Chapter-3-"A Deal with the Devil!"

Xavier's POV

"Here." I give her the packet of frozen peas. She grabs it from my hand harshly and puts it on her now red knuckles. She flinches in pain and looks at me with those angry eyes. I try to stop the smile on my face. She looks too cute like a little puppy! Her face is red with anger and she bites her lip. Oh, she is a sight!

"I hate you!" She spits in anger. Her eyes fall on my lips where she bit me. The cut is healing quickly since I am a wolf.

"I can live with it." My reply doesn't sit well with her after what I did.

"You are a Devil!" Well, that's not new! I don't know whether is anger is because I kissed her out of the blue or because she got hurt as she hit me. She surely did like the kiss, but she wouldn't show it.

I can't help but kiss her. Her scent is driving my wolf on edge and her eyes are just calling me. The way she is looking at me as my thumb touches her lips... Fuck! I can't! I don't feel the tingles, but I know there is something.

My lips touch hers and the taste of her is causing me to lose my senses. She is surely in shock. I bite her lips and she gasps. I take the opportunity to push my tongue into her mouth. Oh God! She tastes so good! Her lips are so soft. She feels so delicate. What I didn't expect was for her to kiss me back.

She moves her tongue along with mine and my wolf wants to come out and howl. My mind is going into a frenzy as my hands go down to her waist and I pull her close. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I never felt like this before!

The moment of heaven ends when she suddenly bites down hard on my lip, causing it to bleed and I pull away.

"Fuck!" I curse and look at her. Her cheeks are red and her eyes are filled with anger. Before I know it, she is throwing a punch at me and it lands on my cheek. She can throw a mean punch a small size like her.

"Oh my God!" She gasps and holds her hand to her chest. Her little punch doesn't hurt me, but it does hurt her. She looks at me in anger and pain.

From the moment my eyes landed on her... everything in me is turning upside down. I don't know what is happening to me. My wolf doesn't recognise her as my mate, but he is yapping to come out around her. He is crawling on my skin to touch her. I want to know if she is my mate and I can't do that unless she turns into her wolf. That is going to take three months.

I need to know if she is my mate and for that I need to have her here for three months. Something in me tells me she is, but these predictions turn out wrong half of the time. I am not taking chance when it comes to finding my mate.

I agree, I was not a fan of finding my mate, but she is here, I am not letting her go.

"Fuck!" She screams and blows air on her knuckles before looking at me in a way that said this-is-because-of-you. I just analyse her.

She was not lying when she said she told everything about her. We can hear her heart beat and I know that it's true. How can a rogue be so innocent? Or should I say stupid? I don't think I should say the latter though. She is smart enough to not trust people and asked for an agreement... From an Alpha no less. That takes guts.

Three months. It's going to be fun having her around here!

My heart just flips as I look at her. What the fuck is wrong with me?! She is so beautiful though. So beautiful! She reminds me of someone. I can't put a finger on it though. I am so engrossed in enjoying her presence until she speaks.

"I want to have another thing, put on that agreement." She demands and I want to scoff. She thinks she can call the shots? Like that's going to happen. I don't respond, but wait to be amused. She looks up from her hand and scowls. Oh my God! Can she get any cuter? "Put a clause that says you are not allowed to touch me."

"No." Like that's going to happen. I nearly laugh at it. My response was immediate.

"Well, then you can kill me." She spits again and I smile. I know what will keep her here.

"Maybe we should call your mother and tell her the news then." I pick up the phone. "What's her number?" Her eyes widen and she bites her lip. My eyes follow her every action and move. She is just so fascinating.

"Maybe we don't have to keep that on the agreement." She whispers looking at her hand. "We can just have an oral note on that." My mind thinks of several different scenarios as she says that.

"Oh, I can have some oral agreements." I whisper to myself. I need to stop my imagination from running wild. The image of her on her knees and opening her lips for me makes my dick stand up. Control! She looks so cute looking at her hand as she blows on it. Her pink lips pout as she down and all my thoughts are how I would like to bite that. Fuck! This is going to be hard.

Alpha, the papers are ready. James informs me through the mind link.

Bring them to my office.

She moves in her chair and looks up at me. Her face for some reason turns red. Oh, I would love to know what's going on in her head. Is she thinking about the kiss?

"What are you thinking about?" I can't help but ask. She looks up again. "Is that your first kiss?" My curiosity spikes.

"I didn't say that!" Her response comes out so defensive and I raise my eye brows. A small egoistic smile traces my lips. "Who said that?! Not me! Pfft!" She doesn't know how to lie. Oh, the fact that I am her first kiss just boosts my ego. This is good!

"I will take that as a yes."

I hear footsteps and James know that James is coming up. He comes in and hands me the papers. I flip the pages and lift my head up to find her smiling at James who just gives her a very very small smile in return. I haven't seen him smile since a decade. I don't like this. Not one bit. Why is she giving him a smile? I just feel so jealous.

"What happened to the rabbit?" She asks James.

"We had it as a snack." He informs her giving her a small smile like he is guilty. He hadn't been sheepish like that since I can remember. What the hell is the dynamic between them?!

"Are you both done?" My sarcasm cuts them and they look at me. James just stands there and she gives me a scowl. She curiously eyes the papers that I am holding. I want to smile, but stop myself. It's only two pages with few rules. I sign where I have to and give her the papers. "Sign it." She looks at me and then at the papers. Taking it, she reads it. Her eyes shift between me, James and the papers.

She sighs. I know she is trying to contemplate whether she can get out of this situation. She bites her lip and... Fuck!

"Just sign it!" My voice comes more irritated than it should be. I am not irritated because she is reading them, but I am irritated because she is sitting there all cute and stuff. Her biting her lip and looking at us with those big blue eyes isn't helping either. She needs to stop doing that. She frowns at me.

"So, your name is Xavier, huh?" She asks rhetorically. Then her eyes squint on something as she reads. "I can go out if you kicked me out before these months?" She asks and I just give her a nod. I doubt I will kick her out. My wolf is going all crazy around her. I doubt I can even let her be ten feet away from me. What the fuck?! She picks up the pen before signing it.

She puts the paper down in the table once she is done and her eyes meet mine.

"I want a copy of that." She demands. That amuses both me and James, but we don't show it. Little Miss Boss she is.

"Say I give you a copy of it and let's say I broke all the rules and kill you before the three months are up." As soon as those words leave my lips she looks at me with wide eyes. "Who are you going to go and show this contract to?" She bites her lip. Oh, fuck, fuck fuck! Stop that! "It's not like there is a werewolf law court." I point out and she sighs. She thinks about it for a second and looks between me and James.

"You are right, there is not." She agrees. "But you seem like a guy who would stand up to his word." Oh, she is buttering me up! I smile internally. I do live up to my words though. "If ever you try to put me down." She doesn't even want to say kill? "I will show you this contract and I will show it to other Alphas so that they will know you are not someone who lives up to his word."

She is smart! She is going for my reputation! Not that I ever cared for it.

"Then they would not like to do any future business with you." She completes and I just stare at her. "I just want to be extra careful. After all it's a Deal with the Devil." She murmurs the last words. I can hear her through my wolf hearing. A smile tries to make it way to my lips, but I stop. I nod at James and he goes to get a copy of it. As soon as he leaves, she goes back to nursing her knuckles. I am sure she can feel my gaze on her but she doesn't lift her head.

I don't know why, but I stand up and walk up to her. Sitting down on the table in front of her, my gaze falls on her hand that she is soothing. I hear my heart beat increase. She looks at me throw the corner of her eyes, but doesn't meet my eyes. She slowly tries to move the chair to a side to put some distance between.

Oh no no! You don't!

My hands reach out and before can move, I but my hands on either side of her arm rests and stop her. She gasps. As I did that, I am leaning down and I can breathe in her scent. If it's possible, her heart beat increases a little more. It's like she is racing a marathon. But she still doesn't look up. She is frozen in her chair.

Fuck! Why does she smell so good?!

"You are not even going to look at me?" My voice is low and her eyes immediately meet mine. Her doe eyes stare into mine with such innocence and nervousness. I want to lift her up and have her legs straddle me as I kiss the life out of her. My gaze falls on her lips, but I control myself. I think she hurt herself enough.

Leaning away, I see her visibly relax and I take her injured hand. She winces, but let's me. I see how bad it is. Her knuckles are a little bruised and her hand is a little red. She is human after all. Hitting a wolf, an Alpha wolf at that, is like hitting a wall. That's going to take a few days to heal.

Before I know what I am doing, I take her hand and bring it to my lips. Her eyes are looking at me curiously. My lips graze her hand where she is hurt and she closes her eyes letting out a breath. A smirk forms on her lips.

That's it, Little Wolf! Feel that!

Darting my tongue out, I lick the wound. She licks her lips. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! I groan internally. I am glad I have that affect on her. I am about to kiss her more, but she suddenly opens her eyes and quickly snatches her hand, hugging it to her chest.

Before I can do anything, I hear footsteps. Lianne comes in smiling. She walks up to me sultrily inher shorts and tank top.

Juliana lifts her head and curiously looks at her. Lianne comes and puts her hand on my shoulder.

"Good morning, Alpha." She greets and bends down to kiss me, but I stop her. Juliana's brows knit and as I catch her eyes, she looks away. She suddenly seems at unease. She shifts in her chair and looks down at her knuckles but peeks at us. Once she notices that my eyes are still on her, she blushes and looks away again.

"Lianne, meet Juliana. A new member of our pack." I introduce her. Lianne turns her attention to the beautiful creature in front of us and takes a step towards her.

"Hi! I am Lianne." She introduces herself in her calm tone. She is always so cam and well put together. I never saw her lose her shit and she is not someone that can be easily provoked. Maybe that's why she is one of the best warriors of the pack. She stretches her hand out. Juliana seems surprised but manages to give her a smile. That's when something happens.

Fuck!

My wolf howls and I suck in a breath. What was that? Why did my heart just skip a beat?

"Hi! Nice to meet you. I am Juliana, but you can call me Julia." She offers. Her smile doesn't drop. Why the fuck is she giving her all the smiles?!

"Nice to meet you too. You can call me Lia. You are not wolf yet?" Lianne asks knowing the answer.

"Not yet. Can't wait to be one." I can't wait either! I wait for that day! I want to know if she is my wolf!

"I know how it feels to be nearly there. Shall I take her with me to the pack house?" Lianne asks turning to me. As soon as she asks that, Juliana visibly relaxes. She can't wait to get away from me, can she?

All the newly joined members who are single live in pack house. It is their choice if they want to buy a house within the territory and shift there. But most new members live in the pack house. Juliana is supposed to go to the pack house, but the thought of her even two feet away from me is driving me and my wolf crazy.

What is that all about?

"No. She will be staying here." She will be living with me in my house. The fact that her dove eyes will be away from my sight digs something in me. Juliana looks at me with wide eyes again. Even Lianne is shocked, but doesn't say anything.

"I can stay at the pack house." Juliana offers. "I can meet everyone and get to know." She tries to reason. That is a good reason.

"You are new and I want to keep you under observation." She falls silent at my words and pouts. Oh Little Human! You are killing me! Lianne looks at me. She knows what I just said is bullshit.

"Well, I would love to meet you and chat more. I am going for the morning session training." She tells Juliana and is about to exit when James comes in with the papers in his hand.

"Lianne wait! I need to speak to you." She nods. "James give her the copy and explain the rules." I order and he nods. He walks out and Juliana is about to leave but turns around to look at Lianne and me before walking out. I see something spark in her eyes.

Was that jealousy? Maybe I am imagining. That Little Human, mate or not is going to cause me some trouble, that I now! Fuck!

Lianne sits down in the opposite chairs. If I am going to have my possible mate in my house, I don't want to entertain anymore affairs. This should end. I should do it.

But three months with Juliana? Fuck, it's going to be one hell of a ride and I know that for sure!

Fun has just started. I wonder what Juliana will do just to tease him. Now that there is a loop in the contract, I am sure she will be using it.
