Biography
Logan was born as James Howlett in 19th century Canada, son to wealthy farm owners John and Elizabeth Howlett. However, his true father was Thomas Logan, the farm's groundskeeper who had an affair with his mother.
After Thomas is fired and thrown off the property by John after he tried to rape Elizabeth, he returns to the manor and kills John with a shotgun. In retaliation, an angered young James awakens his powers, killing Thomas with his bone claws. Just before dying, Thomas reveals that he is his father.
Eventually fleeing the country, James, now going by his birth father's name Logan, lives out his life in the wilderness, staying with the Blackfoot tribe of Native Americans.
At some point during his adulthood, Logan returned to civilization where he fought in both first and second world wars. It was also during the WWII that he met Captain America, who he teamed up with while fighting Hydra. He was the only person with authority that Logan respected. Logan was also part of mission to liberate concentration camps in Auschwitz, which happen to be where Erik Lehnsherr was (who would later become Magneto in the future).
Later, he is recruited into CIA black ops team of Mutant soldiers and mercenaries called Team X. After leaving Team X and joining Canadian Defense Ministry, he is abducted by the Weapon X Program that experiments on him, in which bonding his skeleton with Adamantium. Eventually he escapes but the experimentations caused him to lose his memories. Later, he recovers and returns to work as an intelligence operative for Canadian government, and one of Canada's first superheroes, going by Wolverine.
Later, Wolverine is recruited by Professor Charles Xavier to be part of his X-Men team, including the original members Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, and Angel, while also including new recruits Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Gambit, and Shadowcat. During his time as an X-Man, he tended to be a loner and an outsider, and becomes a rival to Cyclops due to entering a love triangle with his lover, Jean Grey. However, he warmed up to his new teammates. As for the team's battle against Magneto and his Brotherhood, he became the bitter enemy of Sabretooth, who was also a member of Team X.
After Jean's seeming demise when she becomes Dark Phoenix after becoming possessed by the Phoenix Force, Logan and Cyclops let go of their differences and become friends, while remembering Jean and also mourning Xavier's death when he sacrifices his life to defeat the Phoenix Force. Logan decides to permanently stay with the X-Men and becomes a teacher at the Xavier Institute.
Powers
Mutant Physiology: Triggered by watching his father's death, Logan's X-genes were unlocked which caused his genetics to be mutated and awaken his powers. His body is already enhanced during his time in Weapon X, which involved coating his skeleton in adamantium.

The claws are naturally razor sharp and tough. Originally they were regular bones, though they were quite resilient, but after being coated with Adamantium, they became indestructible and were able to pierce or slice through any material.
Accelerated Healing Factor: Logan's another powerful ability is to regenerate his power damaged or destroyed tissues of his body far beyond that of normal humans. In addition to accelerated healing of physical traumas, Logan's healing factor makes him extraordinarily resistant to diseases, drugs, toxins, and even toward mental attacks. Logan's healing factor also dramatically affects his aging process, allowing him to live far beyond the normal lifespan of normal humans. Despite being born in the late 19th century, he has the appearance, conditioning, health and vitality of a man in his physical prime. While seemingly ageless, it is unknown exactly how greatly his healing factor extends his life expectancy. However, his healing factor doesn't dull the pain from damages he takes.
