Charlotte runs to the accident scene and panics to see Xavier's car in such a wreck. Her heart was pounding and legs were ready to give up. She was startled when the door of Xavier's car flew open. Charlotte was horrified to see an extremely wounded Xavier walk out of the car. Charlotte fell on her knees and thank god he was ok. She watches as Xavier was struggling to walk while reaching the driver's side of the car. He tries his best to open the door with all his strength, he screams, and finally succeeds to open the driver's side of the door.

Charlotte walks to Xavier and helps him drag the unconscious driver out of the car. Few Outlookers help them and all manage to carry the driver to a safe distance. Xavier holds Charlotte's hand and walks them to a distance too. Before Charlotte could understand why was Xavier in a hurry to walk away from the car, just then a loud blast is heard and everyone watches as the car burns in flame.

Charlotte had wide eyes and watched as the car burned. She then look back at Xavier who too was watching his car burn in front of him. The same car he was in a few minutes ago.

Charlotte hugs Xavier confusing him and says "I love you" and cries holding him. She then feels him slipping from her grip but before he could fall, two men standing nearby held him. Charlotte watches him as he closes his eyes all while watching her, intensely.
The siren could be heard getting louder and louder. And before anything else could happen, Xavier and his driver were taken away by the paramedics.

The first to reach the hospital was Agnolo and with his calm nature, he tried to understand what had happened and how serious was Xavier hurt.
"God, I don't know, I just don't know" cries Charlotte trying to explain what happened.
"Hey it's ok," says Agnolo and hugs her. He lets her cry in his arms and tries his best to console her.

"Agnolo" calls a voice and both see Ermanno standing near them.
"What happened?" Asks Rose crying and shivering, scared for her son.
Agnolo lets go of Charlotte and hold Rose close to him and says "it's ok, mom. Xavi is ok"
"What happened?" Asks Ermanno and looks at the crying Charlotte.
"Few drunk teenagers crashed into the car while Xavi's driver was taking a turn at a curb. There was no way to see them approaching" says Agnolo.
"Any casualties?" Asks Elisio standing behind Ermanno with Sabrina.
"No. No one died but the driver is hurt really badly. Can't say much about him" says Agnolo.
"Oh god," says Sabrina and then spots Charlotte. She approaches her and holds her in her arms.
"You were with him?" Asks Ermanno to Charlotte.
"He was just leaving after dropping me off at my place," says Charlotte.
"You can leave now," says Elisio and continues "your assistance is no more needed"
"Please sir let me stay" begs Charlotte.
"I don't repeat myself," says Elisio and everyone knew, you don't disobey Elisio Devonte.

Charlotte walks away sobbing and Sabrina looks at Elisio with creased eyebrows.
"You!" Says Sabrina and walks behind Charlotte.
"You have always disliked her. Why?" Asks Ermanno.
"I don't like her around Xavi," says Elisio who has seen what everyone else failed to see.

"Please let me stay" begs Charlotte.
"Elisio wants you to rest after such a stressful night. Why don't you rest for now and come back in the morning after a good night's sleep" says Sabrina coving up for Elisio's rude behaviour.
"I don't think that's what he would want or care about me," says Charlotte.
"I care for you. You are such a good girl staying by Xavi's side the whole night. How can we ever repay you? God bless you and you better get some sleep. See you tomorrow, ok" says Sabrina, kisses her forehead, and tells a driver to drop Charlotte home.
Charlotte smiles at Sabrina and thanks her.

Sabrina comes back to her family in the waiting room and sees Elisio glaring at her.
"You went to send off an assistant?" Asks Elisio.
"She is a good girl," says Sabrina.
"I don't like her" says Elisio.
"You don't like anyone," says Sabrina and takes a seat next to Elisio. He places his hand on her knee and says "I like you. No. I love you mio fiore"
"You should. And you should at least try to be nice to others" says Sabrina.
"I can't unsee what I see and I can only see trouble when I see that girl," says Elisio.
"I don't understand this," says Sabrina and places her head on his shoulder.
Elisio was in deep thought thinking of how to get Charlotte away from Xavier. Cause he had seen how Charlotte watches Xavier.

Xavier had few broken ribs, a fractured leg, and a bruised face. Apart from that, he was ok.
"Do you remember what happened?" Asks the doctor to examine him after few days after the accident.
"Everything is a blur," says Xavier.

Charlotte with Ermanno, Agnolo, and Elisio were present in the hospital room. Charlotte remembers her confession to Xavier and didn't know if she should be happy or sad he didn't remember it.

"Why are you here?" Asks Elisio to Charlotte.
"Mr. Xavier called me here, sir," says Charlotte.
"I have an important meeting today. Can't miss it. Let's set up a zoom meeting, Charlotte" says Xavier.
"You don't look presentable for a meeting," says Agnolo.
"My presence is enough for the meeting," says Xavier trying to sit up.
"My name is enough for everything. I'll attend the meeting behalf of you. First fix yourself. Work can wait" says Elisio.
"I'll attend the meeting for you," says Agnolo.
"You chose not to be part of the business. Stay where you chose to be" says Xavier glaring with anger at Agnolo.

Xavier suggests Charlotte join the meeting with Elisio to which both were unhappy but work was work. Both were professional about it and agreed to work together on the meeting.

"Xavier is as angry about Agnolo choosing my tech company over the Devonte corps, as you were with me at one time," says Ermanno walking out of the hospital with Elisio, Agnolo, and Charlotte.
"He will grow out of it," says Elisio and looks at Charlotte while waiting for the car and says "he knows what's good and bad. And I have faith in him to choose good every time. And if he needs help choosing, I'll gladly help him. He always listens to me"
Charlotte gulps down feeling intimidated by Elisio's glare and tries to read between the lines.

Elisio attends the meeting with one of his brothers, Arlo Devonte, assisted by Charlotte.
"You did a great job, Charlotte is it?" Says Arlo.
"Yes sir," says Charlotte smiling at the less intimidating Devonte.
"Get me all the work Xavier was working on. I'll assign others to it" says Elisio.
"Yes, sir. Anything else?" Asks Charlotte.
Elisio stares at Charlotte for a few seconds and asks "how is your brother?"

Blood drained from Charlotte's face listening to Elisio mention her brother.
"H-he..." Starts Charlotte but Elisio cuts her off and asks "back home yet?"
Charlotte was flushed and didn't know what to say.

Elisio gets up from his place and stands in front of Charlotte and says "you have a lot of luggage. Carry it yourself"
Charlotte nods and says "I need this job sir"
"Who doesn't? We pay very well" says Elisio and Charlotte nods and says "yes, sir"
"Leave," says Elisio and she rushes out of the conference room.

"What was that about?" Asks Arlo.
"I like control and I control everyone even if they don't know it," says Elisio Devonte.

Charlotte covers her mouth and sobs in the bathroom. She cries over a dream she knew could never come true but dared to dream.
"Stop loving him" she cries squeezing her chest, trying to convince her heart to stop loving Xavier.

Xavier was in the hospital being pampered by Sabrina. He was being fed like a baby.
"I hate when I have to search for you," says Elisio entering Xavier's hospital room.
"I was here," says Sabrina.
"Yes, but you should be home. With me" says Elisio and pecks her lips.
"We can leave together," says Sabrina and looks at Xavier, and says "after the discharge. You will be staying with us"
"No," says Elisio and Xavier together.
"He will take all your time" complains Elisio.
"Grow up Elisio," says Sabrina and stands up to pack the leftover food.

"Mama you won't allow my children in your home," says Xavier.
"Rose will take care of them. But you will stay with us till I am satisfied you are ok. And I am not asking, I am saying" says Sabrina picking up the basket of food and leaving with the guard to wait in the car for Elisio.
Xavier looks at Elisio smile watching Sabrina leave.
"You only smile when you are with mama," says Xavier.
"She is the only reason to smile. And she looks so cute when she is bossy" says Elisio.
"You both are adorable" laughs Xavier and continues "so Charlotte told me how the meeting went. Good job, papa"
Elisio raises his eyebrow and Xavier laughs but stops when his ribs hurt.

"Did you scare Charlotte?" Asks Xavier.
"It's good to put fear in people. That way they know where to stop their advances" says Elisio.
"She is a good girl," says Xavier.
"We don't mix business and pleasure," says Elisio.
"I know," says Xavier.
"Do you?" Asks Elisio.

Xavier stays silent for a few seconds and asks "do you know how much I love you?"
Xavier pauses and Elisio doesn't say anything and lets him continue.
"I know you don't like Charlotte for me so, I just ignored her confession"
"What confession?" Asks Elisio.
"She confessed she loves me," says Xavier and sees Elisio fume in anger.
