Drew McIntyre

As usual Y/N found herself lost in the TV screen backstage as the Scottish Psychopath Drew McIntyre had a dominating victory over Dean Ambrose in a Last Man Standing Match.

Y/N was attracted. She knew about it. May be others would call her fascination with Drew a 'crush' but the term itself seemed too stereotypical to Y/N. She admired him, she loved watching his matches and she could very well feel the vibrations surrounding her when she saw him. She was infatuated with him, she shyly admitted to herself.

'Well, guess somebody's got a crush!' Y/N heard Nattie's voice from behind. The sudden statement made her heart jump in fear and embarrassment.

Y/N looked around holding a serious face. 'When did you come?' She asked in her natural polite tone.

Nattie smirked. 'When you were busy drooling at Drew, perhaps.' The Canadian winked.

Y/N felt vulnerable all of a sudden. Perhaps, it was the universal problem with introverts. No. She was never going to let her heart out.

'No.' Y/N shook her head playing indifferent. 'It was a great match. Yoi should have seen it, Nattie.' She played cool.

Being one of the most experienced female in the wwe roster, it wasn't too hard for Nattie to figure out the strange discomfort within the younger lady but knowing Y/N as the introvert person, she let it pass.

The same continued for months and perhaps, an year. Y/N always watched Drew from far, despite being in the same roster. His matches, his sculpted physique, his Scottish accent everything felt so warming to her. But, Y/N being Y/N was too scared to approach the Scottish superstar for a talk.

This was probably a result of her two failed relationships from past. In both the relationships, she had tried to love her partner unconditionally, but that was never reciprocated. She was cheated in both occasions with her heart broken and feeling so low about herself. From then, she had refrained from getting into a relationship and focused mostly on her career, family and girl-friends which she felt was enough for sustenance.

She often searched about Drew on Google but she never actually reached out to know if he was single. She once heard about his broken marriage with the beautiful Teryn Terrell who she remembered wrestling in an indie circuit when she was 17 years old.  But now, she wasn't sure. Of course, someone as hot, charming and talented as Drew definitely wouldn't be single. May be he had someone just as beautiful as Teryn or may be more.
Y/N almost perceived Drew as a star that she could see shining from far but never get to touch or even get closer to it.

Y/N was busy rehearsing her and Nia's segment with Charly Caruso. Nia wasn't here yet. So, Y/N saw Charly and made sure she practiced enough to give her best shot for the interview.

'...and Charly, that's the reason I see Nia nothing more than a frustrated bully who has nothing better than to play a crab and pull down every single person down who trusted her as a friend.' Y/N said with utmost intensity, impressive Charly.

'And what about Nia, now having Tamina by her side? Is that gonna be tough considering you have to enter the Samoan Slaughter House all alone?' Charly questioned the exact thing she was supposed to in the real interview.

Y/N chuckled. 'Charli, the biggest thing I've learnt from life is you are strongest when you are alone, with only yourself to depend upon and...'

'Charli!' Y/N's rehearsal was cut off by a familiar husky voice.
The recognition of the voice made Y/N's heart stop.

She turned aside to see Drew McIntyre walking to their direction. With wet hair falling on his face and the black trench coat adorning his body, he looked nothing less than a Greek God.

'Drew!' Charli asked confused by the arrival as much as Y/N.

Y/N just looked around nervously.

'Charli, I have an important meeting in ten minutes. So, can we just tape my interview for later right now?' He asked  gently with his sexy Scottish accent. '...of course, if Miss Y/L/N doesn't have a problem with it?' He spared a short glance towards Y/N.

Y/N on the other hand was almost frozen. First thing that came to her mind was, Drew actually spoke to her for the first time and secondly, he actually knows her name or last name to be exact.

But, before Y/N could even move her lips and process her mind, Charli spoke.

'Oh no. Y/N and I were just rehearsing. Not a problem. I'm ready to do your interview. Just got to call Sam and Rory for the taping.' Charli said looking around for the crew members.

'Well, thanks in that case.' Drew smiled, showing off his dimples. His focus was definitely towards Charli for preponing his interview and not much towards Y/N.

Y/N didn't know what to do or is there anything she needed to say or do. After a lot of thought, 'Uh..I'll just call the boys.' She said looking at Charli and making an exit from the situation as fast as she could, without even waiting for the 'thanks' from Charli and any reaction from Drew.

Two days later, Charli and Y/N met again at Sasha's place. They were celebrating Sarath's birthday. Though Y/N was not a talking-type, she sure was fun around with her friends and a fiery eagle when she was in the ring.

'And what about you, Y/N? Are the wedding bells near?' Sasha asked as the girls had their chit-chat over the drinks.

'Oh my god! You got to be kidding Mercy! Wedding and me...nah..' Y/N said gulping down some Sprite.

'Of course, who didn't see that coming! In all these years, I've never seen this girl mingling with a single boy. She doesn't even check out anyone in the roaster!' Liv said emphasizing on the last word.

Nattie who was intoxicated chuckled. 'I disagree.' She spoke in the drunk tone.

That small memory of past made Y/N conscious enough but thankfully, everyone got busy elsewhere kind of ignoring the drunk words of Nattie.

'You're right Liv.' Charli joined. 'Can you believe it she was so curt the other day that Drew asked me if she was okay and always like this.' Charli giggled but her words made Y/N's eyes frown.

Who asked about her?

Being both curious and hesitant, Y/N finally decided not to churn the topic more and keep silent. Everyone laughed and the moment passed.

Today, Drew finally had his moment. He beat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania to become the wwe championship. She had seen his struggle in the Chronicle released by wwe. She was happy, really happy.

Drew walked backstage after winning the title, recieving a lot of cheers and applause from people gathering around,  trying to maintain the social distancing.

Sheamus was the first person to hug the new champion. There was a chorus of 'congrats man!' from the male folk. The happiness was so evident in Drew's face. Y/N stood with Billy and Peyton, who were all in praises for the new champ. Drew proceeded to hug Vince Mcmahon and Triple H, followed by other wwe supporters, one by one.

Y/N felt insecure. She wished she could show her actually emotions and tell Drew how good and deserving he was abd hug him tight like she always wanted to. But, then again, won't it be weird considering they never spoke. Who knows what Drew thinks about her or does he think about her at all? It was his day, after all.

Dolph congratulated his former tag team partner and then it was Bobby Roode. The Iconics were up next and then it was her. Y/N looked at Drew. She fisted her hands in nervousness. What was she gonna tell him? Will she hug him or...thinking all those stuffs and battling her continuous inhibitions, Y/N backed a couple of steps, not realizing Alexa, who was next in line, proceeded few steps and after Drew's sweet three-way hug moment with the Iconics, proceeded to hug Drew, skipping Y/N's turn in the process.

Drew went on. He was so happy and consumed that this small unfortunate incident might not have even neared his consciousness. Y/N was speechless and as always, she knew she missed her turn. It was fine. But, her inner self twitched and even though she tried to ignore, tears threatened to prick her eyes. She couldn't congratulate him.

^^^^^

Drew was now not just the wwe champion but also the locker room leader of raw. As the leader, he tried to keep an eye on everything in the locker room, watch every match and stay till the last. He was so cooperative to his coworkers.

The stories of his efficiency and goodness reached Y/N's ears too. For a moment, she felt her chest swell with pride even though there was no reason to. With his career reach the pinnacle, Drew was way out of her league now. She'd still watch his matches though and saw him transform his character from a brutal heal to a surreal babyface.

Another thing that Y/N had to deal with was Naomi's information of how Dolph Ziggler wanted to know about Y/N and whether she was single and blah blah. Of course, even the regular teasing from Naomi and Renee failed to generate any kind of interest in Dolph in her.

^^^^^^^^^

Y/N was scheduled to have one on one match with Dana today and it was for Asuka's raw women's championship.

They have discussed the match for some time and Y/N had decided to give her best to the virtual audience, since she is booked to win. She has seen people demanding a championship opportunity for her on social media. She doesn't want to let them down.

'Y/N and Dana to the gorilla in ten minutes.' Mike announced and both the  women smiled fist bumping each other.

'Let's win the house, Y/N.' Dana said.

'And the whole wwe universe.' Y/N said enthusiastically.

Dana nodded and the girls started making their ways towards the gorilla, only to be stopped as they saw Drew McIntyre approaching from the other side with a formal smile on his lips.

'Hello ladies!' The Sexy Scotsman greeted. 'Gotto give a worthy main event.'

Dana chuckled and Y/N gave a tight-lipped smile playing that typical third-wheel of every conversation.

'Of course, we will. You will be glued to screen, I promise.' Dana said to Drew, sparing an excited glance towards Y/N.

'Oh! I really want to. Better not disappoint me.' Drew said chuckling.

A small smile appeared on Y/N's face. Of course, she'll not disappoint him.

'We don't disappoint, champ. We all appoint.' Dana said. 'Isn't it Y/N?' Dana nudged her opponent.

Y/N looked up and accidentally her eyes fell straight on Drew's. 'Hmm..' she nodded with a small smile, looking away immediately.

Drew smiled. 'So, good luck...' he held his hand out. Dana shook his hand. 'Thank you, Drew. We're gonna rock the stage.' She said smiling and starting to walk pass, Y/N following her.

'Uh..I was wishing both of you, by the way.' He said right before Y/N walked past him.

Y/N's heart jumped and her eyes moved to spot the mysterious smile on Drew's face. He still held his hand.

Y/N gulped. 'Thank you.' She said softly as her hand touched Drew's. Drew caught hold of hand and shook it. Y/N looked up at those hazel eyes that she never had the courage to look at.

'Stun the ring, Y/N. I'll be watching.' Drew's voice sounded much huskier though low as his eyes were directly on Y/N's. Y/N felt the Scotsman tighten his grip on her hand for a fraction of seconds before releasing it.

Y/N felt she could hear her own heart beats. She pulled her hand to herself and looked away immediately to avoid acting like a school girl falling in love for the first time.

'Y/N and Dana in 5 minutes.' It was announced again.

'Oh! Let's go Y/N.' Dana nudged rushing over.

Y/N didn't know what to do and rushed behind Dana.

There were three things running in her mind right now:
One, Drew McIntyre just touched her hand. And two, he actually knows her first name and three, he said he was gonna watch her match.

'Oh boy! I have too much to handle in the next 30 minutes.' Y/N thought.

To be continued
in the second shot....
