"Courtney is mommy home?" Chloe asked getting out of the car. "Of course she is. Why'd you ask" I jumped out of the car, my shoes slamming onto the pavement my hands resting on the straps of my backpack. "Because. Mommy always picks us up from school. Unless she's still mad at us" Courtney closed the car door, then leaning against it. "She's not mad-"

"Yes she is last night she screamed at us. Her face was so red" Me and Chloe starting laughing making Courtney roll her eyes. "She didn't mean to" I crossed my arms, "If she didn't mean to then why hasn't she apologized?"

We followed Courtney to the front of the house. "If you'd let me get you inside..." She let us in and we took off our backpacks setting them at the door. "Mommy" Chloe called running off to the kitchen. Normally, everyday when we came home mom would have some kind of snack prepared for us because she claims the we're "always hungry" or whatever.

"Chloe I doubt she's in there. She probably forgot-"

"Novieee come on" She shouted and I blew air though my cheeks walking into the kitchen. "Mommy made cupcakes" She smiled sitting down at the table. "Well I actually just bought them- ehhh what's the difference" Mom pulled a chair out for me to sit in which I did.

"It's not our birthday. And your letting us eat cake before dinner...man you just feel really bad" I said pealing off the wrapper of a vanilla one with pink frosting.

"Nova would you quit it with the smart comments"

"Ariana..." Courtney dragged out and her tone softened.

"I do...."She glanced a little over my head I'm guessing at Courtney and I heard her walk out. "I really want to apologize." She took a seat in front of us. "Mom we're sorry about giving you the cold shoulder this morning. We're past it now-" Chloe started but mom shook her head. "No, it's okay I deserved it. Excuse my language but I was being a bitch. I'll admit that."

"Mommy was being a bitch when she yelled at us yesterday" Chloe said causing her to laugh. "Your right, although that does not mean you get to use that word Chloe." Chloe nodded, "sorry mom"

"Oh before I forget. I'm sorry for loosing it with you two yesterday my mind was all over the place. I can't believe I said that let alone the way that I did. I'm just going through a lot right now-" She paused catching herself. "we're going through a lot right now. It's gonna take some time okay? We're still getting used to this. We have to communicate with each other about our feelings. I don't want to go through this again"

"Neither do we" Me and Chloe looked at each other agreeing. "Come here" "We love you mommy" I say as she embraced us in a hug. "I love you two more than anything"

"Now, tell me about your day I wanna hear"
