The Story: For over 400 days, John Cena has been Intercontinental Champion, he has turned away every challenger and has stayed on top of the mountain.

On an episode of RAW, Ricochet made his main roster debut and accepted John Cena's challenge for a match at Wrestlemania.

At NXT Takeover Orlando, Ricochet successfully defended the NXT North American Championship against Tyler Bate. After the match, Cena congradulated the young upstart. The two then had an intense staredown, ready to fight for the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania!

Announcements: The following contest is for the Intercontinental Championship! Introducing first the challenger, from Orlando,Florida weighing in at 199 lbs, he is the NXT North American Champion, Ricochet!

And from West Newbury Massachusetts, weighing in at 250 lbs, he is the Intercontinental Champion, John Cena!

The match: The two champions stare each other down and they enter a collar and elbow tie up. They exchange holds with each other, but neither man obtains the advantage.

Cena then traps Ricochet in a body sciscors hold, hoping to ground Ricochet, but Ricochet slips out and he hits John with a swift dropkick. Being caught off guard, Cena smiles and he regains his composure.

Ricochet begins to build momentum against Cena, but the champion counters with a dropkick of his own. Cena begins to wear down Ricochet in the corner, and remains in control for five minutes!

As Cena whips Ricochet into the ropes, Richochet hits a Handspring cutter on Cena, to the surprise of everybody! Ricochet goes for the cover but Cena kicks out at two.

Ricochet begins to attack Cena, bouncing back at him, but Cena hits him with two shoulder tackles and a spin-out powerbomb. Cena tries to go for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Ricochet traps Cena in a Triangle Hold. Cena powers out by slamming Ricochet onto the mat.

Cena then goes to the top rope and he hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle from the top rope! Cena tries for the AA, but Ricochet hits him with an enziguri to the back of Cena's skull. Ricochet hits Cena with a Suplex and Falcon combination for a long two count.

Ricochet then goes for a Moonsault to the outside, but Cena catches him with a sudden Attitude Adjustment on the floor! Cena rolls Ricochet into the ring, covers him, but he kicks out at two.

Cena goes to the top rope, but Ricochet stops him and he climbs up. Cena punches Ricochet in the face, before headbutting him off of the turnbuckle. Cena tries for a Leg Drop, but he is chaught by Ricochet. Ricochet hits a buckle bomb on Cena and he follows it up with a running spanish fly. Ricochet then goes to the top rope and he hits the 630 on Cena. Ricochet goes for the cover, but Cena kicks out at two and a half!

Ricochet stands in disbelief, over not having defeated Cena. Ricochet tries to pick up Cena, but Cena hits him with a DDT and he traps him in the STF. Ricochet manages to reach the bottom rope to break the hold.

Cena drags the lifeless body of Ricochet  and he places him on the top rope. Cena then hits a Super Attitude Adjustment, slamming Ricochet to the mat. Cena covers Ricochet, but the challenger kicks out at two and a half!

As Cena and Ricochet get to their feet, they begin to trade punches back and forth. Cena kicks Ricochet in the gut and he hits him with a springboard stunner. Cena tries for an AA, but Ricochet lands on his feet and he hits Cena with an AA, shocking everyone. Ricochet hits the 630 and gets the biggest win of his career!

Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion, Ricochet!
