The next day was rough. I had a massive hangover; I knew alcohol and being a wolf didn't mix well, just like sunlight and a throbbing headache didn't.
The only good part about waking up is that I rolled over to find Hamish beside me. He was already awake and was looking at me. I gave him a soft smile as I moved my hair out of my face.
"Good morning," I greeted. Hamish gave me a smile as he planted a kiss on my lips. "Morning beautiful," He responded, voice husky with sleep.
As much as I wanted to stay in bed, I had to get up and get ready for the day. When I tried to get up, Hamish just grabbed me from behind and dragged me back down against him.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked against my neck. I gave him a laugh. "To go get ready, just like you should be doing,"
"The day could wait twenty more minutes," He grumbled. "Maybe less if we're quick," He offered suggestively.
Oh man, did that sound good. I gave him a sly smile; this gave him enough information to understand what I was silently telling him.
He bit my neck teasingly as he rolled himself over on top of me, and looked down at me with a slight hunger in his gaze. I looked back, studying his face, so glad that I was with him.
"You're so beautiful... You know that?" Hamish said softly, tracing his fingers from the side of my face, and down my body, eyes never leaving mine as he searched my gaze.
"You are, too..." I murmured to him gently, raking my fingers lightly through his hair, that earned me a soft growl from him. And he was; he was so perfect for me. Yes, he has his faults, but that's the beauty of it. He has beautiful faults that I couldn't imagine not seeing.
People say that when you find someone, nothing else matters, and youre heart beats slowly, and you just feel at home. This morening couldn't have been more perfect, and all the mornings before, and after.
"I love you so much, Hamish." I said softly, and kissed him gently, I kissed him like it was the first time. Kissed him like I never had before, and I made sure that he knew how much I loved him.
I wanted him to know that he isn't what he thinks, that it's okay to let yourself fall.
I learned that nothing, absolutely nothing, can get in between us. Not life, not a money driven human, nothing.
We are written in the stars, and nothing can change that.

Little did we know, that night when we were out, Jack had managed to find the Den on his own. We assumed he had wandered here—for whatever reason—and had found himself downstairs in the Reliquary and Hide Locker room.
How did we know this? For one, Silverbacks locker was tipped over when I went in there to find something.
"Hey, uh, guys!" I shouted shortly after walking in there. "You gotta come see this!"
Hamish first appeared in the room, walking down the steps. "What is i- oh," Hamish said as he saw the hide locker tipped. "Damn it," He cursed. Randall and Lilith both came in, looking around until their eyes saw the box. "Shit," Lilith muttered as Randall said, "Dude, it stinks like Jack,"
I gave a nod. We all know what this means.
The spirit of Silverback chose Jack as his Champion.
"What do we do now?" I asked, looking at the other three werewolves. "Well," Hamish said, crossing his arms over his chest and looking at the box. "We wait for Silverback to come home,"
"You mean that Jack will be dead?" I asked, shocked that Hamish will even say that. "No, I meant it as in literally. Silverback will bring himself and his Champion back here," Hamish clarified. I released my breath that I hadn't realized I was holding. "Okay, and how long will that take?"
"Might be all night, so might as well get some sleep for now," Lilith said, walking out of the room. Randall followed soon after as I bent down and picked the heavy box up and put it in its rightful place. Hamish waited for me by the doorway and we both headed off to his room upstairs.
When we got there, Hamish closed the door as I dug through his clothes that were here and found a long-sleeved button up shirt to sleep in. Hamish had his own designated sleeping clothes, and offered me some sweats and a shirt. I declined them, being good with what I had. Shrugging, Hamish started to undress first, and I soon followed suit. I didn't button the buttons as I crawled in the bed, too tired to even do anything else.
Hamish was soon in bed, taking the covers and covering us both up as he pulled me back-first to his chest. "Goodnight," He murmured in my ear. "I love you,"
I gave a smile I knew he couldn't see, and whispered back, "Goodnight, I love you, too," and closed my eyes.
It only felt like I blinked, though, because before I knew it, the light was coming in through the window and we heard noises from down stairs. I got up to find Hamish already up and getting dressed. I got up too, discarding the long-sleeve I was wearing and put on one Hamish tossed to me; it was dark blue with little white dots. I put on my pants I wore yesterday and tucked the shirt inside them and smoothed it out. I put on my converse and made my way with Hamish downstairs to see that Randall and Lilith already there.
I saw that Jack was all dirty and had blood on him; he was lying naked on the floor with a silk black robe over his hips and thighs. Randall had found him earlier this morning and brought him back here. "He ate a deer last night," He informed us. "So, this should be interesting."
We all crowded around Jack when he started to move, looking down at him as Randall was snapping his fingers, saying, "Wake up," with each snap. Jack moved his head to the left as his hand came up and rubbed his forehead like he had a headache. We all stepped back as he began to lift his head, eyes still closed.
Our line up went Randall, Hamish, me, and Lilith.
When Jack finally opened his eyes, he was looking around at us and the place he was at. "Where am I?" He asked, trying to register where he was. Then his eyes flickered down. "Why am I naked? Where are my clothes?" He asked, shocked that all he had was a robe on him.
Randall looked to his right and picked up Jacks clothes. "Oh, they got ruined when you ripped out of them," Randall said, kneeling as he handed the clothes—and his phone—to Jack. Jack grabbed them as Randall said, "You'll get used to it,"
Jack looked skeptical and confused at Randall. "Used to what?" Then looking up at us, he asked, "Who are you people?"
"Dude, it's me Randall, I'm your RA," Randall said, his words coming out like he was talking to a three-year-old. Jack looked back at Randall, using the same tone of voice and said, "I know that, I meant them," He said, picking up his cell phone and using it to point at us.
Randall looked over, getting up and point at each of us. "Oh, this is Hamish, Mazikeen, and Lilith," Randall said, then looked back at Jack after introducing us. "And together we are-" he was looking at us. "-the Knights of St Christopher- guys I thought we were gonna say that together," He added disappointedly. Hamish slightly shook his head at Randall and Lilith looked at him like 'what the fuck'. I gave him a shrug.
Jack was getting up, making sure that the robe didn't fall as he wound it around his waist. "And that's what? The improve troop?" He asked.
Hamish stepped forward, hands at his hips. "We are a sacred brother hood a-" Lilith cut him off. "Gender neutral collective," She said as I gave Hamish a look. He brushed it off as we ruined his epic introduction.
"-Anointed to fight dark magic with the power of-" Hamish was cut off again, this time by Randall. "Dude, we're werewolves," Randall said excitedly.
I rubbed Hamish's back as he dropped his hand against himself in defeat. "And now, so are you," Hamish finished, looking at Jack.
Jack was looking at us with a blank face for a minute, then he gave a smile and started to laugh, gesturing at Randall.
Randall joined in, laughing nervously as Hamish smiled and looked at me, then at Lilith. "Oh, I get it. Townie wanted to join a secret society and the-" he stopped mid-sentence; a look only reserved for people who were about to vomit crossed his face.
Jack leaned over to his right and vomited on the floor. It was red and very disgusting. "Yeah," Randall said. "You ate a deer last night,"
Jack looked up from his hunched over position, then at the mess he made. "This isn't happening," He said, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He slowly straightened his back, looking at all of us. "This is not happening,"
"Oh it's happening," Hamish said. "The spirit of Silverback chose you as his Champion. He bound to you and you transformed,"
"Transformed into what?" Jack asked, disbelieving in his tone of voice. "A werewolf," Randall said, walking over. "Dude, try to keep up, I told them you were smart," He said quieter, clapping him on the shoulder.
"Silverback's been dormant for fifty years and he chooses this dumbass?" Lilith said, looking between me, Hamish and Randall while nodding her head in Jack's direction. Hamish gave her a smile and a nod. I rolled my eyes with a smile.
Good to know I wasn't the only one who is getting this treatment, I thought.
"Jack's the real deal, every time I got close to that Golem, he was there," Randall said, causing Hamish to look at him sternly, a look saying 'you still went out and followed it?'
Jack looked at Randall at the information. "Wait, you saw me fight Clay but didn't help me?" He asked, then smacked his arm lightly in an expression of shock and pointed at him. "You were that thing in the graveyard!" Then in a quieter voice, he said, "You almost killed me,"
Randall stuck out his right hand for Jack to shake, smiling. "Welcome to the club,"
Jack shook his head. "No, I'm not going to be a- a werewolf," Jack said as Randall walked away from him with his hands up in a surrendering position.
"Too late, you already are," Hamish said, crossing his arms. "Look, it wasn't a- a full moon last night," Jack pointed out.
"Not a thing," I said, Hamish looking over at me as I said that.
"What about silver bullets?" Jack asked, leaning towards me for emphasis. "Uh, duh, cause it's a bullet?" Lilith replied, making Jack look at her. Then he looked between all of us.
"Then take it back! Un-werewolf me," Jack exclaimed.
"I think it's a bit too late for that," I remarked, causing Jack to look at me again. He squinted as he did, then his eyes lit up with recognition. "You're the girl from the food truck!" He exclaimed. I gave him a nod, then looked at Randall. "He's a bit slow,"
Lilith nodded in agreement as Randall gave a sigh.
"Well, we can't just have him running around, I say we do kill him," Lilith remarked, looking at us. "No, no one is killing anyone," I piped up, looking at her. "I have to go with Randall. Maybe he'll prove useful for us." Randall was nodding along and took his eyes off of Jack, who was sifting through his things and getting up.
Hamish was silently listening, and generating his own thoughts.
before anything, Jack was already out the door with words tossing over his shoulders about not believing this. I gave a sigh, just as Lilith exclaimed, "Hey, thats my robe!"
"Come on, Hamish, we have to go to class," I said. "He'll come around. I know it," I murmured more softly as I take his hand and we all separate to go to our classes or to go do what we all needed to do.
