*Peter already told them about the reveal and etc.
Ned

Peter
Yep as soon as I'm done with patrol
MJ
You two are a mess
Peter
That's nothing new
And out the window Peter went suit already on. He was hoping to have a quick look around to make sure everything was peaceful before returning, not wanting to keep Ned waiting for long. How could he have missed that there was a test?
Even though he already knew the answer, it still caused frustration. So yeah he may not have been focusing in class because all he could focus on was the stupid ringing and headaches that came and gone. Sure he wasn't focusing because he may have been secretly on his phone texting away or testing how quickly a small cut would heal. But could you blame him? Peter only got more concerned with the things happening as time went by and there was no sign of it getting better. Maybe he'd ask Mr. Stark about the weapon later?
What did this even mean for him? His healing slowed and the pain from his headaches was relentless. His senses now seemed dull and he began eating less and less with no backlash coming for him. His fast metabolism didn't seem so fast anymore. Why was that?
But for now, he just needed to focus. Focusing seemed to be difficult for him now.
He'd frequently think back to Mr. Fury but he has yet to get any message from him. Peter kept reminding himself that when he was needed he'd be texted. But now along with checking his group chats he'd check if he got any new messages.
Peter had stopped his swinging on top of a building as he heard a gunshot go off. It wasn't too far off from where he stood but he still rushed to the sound.
"One peaceful night is that too much to ask for, huh?" He muttered to himself as he found himself in an empty parking lot.
Confusion took over as he was almost sure he heard the shot from here. Was he hearing things now? He debated for a moment glancing towards the end of the parking lot that just ended where the forest started. And then he glanced towards the broken down buildings in front of him.
"Hello? Are there any bad people doing bad things here? Or good people needing help?" Peter called out as if expecting a response.
He waited in silence before sighing. What could've made the noise? He turned immediately, coming face to face with the end of a gun. It was small but he immediately recognized it as the same one he shot himself with.
His hands flew up as he blurted out "Woah there," looking up to face the enemy. A dark mask covered most of their face and a beanie was tugged on only a loose strand of hair falling in front of their eyes. Their eyes seemed to emit a cold green light.
Besides that, the rest of their features were hidden. Peter could tell they were small but had feminine features. A woman? That was the least of his worries. He knew who they were. And they might have the answers he wanted.
The gun was aggressively jabbed towards Peter who took a step back. "Make one move and I'll shoot," they threatened but panic wasn't heard from their voice. He stared down at the gun deciding he could ask now.
"What does the gun do?" He asked, knowing this wasn't smart. He should take care of the situation and take them to the police. But he also knew that wasn't your average gun and was worried if he did do that he wouldn't get his answers.
"The gun? It's to take care of pests like you," they answered thumb fiddling with the trigger.
"No need to get violent, short stack. How about we just have a civil conversation?" Peter received a harsh glare. Most likely from the nickname.
"Call me short stack one more time and you'll lose a limb. I'm not talking to the likes of you." They snarled. They may be small but they were vicious was all Peter could think.
It happened quickly, almost a blur. The trigger was pulled and the teen in a panic pushed the aim away from him. It didn't hit him but the sound caused him to double over the ringing in his head returning. It felt far yet loud.
A moment later he received a hard kick to the gut from shortie. "That's not very nice," he grunted, his arm now wrapped around his waist and his other hand was held out to where they were.
Which was nowhere. They couldn't just disappear?
Laughter had echoed in his head and Peter turned to the sound immediately having a web aimed in the direction. He missed as they now stood at the edge of the parking lot.
"You know I'm surprised. If an average person got hit by this," they waved the weapon carelessly. "They'd be dead by now. Yet here you are. I'm sure you're in pain though... but still alive nonetheless. How fascinating." Their voice echoed in the empty parking lot while they mused and giggled towards Peter.
His vision was blurred while his headache worsened. He couldn't focus as he threw them a dirty look.
"Aww Pumpkin~ you'll be a fun experiment," they spoke happily before frowning. Then they held out the weapon once more, shifting something against the side. "But sadly, it's not your time yet... Till next time."
A slur left Peter at the shot as he attempted to jump for it. He tumbled the action not helping the new headache at all. The flash that emitted from the weapon was just... too bright for him to handle.
"Focus!" He scolded himself
The boy ran ignoring his body's complaints only to skid to a stop at the start of the forest. He paused in an attempt to hear footsteps or heavy breath or anything at this point. But the only sound that was heard was the stupid ringing.
They were gone. Again.
Did he really just let them get away again? He looked down on the floor. No tracks. They can't just disappear!
Peter shuffled back to where the weapon was fired and noticed the marks it left. That didn't happen last time it was fired. It wasn't the same weapon? What would've happened if it hit him? And what in the world did they mean? A fun experiment? He should've been dead?
With a defeated look the boy decided to head back home. Maybe Ned would know something about this?
(*Line Break*)
As soon as Peter had crawled through the window he fell to the floor curling upon himself. His head rested against his knees as he clutched his hair tightly.
He tried focusing on his breathing but with every small movement, another wave of pain hit him. His head felt like it was about to explode.
Nearly half an hour the poor boy sat whimpering to himself as his headache stayed persistent. There's no way he'd be able to handle a headache like that on a normal basis.
He slowly unraveled himself reaching for his phone as he knew that Ned was waiting on him.
(A/N I do be procrastinating on procrastinating. I still have a lot of homework left. Stay safe children~!)
