WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
The Story: At Summerslam, Sean Mercer captured the World Heavyweight Championship, in the second annual "King of the Mountain" match, cementing his status as a main eventer. The following week on RAW, Daniel Bryan would enact his rematch clause and challenge Mercer to a match at Night Of Champions.
Mercer would agree, only if Bryan would name the stipulation. Daniel Bryan chose a Submission match, putting the Champion at a distinct disadvantage.
Mercer is going into a match, where it favors the challenger. Can Mercer overcome the odds, or will Daniel Bryan reclaim what he lost?

The Match: In the first half of the match, Daniel Bryan dominated Mercer with various holds, mainly focusing on his arm. Bryan locks in an Armbar submission hold, further wearing Mercer down. After minutes of getting overwhelmed, Mercer counters the Armbar, by slamming Bryan onto the mat. Bryan then tries to roundhouse kick Mercer, but Mercer does a Dragon Sweep on Bryan's right leg.
Mercer then focuses his attack on Bryan's leg, hitting a knee drop that leaves the challenger screaming in pain. Mercer then traps Bryan in a Figure Four Leg Lock, around the ring post. As Daniel screamed in agony, Mercer reliquishes the hold. Mercer then goes under the ring, and he pulls out a Steel Chair. He tries to hit Bryan with it, but Bryan counters with a dropkick.
Bryan then sets Mercer in the corner, and he places the Steel Chair in Mercer's face. Bryan then heads to the top rope, and he does a Coast to Coast front dropkick, devastating Mercer. Daniel Bryan then begins to hit the Kneeling Kick Combo, Mercer however, counters the last kick, into an Achilles tendon lock. After being locked in the hold for Five minutes, Daniel Bryan breaks out of the hold, but the damage to his leg was done.
Mercer then goes out of the ring, and the crowd cheers when he gets out his Nightstick. But Daniel Bryan hits him with a Suicide Dive. Daniel Bryan then begins to kick Mercer in the chest, over and over again, before kicking him in the side of the head. Bryan then sees the Nightstick, and he tries to use it on Mercer, but Mercer counters it into the Vigilance Butterfly Backbreaker.
Mercer then goes underneath the ring again, and he pulls out a Stop Sign. He then hits Bryan in the face with the Stop Sign. Mercer then brings Bryan back into the ring. Mercer then tries to set up for the Batman Strike, but Bryan catches him with a Guillotine Choke. Mercer then reverses it, into a Crossface. Bryan however, manages to slip out of the hold, and he locks Mercer in the Yes Lock. Mercer then breaks out of the Yes Lock, and he traps Bryan in the Sharpshooter.
Bryan then grabs a Kendo Stick, that Mercer tossed in the ring earlier, and he hits Mercer in the back. Bryan then hits the Running Knee, and he locks Mercer in the Yes Lock once again. As Mercer tries to break out, Daniel grabs Mercer's Nightstick for extra leverage. Mercer manages to power out, and hits Daniel with a straight kick to the skull.
Mercer then goes to the top rope, but Daniel Bryan meets him up there. The two then trade punches back and forth, but Mercer wins the tussle. The WWE Universe then erupts in amazement, as Mercer Superplexes Daniel Bryan, onto the arena floor. Mercer then gets to his feet, and he places Bryan in the ring. Mercer grabs his Nightstick, and he signals for the Batman Strike.
Daniel Bryan then catches Mercer, with another running knee. Daniel Bryan then goes to the top rope, for a Diving Headbutt, but Mercer catches him in mid flight, with a Nightstick Batman Strike! The WWE Universe then begins to chant Holy Shit, as Mercer feels the momentum shifting his way. Mercer then traps Bryan in a new submission move, the Figure Four Sharpshooter. Daniel Bryan then passes out, from the pain, giving Mercer the win.
