The Story: On the RAW After Night Of Champions, Seth Rollins won a battle Royal to become the #1 contender, for Sean Mercer's World Heavyweight Championship.

The two Shield members then found out, that their Championship Match would take place inside Hell In a Cell. Making the stakes of the match, even higher.

On the final RAW before Hell In a Cell, Seth Rollins and Sean Mercer, defeated The Vaudevillans in a Tag Team match, but Seth Rollins, sent a message to Sean Mercer, by delivering a Curb Stomp to him, on top of the Announce Table. On Smackdown, Mercer responded by viciously attacking Rollins, and slamming him through a table.

The Match: Sean Mercer, from the get go, begins to brutally attack Seth Rollins, busting him open early with well placed elbows to his head. Mercer then takes Rollins outside, and he begins to physically dissect him. Mercer grabs Rollins, and he slams his face into the cell wall, he then throws him back first into it.

Mercer then begins to grind Rollins face even more, causing more blood to spill. Mercer then gets out a chair, and he hits Rollins in the face with it. Mercer then throws the chair into the ring, and he places Rollins into the ring. Mercer then takes the chair, and he attempts to hit Rollins, but Seth hits Mercer with a knee, causing the chair to bounce off of Mercer's skull.

Bloodied, Seth Rollins takes the chair, and he begins to hit Mercer with 13 chair shots. Seth Rollins then goes out of the ring, and he gets out a Barb-wired Steel Chair. Rollins then rips the protective Kevlar off of Mercer, and he hits him in the back, with the Barb-wired chair. Writhing in pain, Mercer is then hit in the back again, with the Chair wrapped in Barb-wire.

Seth Rollins then tries to go for a flying knee Springboard, but Mercer catches him with a dropkick, in mid air. Mercer then grabs the Chair, and he begins to rake Rollins' face across it. Sean Mercer then throws Seth back outside, and he gives him a Belly to Belly Suplex, onto the cell wall.

Sean Mercer then picks up the steel steps, and he hits Seth Rollins with them, while running at full speed. Mercer then gets the base of the ring steps and he places them in the ring. Seth Rollins then blasts Mercer, with a Springboard Knee, and he DDT'S him on the Barbed Wire Chair, lying in the center of the ring.

Upon impact, Mercer is busted open, and Seth Rollins grinds the chair in Mercer's face, ripping and tearing at his cut. Rollins then takes out a Table, and he sets it up in the corner. Rollins tries to Powerbomb Mercer through the Table, but Mercer counters it, and he hits an inverted neckbreaker. Mercer then goes for the cover, but Rollins kicks out at two.

Mercer then calls for the Batman Strike, while taking out his Nightstick. Rollins however, counters the attempt, by hitting Mercer with the Arvada Kerdava super kick. Rollins then hits the Curb Stomp, and he goes for the cover, but Mercer kicks out at two.

Seth Rollins places Mercer's face on the base part of the steel steps, and he goes for a Curb Stomp, but Mercer hits a devastating Batman Strike in mid air, knocking out Rollins. Mercer then hits a FTD on Rollins, planting him face first into the steel steps for the win.

Winner and Still World Heavyweight Champion: Sean Mercer.

After the match: As Mercer celebrates his victory, flames shoot up from the ramp. Kane makes his return, and he attacks both Rollins and Mercer. Kane then Chokeslam's Rollins through a table, while he Tombstones Mercer, onto the steel steps. Kane then lights the four corners on fire, sending a message to the champion.
