"What even is this place?" Jayce asked obliviously as he walked further down into the tunnel. His enforcers were trailing behind him, their steps so in synch it made me want to gag

"It's a tunnel"

"You know this is not what I meant"

"Do I look like I care?"

It went on like that for a while, every fucking minute that ticked by more agonizing then the last. I had lost everything, I might as well do the one  thing that I had come here to do

Everybody was silent as they moved around the room. It was almost robotic, as if they didn't quite know what they were doing either

"Do you ever get a break?" My voice was dry, raspy even as I spoke. Whatever that idiothad given me had done a pretty damn good job

She rolled her eyes "Answer this question yourself dumbass. Of course we dont"

I was almost afraid to ask the next question but somehow, I found what little will I had to live inside of me to ask "Then when do you sleep?"

"We don't" She smiled and started arranging the wires on the wall "You will find out in the morning"

My eyes barely widened until I quickly looked away, my heart feeling like it was trying to explode trough my chest. What the hell were they going to do to me? To everyone else in this room?

BOOM

I couldn't even look up from the dizziness that seemed to have taken over my brain. How many times had I experienced this again? Three? Four times? I had lost count by now

Wait...were those enforcers?

I could only watch as they began to point their guns at the workers that surrounded the room, slamming their bodies against the walls with little to no remorse as they did so

Then the alarm blared brightly above my head, making me squint my eyes at the noise. Ouch

You know what the damn thing was? Let me tell you. Silco had me tucked into the shadowy corner and I could barely feel my vocal cords so yelling wasn't really an option right now

The enforcers were breathing heavily as the gasps and yells echoes around the room, bodies falling from the top level like they were nothing more than a walking skeleton

Then some weird purply thingies came and- OH MY GOSH THE GUNS ARE DOING NOTHING?

Excuse me? Who the hell invented this? What the fuck?

I was screwed. Send my regards to Satan

Somebody slid down the metal railing and I craned my neck to try and see as they punched one of the monsters, breaking their shimmer supply

I could only stare in awe as the thing never moved again. But no matter how much I wanted to see who had done this I couldn't quite position myself enough to find out

Who the hell was this grandpa? Nah he's too fancy to be from here. Definitely a topsider

I started working on the chains as much as I could, afraid that the locks would be different than what they would normally use. But, thankfully I didn't find it much of a problem

What I did find a problem was the lack of energy that didn't seem to be able to move trough my body. Damn it

I could only heard the yelling and the sounds of explosion as it spread across the room. Bodies were thrown everywhere and all I could do was watch

I was awaiting the clicking sound of the chains as I bit my lip in concentration. Come on, please work. I can't die here. I haven't even burned down a kitchen yet

Why did the screams seem so familiar tho?

Then it clicked. I closed my eyes in gratitude as I quickly removed the chains from around my wrists and threw them away as far as I could. Ignoring the swollen wrists I stumbled forward as I tried to walk, using my hand into the wall as support. But like how gravity worked I was quick to fall on to the ground. I scrunched up my face at the pain it send trough my head as I barely opened my eyes to see what was happening

My heart stopped for a second. Was I dreaming?

"Vi!" I yelled, somehow having the willpower to summon my voice. She turned around just before one of the monsters could get her

We locked eyes for a slip moment before she had to return to her battle. I closed my eyes as the world started to slip once more and rolled over to my back. I could faintly hear her footsteps as she approached my laying body

"Sunshine?"

I smiled up at her as she kneeled down beside me, one had cupping my left cheek. I leaned into her touch and put my hand over hers as I chuckled "My knife in shining armour"

"Why the hell are you here?" She looked concerned as her eyes darted between mine

"Guess" I smirked before her face went completely still

"Silco" she mumbled lowly and I nodded

"The one and only"

She was silent for a moment, her eyes going over my body, sending a shiver that was way out of place in the moment "Did he hurt you?"

"Nah, he just ingected me with something. I'm quite dizzy tight now so I'm just gonna take a nap. Byeee" I closed my eyes before I felt her shake my shoulders rapidly

"Don't you dare fall asleep Y/n or I might as well just punch you in the face"

"My pleasure pinky"

"Vi!" Jayce yelled in the distance as he tried to hit another monster in the face "I would appreciate some help!"

She turned to look back at me and winked "Be back in a bit sunshine" I expected her to just leave like she always did, but instead I felt her lips press softly against forehead. She lingered there for a couple of seconds more than it was nessesary before she stood up and went on a murder spree with a face angrier than I could ever remember her seeing

"I can't believe Silco did this" She mumbled as she let me rest on the bed in my apartment. The bed wasn't anything fancy, just an old mattress and a cover

It wasn't even an apartment, it was an empty, broken room that I had found three years ago. It was in one of the buildings near the edge of the city and I was pretty happy with it

"I can" I cracked my neck, surveying the demage this place had taken. In my short absence one of the paintings I had stolen had slipped off its hanger and knocked over one of the glasses on the floor. Now it layed there in broken pieces as it wondered what it had done wrong with its life

"Are you feeling better sunshine?" She looked at me, tilting her body so she can sit down on the covers next to me and I nodded. Her knee brushed against mine and I smiled slightly. It was nice having her back

"Great actually. That old hag couldn't do shit"I laughed and watched as Vi shook her head, her smile growing into a grin

"Like murdering a whole town. Nothing fancy" I smirked at my own words as I started to laugh. Was it the exhaustion that I wasn't currently feeling or was it the fact that my brain had taken one too many punches?

...Actually, don't answer that

Plus the exercise it had taken us to get here had proven to work wonders for my body. It sped up the burning process and even tho it made my blood feel like it was melting at least I wasn't feeling so light headed anymore

I felt great actually. See, I'm sure half of Silco's plan was that I wouldn't be able to move so my body will not be able to burn the serum faster. Jokes on you Silco

"Gosh I missed you"

"Hey I had been away for what? Three hours? Count yourself lucky pinky" I smirked and tried to pinch her cheek but instead she grabbed my hand and pinned my arm onto the bed, her head towering over mine as I struggled to breath properly

She narrowed her eyes, the little smirk of hers still there "Four hours and 23 minutes actually" she mumbled

"Sheesh you had counted them? Damn and I though I was bad" I grinned as I started laughing and received another shake of the head instead

"Are you gonna keep shaking your head all night? Do you have an iron deficiency or something?"

"See sunshine this is where you are wrong"

I raised an eyebrow "Oh? Enlighten me then, oh wise one"

Her gaze slowly trailed down my body and my grin started to slip. I watched her eyes until they found themselves staring right back at mine, her thumb slowly playing in circles on my thigh "It's a you deficiency"

I snored as I tried to hide a blush "Cheesy bastard"

After a couple of minutes I found myself laying onto the bed with my hands hugging my knees, one hand carelessly put over Vi's stomach as I stared at the ceiling

"I'm sorry I left" I mumbled and went to lean over to my side. I could see her frown before she did the same, her hand placed on the mattress for support

"What do you mean?" She looked into my eyes, her gaze soft and...vulnerable. Her body was relaxed for once and I couldn't tell you how glad I was for that

"You know how I wanted to sort out my feelings and all?" I waited for confirmation from pinky until Vi nodded slowly "Well, I kind of found out that I had, in fact, figured them out a long time ago. Actually, it was way back when I first layed my eyes on you"

Vi smiled and leaned forward towards me. I could feel her breath tingling against my skin, her eyes glancing between my lips for just a split second. I might have as well have just imagined it "Now you are the cheesy one"

I rolled my eyes "Anyways" I emphasized and narrowed my eyes at Vi who pretended like she was the most innocent person in the world "I found out that I..."

I swallowed, my throat suddenly dry as I tried to grasp at the next sentence that I was about to say. Wait what was I supposed to say again? I could practically melt as her finger trailed down my spine. We were so close it was hard for me to think. Like hello how I'm I supposed to think?

And Vi seemed to know that. She seemed to know how she made my body melt and my head to feel dizzy with adrenalin "That you like me?" She finished and I nodded slowly

"Yeah" My voice came out softly as I struggled to get my heart to slow down. I found myself looking down at her lips once more, the same ones I had fantasised about so often

She did the same and leaned just a bit forward, one hand gently placing on top of my cheek as she looked up into my eyes "Can I?"

Heart. Stop. Beating!

Instead of answering I closed the distance between us and finally, after all those years of being separated I was finally able to kiss her

And it was the best thing that had happened in my life
