(Flashback two years ago)

Alex was preparing for his Christmas date with help from his best friends Junichi and Seth.

Seth: dude, you look good

Junichi: feeling nervous, Alex?

Alex: since when I'm ever nervous?

Junichi: you got a good point

Seth: dude, you better go now

Alex: right, I'll see you guys later

Alex left his house and drove to the park, where he is meeting his date. He was all confident since tonight was Christmas Eve.

Alex arrived at the park and parked his car. He went out and sat on a bench waiting for her. Their meeting time was 7:00 and right now on Alex's watch was 6:30, so he was early.

(30 minutes later)

It was now 7:00, and Alex's date has not shown up yet.

Alex: hmm, maybe she's fixing her make up

He continued to wait as it was starting to snow.

(1 hour later)

Alex's date has not shown up, and the high school student is starting to worry.

Alex: where is she?

He went out of the park entrance to see his car was the only one there. There were no other cars passing by. Alex became disappointed and sad; he gave up waiting, so he decided to go home. He went in his house and laid face first on the bed.

(Two years later, December 1)

Alex was now a high school junior and it was close towards Christmas break. Still haunted from his rejection two years ago, he kept his heart closed in a cage, and has never been in a relationship since. Alex wore his school uniform and left his house.

He walked to school while wearing earphones as he was listening to music, so he can zone himself from the other people. As he was walking, he felt a hand on his shoulders; he turned around to see his best friend Seth.

Seth: hey, what's up man?!

Alex: feeling glum, since Christmas is coming... again

Seth: oh, come on man, where's your Christmas spirit

Alex: ...

Seth: so, did you find any girl during the semester?

Alex: no

Seth realized that his friend was still haunted from his past.

Seth: dude, it's been two years, let it go

Alex: Seth, it still hurts, and it was on Christmas Eve of all days

Seth: come on man, the past is the past; hopefully the future will look good

Alex: hopefully

Then Seth spotted Junichi and Masayoshi.

Seth: Junichi! Masayoshi!

The two Japanese students turned to see Seth. They're happy as their group is reunited.

Junichi: Seth, how you doing?

Seth: look at me, I've been working out

Masayoshi: I see, with a body like that, you got a lot of girls all over you

Seth: well, I don't want to brag-

Masayoshi: Rollins, you lucky man

Seth: hehehe

Junichi: Alex, how are you?

Alex: I'm okay

Junichi could tell by the tone of his voice, Alex was not okay.

Junichi: still won't let go

Masayoshi: still hurts, man?

Alex: yes, but Seth told me to move on and go forward

Junichi: I agree with Seth

Masayoshi: yeah, and Alex if you're lonely, you can peek from my collection-

Junichi: damn it Umehara, you should know Alex is pure

Seth: keep those "treasure books" as what Junichi's sister says, away from him

Masayoshi: sorry, just a suggestion

Alex: you guys are sometimes idiots

As the four friends continued walking, they saw Kaoru.

Junichi: hey Kaoru!

Kaoru turned around and ran to the boys.

Kaoru: good morning, boys

Junichi: how are you, Kaoru?

Kaoru: still working part time at a restaurant

Seth: if we eat there, can you give us discounts?

Kaoru: the only thing free is coffee

Junichi: if only I'm not short on money

Kaoru: how is Alex?

Seth: he's still feeling the pain

Kaoru: oh, I see; sorry I asked

Alex: it's fine, Kaoru; I'll be alright

Masayoshi: come on guys, or we're gonna be late

Alex: our class starts at 8:15, and it's 7:30 so we have a lot of time

The five friends walked until some group of people caught the boys' attention.

Seth: hey boys, look who's in front

Masayoshi: wow, they're beautiful

Junichi: Morishima-senpai

In front of the five were the group of pretty and popular girls: Haruka Morishima, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce and their leader Alexa Bliss.

Alex: Alexa

Alexa is one of the popular girls, and she and Haruka are long time friends. The two welcomed Billie and Peyton with open arms.

Alex was in a trance like state as Alexa's beauty put him in hypnosis.

Alex's mind: Alexa Bliss, one of the prettiest girls in school is beautiful as always. Just like Haruka, she has a lot of fans; I heard she turned down one guy from her class. She's my dream girl, but way out of my league although I had a crush on her since 1st year, but never told her since we had different classes

Seth: Alex?

Alex: huh?

Junichi: you've spaced out, are you okay?

Alex: uh yeah

Kaoru: no he's not, he was paying attention to Alexa

Alex: how do you know that?

Kaoru: instincts

Seth: Alexa can be your future girlfriend

Alex: whatever guys

The five reached the school grounds and went inside the campus.

(8:15, class starts)

The teacher made an announcement that Kibito High School's Founder's Day festival is in a few weeks, and she asks the students who to take charge of the festival preparation. It didn't take too long for the class representative, Tsukasa Ayatsuji to volunteer. As class was over, it was lunch break.

Seth: who's hungry?

Masayoshi: you didn't have to ask

Junichi: me too

Kaoru: I'm hungry as well

Alex: sure, I want some lunch

Kaoru: wait, who's buying?

Junichi: are we doing this again?

Kaoru: yes, loser buys us lunch

The five played a quick game of rock, paper, scissors, and this time Alex lost.

Seth: get me a bread roll!

Junichi: yakisoba and soda please!

Kaoru: same!

Masayoshi: two bread rolls!

Alex: yeah yeah

As Alex went to the lunch room, it was all hell as it was crowded with students getting their lunch.

Alex: damn, the dreaded lunch rush

Alex saw a freshman struggling to get her lunch. He went to her and offered his help.

Alex: what do you want?

The girl stuttered as she shyly said.

Girl: I-I want a bread roll and milk tea

Alex: alright, give me a second

He squeezed through the crowd and managed to buy the girl's lunch along with his friends' food. He gave a small bag to the girl.

Girl: t-thank you

Alex: you're welcome

Unbeknownst to him, Alex's kindness was spotted by a girl with blonde hair with pink tips.

Alex walked back to the classroom with a bag of food. He walked, but didn't watch where he was walking, so he tripped on a piece of uneven flooring, and fell flat on his face.

???: are you okay?

Alex recognized that it was a girl's voice; the girl held his hand out and helped Alex to his feet. As Alex fixed himself, he saw that the girl who helped him was Alexa Bliss.

Alexa: you okay?

She said with a cute smile.

Alex: uh yeah

Alexa: here's your bag; are you gonna eat all of these?

Alex: no, some of these are for my friends

Alexa: I see; I saw that you helped that freshman

Alex: yup. that was me

Alexa: you're a nice guy

Alex was a bit surprised.

Alexa: I gonna go; don't trip again

The Goddess walked away, leaving Alex in a state. He regained his senses and walked back.

Alexa looked back to see Alex as he walked away. She smiled until she was snapped out by her best friend Haruka.

Haruka: Alexa!

Alexa: hey Haruka!

Haruka: I just saw you were talking to some guy

Alexa: ah, he tripped and fell, so I helped him

Haruka: aww, you're nice and caring as always

Alexa: just like you

Haruka: let's go get lunch

Alexa: I'm pretty sure it's still crowded

The two popular girls went to the cafeteria to get their lunch.

(With Alex)

Seth: dude, what took you so long?

Masayoshi: I almost died from hunger

Alex: it's the daily lunch rush as usual

Kaoru: let's dig in, guys!

As the friends ate, Alex thought of his sudden meeting with Alexa Bliss.

(2 hours later)

Class was over, but the teacher announced a quiz on Friday, so Alex decided to go the library to do some studying. Junichi and Masayoshi were somewhere reading their "treasure books," Kaoru went to work and Seth decided to study as well.

Alex went to the library to see some students there as well. He found Seth sitting at a table on his laptop; he walked towards the table, but he inadvertently bumped into someone.

Alex: oh, I'm sorry!

He saw that the person he bumped into was Alexa.

Alexa: ow

Alex: Alexa?!

Alexa: oh, it's you again; the guy who tripped. Nice timing!

(Outside the library)

Alex was helping Alexa carrying a heavy stack of books.

Alexa: it's so nice of you to help carry these for me

Alex: i-it's nothing; sorry again I bumped into you, I wasn't looking

Alexa giggled.

Alexa: it's fine, I didn't look where I was going too

Then Alexa saw Haruka.

Alexa: Haruka!

Haruka: hey Alexa, and I see you have a friend with you

Alex was feeling frozen and tense as he was in the presence of the two popular and prettiest girls in school.

Alexa: well thanks for carrying my books for me; oh sorry, I didn't catch your name

Alex: right, uh my name is A-Alex Auditore

Alexa: well thanks for your help Alex!

Alexa took her books and put her hand on Alex's upper arm.

Alexa: thanks again, you're really nice!

Haruka: and you're cute as well

Alex blushed a bit and rubbed the back of his neck.

Alexa: well, I hope to see you again, Alex

Alex: me too

Haruka: Alexa and Alex, you two make a perfect match!

Alexa: Haruka!

Alex gave a sly grin as he and the girls went their separate ways. As he went back to the library, he was surprised to see Seth outside.

Alex: dude

Seth: I saw everything, man

Alex: what?

Seth: come on, don't act like you don't know

Alex had a confused look on his face.

Seth: dude, you were with Alexa and Haruka

Alex: yeah so?

Seth: have you gotten the fact that you're with two of the most prettiest and popular girl in school?

Alex: it all happened because I didn't look where I was going and then "boom" I bumped into Alexa

Seth: that's what we call fate

Alex: look man, a girl like Alexa is out of my league; there's no way she'll fall in love with a guy like me

Seth: never say never, bro

Alex: whatever man, let's go

The two best friends went out of the campus and met up with Junichi and Masayoshi.

Alex: you guys go ahead, I may have forgotten something in the classroom

Junichi: alright, we'll see you tomorrow

Seth: later man

Alex went back into the school grounds. As he was about to go in the campus, he spotted Alexa sitting down on the school fountain. He thought of his earlier encounters with the Goddess and feels that his heart wants to open up, so he gathered up his courage and walked to Alexa.

Alex: hey Alexa

Alexa: oh hi Alex, I thought you left

Alex: yeah, I forgot something and I was about to get it, but then I saw you

Alexa giggled.

Alex's mind: she looks so beautiful

Alex: A-Alexa?

Alexa: yes?

Alex: I just want to know, how long you and Haruka been friends?

Alexa: oh, me and her go way back to middle school, and since then we've been inseparable

Alex: and I see you two's reputation here

Alexa: yes, me and Haruka have swarm of guys wanting to go out with us

Alex: and I heard from Junichi and Seth, you've turned them all down

Alexa: yup, but sometimes we like the attention, but not too much of it

Alex: yeah

Alexa: come on sit here, I feel sorry for you

Alex: o-okay

He sat down on the fountain next to Alexa.

Alex: I hope you don't mind me asking this, but who is your type?

Alexa: type of guy I like?

Alex: yes

Alexa: hmm, well he has to be nice with a good heart, loves animals because I have three dogs and a pig at home, he has to be smart like taking his education seriously and always there to protect me

Hearing Alexa's characteristics made Alex a bit confident.

Alex: oh, I hope you'll find him someday

Alexa: just before our high school years end

Alex then gathered up his courage.

Alex: Alexa?

Alexa: yes Alex?

Alex: I hope you don't find this weird, but since I saw you in the beginning of our high school year, I always had a crush on you

Alexa: me?

Alex nodded.

Alexa: I don't know what to say, I'm really surprised

Alex: sorry, but I had to get it out

Alexa: it's okay, but why are you telling me this now?

Alex: because we had different classes back then

Alexa nodded.

Alexa: you got a point

The Goddess stood up and faced Alex with a smile.

Alexa: are you glad to let it all out?

Alex: y-yes

Alexa: if you're glad then I accept and understand it

Alex: are we friends then?

Alexa: of course

She playfully pinched Alex's cheek while she giggled.

Alexa: you're so cute when you're lost in mind, just like a puppy

Alex: I'm glad we have a mutual understanding

Alexa: and if you do have something important to say to me, don't hesitate

Alex: I-I will

Alexa: I have to go now, see you tomorrow Alex

She gave Alex a side hug, much to his surprise; then the Goddess left. Alex went in the campus, and luckily it was still unlocked, so he got his notebook he forgotten and went home.

At his house, Alex was doing his homework while he thought about his talk with Alexa. Her kind and caring personality made him believe in love again, and decides to let his heart out of its proverbial cage. He went to bed thinking of how he should confess his feelings to his dream girl who at the same time someone out of his league, but he had the confidence and fell asleep.
