuff to carry to Kimiko and Omi, which leaves Raimundo to carry Kari and hold her when they get on Dojo for the ride home. Tina smiled.
"We've known about Kari's abilities and we believe you can help... Please... Just help her..." Tina sniffled, holding in tears rubbing Kari's head. "Also, everything she owns is in that silver knapsack." Tina smiled bitterly.
"The team will definitely not be the same without her." Lance chuckled, the team nodding in agreement. The captain then came up and ruffled her hair then whispered in her ear.
"You better behave yourself kid." He then whipped his eyes since he was gonna cry. "Alright everyone! Let's go." He called and everyone scrambled into a big group as Dojo grew, let everyone on him and then began to fly off. The team waved at them and ran in the direction they were going for a while; stopping the moment they could no longer see Dojo.
Clay and the others held Kari’s belongings while Raimundo held Kari in his arms making sure she wasn’t to fall off or anything bad was to happen to her while on the way back to the temple. Wouldn’t master Fung be happy that we were able to bring the Copying dragon of the moon back safely, but it’s kinda sad that Kari not only had to leave behind her friends in her hometown, she also is on the opposite side as her other friend. With all of them looking to the distance, the temple could be seen from a mile away and they would be able to rest and help Kari get comfortable at her new home with all of them.
