"You ask her"

"No Chloe you do it!"

Me and Chloe bickered back and forth with each other, talking with our eyes while we cleaned the kitchen. We still have so many questions but we're not really sure how to ask without mommy getting upset.

"Fine I'll do it." Chloe puffed and we approached mom who was at the sink rinsing dishes.

"Hey babies would you like to help me out here?" She chuckled turning around.

Chloe and I quickly picked up one plate each and helped her out. At least a minute later Chloe finally spoke up. "Mommy if you don't mind us asking, we're just curious um...so who's our birth mom? Like can you tell us anything about her?"

Mom smiled drying her hands off. "Whatever you wanna know."

"What was her name?" She didn't even have to take a second to think. "Her name was Rebecca." She said letting the name slide off her lips.

Chloe wrapped her arms around mommy's waist looking up at her "Was she pretty?"

"Yes," Mom played around in Chloe's hair "She had to be to create you two gorgeous girls."

"Do you think we could meet her one day?" I say randomly surprising myself with my own words. I thought it in my mind but it ended in me saying it out loud.

"Nova," Mommy sighed "Though I'd be willing to let you guys meet her, I have no idea where she lives and I have no way to contact her."

My heart sunk but I nodded in understanding. She patted my shoulder "Give me some time okay? I'll see what I can do." She then clapped her hands together "Now, my album is coming out really soon. I want you guys to be the first to listen okay? We can have a girl's night at the studio."

Me and Nova squealed "Ouuu with snacks?"

"Duh! Of course!"

the studio/7 pm/

"So," Mommy spun around in the chair after letting us listen to the whole track list. "Do you guys have a favorite yet?"

Chloe thought about her answer before speaking "I like ghostin"

"Ummm" I took a bite of a snack "I like 7 rings"

Mommy sighed with a nod, laying her head down on the table. Silence consuming us for at least a minute.

Just as me and Chloe were about to get up to see if she was okay, we hear the words "Thank you"

Chloe makes eye contact with me, "For what?" We ask at the same time.

Mommy lifted her head, wiping her face. "For taking care of me," She sniffed "I don't know what I would've done or how'd I be getting through all of this if it wasn't for you two."

Chloe and I both run to give her a hug before she could cry any more. "Don't cry mama this is supposed to be a happy thing," Chloe laughed wiping away moms tears.

Mommy chuckled holding us tight "Who said they were sad tears?"

I fiddled with my fingers, tapping foot. "Mommy, daddy's birthday is coming up..." I reminded. I know she would never forget but as the dates gotten closer and closer, I've gotten more and more anxious.

"I know" Mom pulled away, her eyes glossy with tears that were threatening to fall. But she held them back, for the sake of me and Chloe. She took a deep breath. "Do you guys wanna go see him?"
