[EL] Uncontrollable Metal.
You had been hitchhiking for about three hours along a forest shrouded road before a woman pulled over and offered you a lift. Normally you would have said no, but you were in a rush, and it was beginning to storm over with the clouds blocking out most of the moons light. You forced a smile out to her as you got in the car and put your belt on, you had been thankful that she kept quiet after swallowing whatever comment she had about your attire.
"You can drop me off here," you told her grimly.
She pulled over hesitantly, especially as you were still in the middle of nowhere, and you could almost feel the fear radiating off her body like waves, it was repulsive.
You noticed a pen sticking out of the side doors holder and picked it up. She opened her mouth to say something, but you only took out some money and left it on the chair.
"For the petrol." You slammed the door and stepped away from the car as she quickly put the car in gear and drove off down the road. The headlights fading out as she turned a sharp corner.
You pulled the hood of your caped-like-coat up over your head and stood watching the side of the forest.
You were covered head-to-toe in black.
You would have looked like a soldier, with black heavy boots, black trousers and long-sleeved shirt with an armoured plate on top of it covering your chest, your hair pulled black, black smoky paint from your hairline down passed your eyes like a mask, but you weren't a soldier, not a normal one anyway.
You held the pen in your fist out in front of you with your palm facing down.
"Now," you spoke in a dead voice.
The pen began to grow out, like a long staff, it sounded like metal plates being fitted together and sharpened against each other. The pen grew out into a long black metal-looking handled hilt with a dark grey claw-like guard, you held the stick vertically with both hands and began whispering words to yourself as a sharp crystallised blade protruded out from the top, curving down towards your face until it stopped just before your forehead.
You smirked to yourself as the scythe was completed.
You could hear pounding footsteps in the forest line in front of you and you stalked forwards with your scythe in hand. You weren't afraid, and you definitely weren't going to die. You smiled to yourself when you heard panting and snarls as well as chains clanking together and bone-chilling howls.
Soon enough you ended up in a circular clearing with three large hounds in front of you, they looked like they were made out of flowing red and black lava. You stepped closer to the one in front of you and crouched down resting your free hand under its chin.
"Find them, and kill them," you spoke softly. "Make them suffer, then drag them by their ankles back down to hell from where they crawled out from, I'm sure our king will be the one to meet them at the gates with the gate keeper. Go."
You stood up and watched as the hounds descended into the woods before disappearing into a dark red smoke. They had their orders, and so did you. You turned back around and saw a man. He was in a strange suit with a helmet on his head and was watching you closely with three silver metal balls orbiting his head.
"Who are you?" He asked while tilting his head, but you gave no answer. "I'm not here to hurt you." He tried to reassure you.
He wasn't apart of your orders, but you would gladly dispose of him if you needed to. You spun the scythe in your hand and his jaw tightened.
"Very well." He smirked before holding his hand out to your staff concentrating, but nothing happened. "I don't understand," he muttered to himself.
You laughed to yourself as he tried again.
"Understand this." You grinned darkly before the ground below you opened up and you dropped through, the ground soon resealing after you.
You were gone.
-
"Charles!" Erik yelled as he stormed into the mansion, a few students whispering and shuffling away from him as he walked in further. "Charles, I need to speak with you!" He yelled once more. He turned around when he heard the sound of a wheelchair behind him.
"What is it, Erik?" He asked calmly.
"There is a mutant, one whose metal cannot be controlled by myself, they told three beasts to go find people and kill them, saying their 'king' will be waiting for them," Erik rushed out. "I couldn't control the metal, Charles." He tightened his fists.
"Erik, I would have known about another mutant, I would have seen them in cerebro," Charles stated, but the look on Erik's face made him sigh and turn around. "I'll gather a team." Erik smiled before following Charles. "And yes, I will recheck cerebro," Charles commented again before turning down a hallway.
-
"Who exactly are we looking for again?" Scott asked as he followed behind Erik.
Charles claimed that he couldn't understand how he missed the mutant Erik was talking about before and told them where he saw they would be, but not of what the mutant was capable of, he wasn't able to get into their mind.
"Because I'm not digging up a grave." Scott's lips curled up in disgust as they walked through the cemetery.
"Charles said they were here," Erik muttered as he looked around.
"Should we split up?" Kurt asked out loud.
"Good idea, splitting up and becoming weaker targets, giving them more power over us," Erik replied sarcastically, but Kurt didn't know that.
"No, we should stick together," Jean told him, Kurt nodded to himself before looking around. "Charles was right, I can't get into their mind either. They must be blocking us somehow," Jean concluded to Erik, who only tightened his jaw.
"I wonder what she can do," Raven spoke quietly.
"Why don't you just ask?" You spoke up making them jump and turn around. You were perched up on one of the taller grave stones, an angel that is. "I have no problem with telling you." You shrugged.
"Nice weapon." Peter pointed out.
"It's a pen." You smirked as confusion was evident in their expressions.
"We aren't here to hurt you," Erik mentioned again.
"No, I know that. You couldn't hurt me even if you tried," you replied in a smug tone. "What do you want exactly? I have orders to attend to, and you're getting in the way." You sighed.
"Can you put the weapon away?" Raven asked uneasily.
You raised your eyebrows and they watched in awe as the crystallised blade quickly sunk back into the handle and it shrunk into your hand. You threw it at their feet and waited for a response.
"It's a pen." Scott picked it up. "I don't understand?" You couldn't see his eyes but you knew he was just as confused as before.
"It's their mutation, to create an artefact such as a weapon from an object," Jean spoke up causing you to clap slowly three times.
"Red head here gets it." You tilted your head before dropping back down to the ground taking the pen back from Scott. "I know all about you." You smiled a fake smile as each of them. "I've done my research; my boys should be back any minute." You glanced over to Erik. "You remember my boys, don't you? Big, deadly beasts." You turned away and walked along one of the paths.
"Who did you send them to kill?" Erik followed you cautiously.
"I don't usually ask many questions to my leader, all I know is that he asks for me to dispose of anyone who tried to cheat their way out of death." You looked at Erik. "He punishes those who have done wrong, usually after spending a few centuries in purgatory." You shrugged like it meant nothing to you.
"Who is he?" Erik asked.
"The devil," you spoke as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Well, that depends." You smirked.
"On?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Whether you're human or mutant and if you believe in the devil." You crossed your arms over your chest. "Humans get purgatory then hell, they don't get to decide or repent or prove they are worthy of 'heaven'. Mutants, on the other hand, are stripped of their abilities once they are forced to another realm." You heard the hounds in the distance, and so did the others. "I don't make the rules, I just enforce them." You saw the others walking over slowly as the hounds snarled and snapped at them.
"Why couldn't I control your metal?" Erik spoke up as you stepped in front of the others calming the hounds down, you laughed at his question.
"It's not metal." You shook your head. "It's graphene." You petted one of the hounds. "You can't control it." You nodded to the hounds and they began to run back to the woods before disappearing in the red smoke.
"What are you?" Kurt asked.
"A mutant, just like you," you told him.
"Why are you killing humans and mutants?" He asked again, his tail swishing behind him.
"Not killing." You held a finger up shaking it. "Punishing." You crossed your arms. "There's a difference," you told him.
"Which is?" Raven tightened her fists by her side.
"You only get punished if you have done wrong, you don't punish the innocent, that's torture, the guilty deserve whatever is given to them. Look, I'm not the bad guy here, I'm someone who just follows my orders, much like yourselves. I just don't live on the surface like you," you explained. "I walk among demons and mutants, you walk among humans and mutants." You leaned against as grave stone. "Anything else? My king will be expecting me." You played with the pen in your hand.
"Will we see you again?" Jean asked suddenly.
"Why?" You responded.
"It's just a question." She looked down.
"Listen, kid-" You started.
"You're a kid yourself." Peter pointed out.
"I'm almost as old as the Earth." You sighed. "Being immortal and all." You shrugged.
"Will we?" Erik asked and you furrowed your eyebrows. "See you I mean; will we see you again?" You smirked.
"Meet me here tomorrow night, just you, and we can discuss further meetings." You winked at him before the ground opened up beneath you. "Goodbye metal man." You smirked before dropping down.
"Did you just get offered a date?" Raven asked unsurely.
"Yes, I believe I did." Erik smirked to himself before walking down the path out of the cemetery.
