✈ Chapter One: The Airport

A/N

Hey guys! It's your girl Vanilla Swirl, and welcome to my second book!

Now, I know I said it was going to probably be Zane~Chan but come on guys, Dottie X Blaze is my OTP! And now that it's summer (YAAAS), I finally decided to do this book! I've had this idea for a while, and now I'm following through with it.

Also, off topic but IK VIEWS ON ZANE CAN NYA!! I really don't walk to talk much about that here since this isn't about that story but if you want to know more check the conversations tab on my profile :P

And yes, there will be a lot of airplane emojis in this story. I mean, it's literally about the wrong ticket on an airplane so expect lots of those.

Okay! Let's get this party rolling!

Blaze's P.O.V

"You'll meet us there, right?" I asked my best friends Daniel and Rylan. Daniel gives an energetic nod and Rylan chuckles at his enthusiasm.

"Yeah, of course." Rylan mutters, smiling.

"How's it feel, Blaze?" Daniel asks bubbly. I don't know what he means by that.

"What do you mean?" I respond. Daniel laughs.

"You're going to be all alone with your high school crush~" Daniel teases. Rylan gives both of us an amused look.

"Ooh~ I almost forgot about that!" Rylan agrees, nudging Daniel. He must be happy to find a way to get revenge after I teased him about June. I roll my eyes, smiling along with them. Yes, I did have a crush on Dottie on high school, but that's all it was and all it will ever be.

"Come on guys, I was what, 17? 18? I'm 27 now, come on!" I half-protest since this really isn't that big of a deal. Rylan and Daniel look skeptical, but eventually shrug it off.

"Whaaatever." Rylan mumbles under his breath.

"I wish we could all be on the same plane...." Daniel complains.

"The Lycans were nice enough to buy us plane tickets in general. Plus, you'll be with Rylan! He can buy you a soda." I remind him. Daniel keeps pouting.

"He's right, you know. I will buy you a soda." Rylan says after sighing. Daniel's eyes begin to sparkle with his usual childlike innocence.

"R-really? And a cookie too!?" He asks.

"And a cookie too...." He mutters, knowing his wallet will be completely wasted on food and drinks for Daniel by the end of the trip.

"Yaaay~"

Timeskip to after Blaze drives to the airport

I park my car in a VIP spot, knowing that's where someone who works for the Lycans will get to to drive it back to my place. I gave the Lycans a copy of my car keys, so everything's all set so far. The airport is a huge building, and I've never been to this specific one before. I pull out my phone and text Dottie.

Blaze's Phone:

Blaze: hey

Blaze: just drove here,, am parked. you there?

Dottie: Yeah yeah I see you I see you look outside look outside!!

Blaze's P.O.V

I lean back in the Driver's seat of my car and let my eyes wander around. For about five seconds, I don't see her, but then, I do.

Dottie's right in front of the airport, wearing a short-sleeved shirt that's off on of her shoulders showing a black strap under it, jeans shorts, and flip-flops. It is summer, after all. She has a deep purple suitcase. I wave at her and she bounces up and down, waving at me back. I get out of my red van with my dark red suitcase and speed-walk over to her. Once I'm in front of her, I greet her with a "Hey." and a smile.

"Blaze! I'm so excited." Dottie hugs me and I hug back. It's a really short one, but I'm glad to see her.

"Haha, me too. Uhh, how long until our flight again?" I ask. Dottie groans.

"The Lycans made us come six hours early!" She complains. I groan back.

"That sucks..."

"There's a shopping center though! We could grab a bite to eat." Dottie informs me. I laugh.

"Alright!"

We check in, go through security, all that boring adult stuff, blah blah blah. Once we finish everything, a polite dark-skinned female Meif'wa with half of her head shaved and the other long, black, and curly directs us to the wing where our plane is. It took us about two hours to get through everything, and both Dottie and I let out a sigh of relief the second it's over. My stomach growls.

"Hungry?"

"Yeeahhh..." I admit. Dottie smiles at me. That's one thing I notice about her, she smiles a lot. She's such a sweet girl. And smart, too. I remember back in high school...

Flashback to PDH

Ugh! Why is math so hard! I tap one of my best friends, Dottie on the shoulder and she turns around, twitching a werewolf ear curiously. "Yes?"

"I don't... understand." I mumble. Dottie smiles at me reassuringly and leans over to my desk.

"Okay, so see this factor?"

"Yeah?"

Dottie continues explaining to me, and unlike with the other students explaining it to me, it actually makes sense and I understand.

"So, you just multiply those?"

"And then find the prime factorization, yeah." Dottie nods in approval. I smile at her.

"Thanks!" I thank.

"No problem!"

I chuckle at the memory, remembering how I got a 100 on my next test. Dottie was so proud of me. Have we really been friends for that long? Dottie pulls a pamphlet with a map on it out of a nearby stand.

"So, they have a donut shop, a-"

"Don't!" I pull my hand up to stop her. Dottie looks confused.

"Don't what?"

"Don't! Even finish that sentence we're getting donuts come on let's go." My words rush together so quickly. Dottie snickers.

"Alright, alright~" We head over to the donut shop and eat for about an hour, laughing and talking. Our waiter comes over to us and gives us the check. It's not that big.

"I'll pay." I say. Dottie slaps the check out of my hand and on to the table.

"Nuh-uh. I'm paying." Dottie protests.

"I insist. It's not that big of a-" I cut myself off from burping. I mean, I just ate. "Deal." I cough.

"Wow, you're really winning me over with your chivalry." Dottie jokes.

"Hey!" I yell, slightly offended.

"Let's split it, then." Dottie compromises. I lean back in my chair and cross my arms casually.

"Alright. 50/50." I reply, giving her a small smile at her compromise.

"50/50." She repeats. We both pay our part and find a bench inside the wing. I sit down first and she sits down to the right of me. "Almost three more hours..." Dottie groans. "I can't wait that long!" I scrunch my eyebrows together in thought. A light-bulb turns on in my head and I pull out my fully charged phone.

"Wanna play a game?" I offer. Dottie enthusiastically nods and I can't help but laugh at how even after three hours, she's not a bit tired. I unlock my phone and turn on a game. Dottie gasps when she sees the title.

"Borkbork?" She reads the title aloud. It's a popular little pixel game, especially with werewolves. You play as a small dog and you wander around a little pixel world, defeating enemies. I nod.

"Yeah. Let's take turns. Everytime one of us dies, the other gets to play." Dottie nods in understanding and we go for a while. I'm a bit better at the game at she is, but she tries her hardest to hide her jealousy. Somehow, this keeps us occupied for forty whole minutes. When my phone reaches 19%, I put it back in my pocket and plug in my portable charger into it. Dottie sighs.

"We still have 2 hours and 20 minutes..." Dottie mutters.

"Well, we can just talk. It'll be worth it in the end, I mean, Starlight Wonderland! For the whole summer! Can you believe it?" I sound excited yet a bit exhausted after waiting in the airport for so long.

"I know! So exciting!" Unlike me, Dottie's full of energy as usual.

"Do you thin-" I get cut off by a voice coming from the airport's speakers.

"Flight 504, currently boarding. 504, I repeat, 504." A nice woman's voice tells the airport. Me and Dottie look at each other with wide eyes. That's our flight. But it's not supposed to be here for another 2 hours!

"Run." I whisper, not questioning it. Dottie nods and we both run as fast as we can with our suitcases to the place where our plane is being boarded. As werewolves, we get there relatively early, since we're athletic and all. The line's sort of long, but I know I won't be waiting at line at all in Starlight Wonderland. I give Dottie one more quick smile before we enter the gate. Our suitcases drag behind us, but the plane looks like a luxurious one from the outside. The turbulence is so loud, and our werewolf ears make it even worse for us.

"You ready?" I yell at Dottie over the sound.

"Yeah! Ready for anything!" Dottie fist bumps the air.

Thing is, we aren't ready for what happens next.
