Matthew is bold. Chloe is normal. The others are italics.

"She what?"

"She asked me out."

"When?"

"Like a few minutes ago. After I checked up on you guys she texted me and asked me out."

"What did you say?" 

"I said yes." Oh my god. Fuck. I fake a smile.

"That's great Matthew." I try to fake a smile but It probably doesn't look convincing.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, I'm fine. Totally fine."

"Good. So what did you need to tell me?"

"It's nothing. I'm happy for you." I fake another smile.

"Thank you." I look at Melissa and Emma. They are both shocked. I sigh.

"Should we go out and hang out today?"

"Of course."

"Just give me a few minutes to change I don't feel like wearing sweatpants." He nods. I walk away from them and I walk into my room. I close the door.

I take a quick shower and I put my bra and underwear on and then I do my daily bathroom routine. I hear a knock on my door. I hope it's not Matthew or it would be awkward since I'm only in my bra and underwear. "Come in." I hear the door open then close. I walk out of my bathroom and it's Emma. She sits down at the end of my bed. 

"Are you okay Chloe?" I shrug as I walk to my closet. I look for a closet.

"I mean I did just lose Matthew to Vivian." I grab a random shirt and a random pair of jeaned shorts and my converse.

"I'm sorry Chloe." I sigh as I put my outfit on. 

I sit on my bed and I start tying my shoes. "I'm just mad I was too late. I'm mad at myself for thinking I can have Matthew to myself. I'm mad I waited until the last minute to actually consider telling Matthew how I feel. I just feel so stupid." Emma puts her hand on my arm.

"It's okay Chloe. They probably won't last."

"It's not okay. I have had feelings for Matthew for more than a few months. Since he was dating Abigail I thought that if I got my mind off of him by dating Isiah my feelings would go away. But I feel like that made things worse." Emma bites her lips. "I wonder if after Matthew and Abigail broke up and I never met Isiah if we would end up dating then none of this would have happened."

"I feel like he would have asked you out." I shrug. It doesn't matter now

"It's too late now. Let me do my hair and then we can leave." I stand up and I go to my bathroom I brush my hair and then I do a fishtail over shoulder braid. Once I'm done with that I walk out of my bathroom. 

"How about you try and take Matthew away from Vivian." I snort as I shake my head. 

"I can't do that." She frowns.

"Why not? I mean I like Vivian. She's nice and all but I have been shipping you and Matthew for the longest. I would hate to see it not happen just because some random ass girl shows up."

"I don't know Emma. Matthew might get mad and all. I don't want that to happen."

"Who cares. At least he will know how you feel." 

"I don't know."

"Just think about it. But remember you have to fight what's yours." With that, she gives me a soft smile and walks out of my room. I sigh. God, why does life have to be so damn complicated? I grab my purse, phone, and keys. I walk out of my room. 

Matthew quickly stands up and smiles. "Ready?" I nod. Remember you have to fight what's yours. This is going to be a long day.

Matthew's POV

Emma puts the keycard in the door thing. It turns green. She opens the door and we both go in. Turning on the lights. During the whole car ride, she didn't say anything. Chloe was kind of acting weird the whole day. I wonder if it has anything to do with that guy she's dating. Emma takes her shoes off and sits on the bed. 

"So you're dating Vivian now?"

"Yeah."

"I thought you liked Chloe. What happened with the plan you had. About how you were going to tell her?"

"She obviously doesn't like me."

"Why do you say that?"

"She has a boyfriend. She's dating that dude." Emma snorts.

"Why did you say that with so much venom?" She smirks. "You jealous?"

"Of course I am. What kind of question is that? I want her to myself."

"Then why are you dating Vivian if you want Chloe?'

"Because she is dating that guy and since she is I had to get my mind off of her. Its obvious she doesn't like me." Emma facepalms.

"I swear you and Chloe are both blind."

"What's that supposed to mean?" She shakes her head.

"Anyway, she's not dating Isiah anymore."

"Wait. What?!"

"Yeah, they broke up after we came back from the mall that day." 

"Why am I just now finding out about this?" Emma shrugs. 

"So what are you going to do now?" 

"There's nothing I can do."

"What do you mean? The girl you want is single. She has no one that wants her. You already said it you want her. Why don't you just take her?"

"I can't do that?"

"Why the fuck not?" 

"Because I'm dating Vivian. It's too late."

"So what you are saying is that you are going to throw away the girl you have liked for a long time just for some girl that you met like two days ago?"

"I'm not throwing her away. We still going to be friends. And why are you so pissed about this?"

"I'm not pissed. I just expected to see you get the girl you like. I mean I like Vivian but I like Chloe more and you do too."

"What makes you say that?"

"You have your own nickname for her. I see how happy you get when you are near her. Your eyes light up so bright when you hear her laugh. The flirting and the video shows it all."

"What video?"

"When we first got here you helped her wash the dishes and then you started splashing each other. It was the cutest I had to record it. I saw how happy you got. I'm just disappointed that you are throwing it all away."

"For the last time, I'm not throwing Chloe away. It's just I made my decision. 

"Well, it seems like it. But it's whatever you said you made your choice I can't do anything about it." She gets up and grabs her bag. She walks to the bathroom. 

"Why do you care who I end up with?" She looks at me.

"I already told you why. But it's whatever. You made your decision and I can't change that." With that, she closes the door. I plop on the other bed. Ugh. Life is so complicated.
