Yaseen Hamidi had always loved Dina Farooqi. He had loved her even before he knew what the word meant. It was itched on his skin by now, but he could never find it in himself to say it out loud.
No, he wasn't scared of rejection. No, he wasn't afraid that he'll have to pick up the broken pieces of his heart if she denied his love.
What actually turned his bones to metal and blood to ice was the mere thought that he would ruin everything they had built over the years. Their friendship; if that is what it could be called.
He also knew Dina Farooqi deserved someone so much better than a nobody like him.
And he wanted what was absolutely best for her even if that meant that he had to sacrifice his love for her. He would.
And so he had done. He had let her go. Let had her get engaged to Zeeshan Abdullah. But as it turned out it was an awfully terrible decision.
Only Yaseen knew how he had kept a stone on his heart seeing his Dins' hand in that scrawny ophthalmologist's.
But, the douche bag had skillfully decided to screw up. Zeeshan Abdullah was already married. His first wife had contacted Arsalan Lala; Dina's elder brother, a day before the nikkah and informed him of Zeeshan's deeds.
Apparently, Zeeshan's family was forcing him to marry a second time because his first wife was infertile and couldn't bear him a child.
As soon as this information was disclosed the wedding was called off and a FIR fraud complaint was filed against Zeeshan's family.
What Dina didn't know was that the nikkah was already called off and had therefore planned to runaway, of course Yaseen did not dare say otherwise.
Now what scared him shit-less was that their was another mendak in line to steal his wife away. Meezan Zardari.
Yaseen was sure as hell that he wouldn't let it happen. Even if he had to wack Meezan out into oblivion he would. But, Dina Farooqi was his and only his.
"Yaseen Bhai! Kahan mar gaye hai aap?" An annoying voice screeched causing Yaseen to jerk up in surprise.
(Where have you died?)
"Yaar Shehry, ek to ye tumhaari manhoos behen hai. Jab se aaya hoon tab se meri jaan ke peeche padi hai. Isne to mujhe kaam dekar hi maar dena hai." Yaseen sighed as he got up from the bed, frowning at his bestfriend who was humming a random tune looking at the mirror as a smile danced at his lips.
(This sister of yours. Since I have come she is after my life. She is going to kill me after giving so many chores)
"Ohh khwaabon ki shehzaadi. Zameen par utar. Aur chaar ghante hai tere nikkah ke liye." Yaseen huffed as he smacked Shehryar's head causing him to glare.
(Princess of dreams. Come back to earth. There are four more hours left for your nikkah.)
"Beghairat aadmi! You spoiled my hair. It took me a solid hour to get it right!" Shehryar shrieked as he pushed Yaseen away.
"Aur kitna sajna hai? Dulhan Aylah hai. Tu nahi." Yaseen sneered, as he took his phone out.
(How much will you get ready? Aylah is the bride. Not you)
Shehryar shot him a stinky glare.
"Yaseen apna chehra yahan se dafa karle warna maine apni joote se tera thopda laal kar dena hai."
(Take your face away from here otherwise I am go make it red with my shoe)
"Agar Gucci ka joota hai to karde , meri ijazat hai." Yaseen smirked as he moved towards the door. "Par tu to gareeb thehra, mere haseen chehre ko laal karne ki opportunity tujh jaise mohtaaj bande ko nahi milegi."
(If it's Gucci's shoe than do it, you have my permission.) (But, you are poor, a man like you does not deserve the opportunity to make my face red.)
Shehryar's loud curses echoed soon after but, Yaseen was already fleeing away after banging the door.
Grinning widely he was walking towards the lawn when he heard an all together familiar voice screeching for him.
"Yaseen Bhai! Aakhri baar bula rahi hoon. Agar aap nahi aaye to maine aapka mango milkshake kachre mein phenk dena hai."
(I am calling you for the last time. If you don't come then I put your mango milkshake in the garbage)
Yaseen scowled clutching his fists together. Nobody messed with his mango milkshake. Yaseen loved mango milkshake like it was oxygen. And the thought of it in the horrid dustbin send imaginary cockroaches down his spine.
Marching towards where the dharti ka bhoj; Noor Zardari stood, Yaseen yelled.
"Jallad aurat. Don't you dare touch my mango milkshake. I will twist all your fingers and leave a flock of eagles on your damned self."
Noor remained unfazed at she looked at him straight in the eye.
"Mere bathroom ki lights kaam nahi kar rahi hai." She said causally, causing Yaseen to look at her in confusion.
(The lights in my bathroom are not working)
"Toh? Isme mein kya karun?"
(So? What am I supposed to do?)
"Zaahir hai yaar! You obviously don't know how to fix it because you are useless. But, the electrician is there in my room with Dina. Jaakar nazar rakhein. Mujhe thoda kaam hai. Dina akeli hai wahan par." Noor said, flipping the tassle on her dupatta as she walked away.
(It's obvious) (Go and keep an eye, I have some work and Dina is alone there)
Yaseen mouth formed into an 'o' shape as he understood what Noor was implying at.
"Noorie!" He called out before she could leave.
"Haan Bhai."
"Why are you informing me this? I mean thank you but---" Yaseen began but she cut him off.
"Mujhe dikhi hai aapki shadeed beghairat nazrein jo Dina ko dete hai. Itna obvious na karein. Waise hi pahaadi bandar dikhte hai. Dina jaisi ladki aapko ghaas daalti hai yahi bohot hai."
(I have seen the shameless gazes you cast Dina's way. Don't make it so obvious. Already you look like a mountainous monkey, a girl like Dina gives you attention is itself an achievement in itself)
•••
Dina was braiding her hair into a beautiful intricate design when Yaseen entered the room. Her eyes snapped towards him in a moment as her mouth dropped open.
He stood behind her in a black pathani that hugged his frame snuggly, the sleeves were folded neatly until his forearm and an off-white pashtuni shawl hung around his neck.
His ocean blue eyes bore directly into her soul as an adorable smile played at his lips. He looked divine.
"What are you doing here?" Dina managed to spit out as she felt heat crawling under her skin. Why was she even blushing so much around him?
"Kyu? Were you expecting someone else?" Yaseen frowned as he made his way towards her.
"Ab maine aise to nahi kaha." Dina said frowning back as she turned her head to the other side, continuing to braid her hair.
(Now I didn't say that.)
"Jab main baat kar raha hoon to mujhe dekho. Tumhe pata hai na mujhe bilkul acche nahi lagte wo log jo mujhse nazar milakar nahi baat karte." Yaseen whispered as he leaned down towards her ear, pushing her hands away from her hair.
(When I am talking look at me. You know right, I don't like people who don't look at me while I am talking.)
Dina shuddered when she felt his hot breath fanning behind her ear, goosebumps ran through her body as she tried to calm her breathing.
"A-Ab sab aapki pasand se nahi ho sakta na."Dina smirked slowly, stuttering in the beginning because of their proximity.
(Now everything cannot happen according to your liking right?)
Yaseen's lips twitched in humor as he turned her around to face him.
"Is it so?" He smiled mischievously as he kneeled down in front of her.
Dina nodded her head innocently as she bit the inside of her cheek.
Suddenly Yaseen's eyes went to Dina's wrists causing a distasteful frown to take over his face.
"Tumhara bracelet kahan hai?"
(Where is your bracelet?)
It was a very special gift to Dina. She never removed it. It was a bracelet that her Baba had gifted to her when she was born. She didn't remember seeing her father because he had passed away when she was just mere ten months old. But, for as long as Yaseen could remember he had never seen her without the bracelet. It was like a part of her body.
"Huh?" Dina asked confused but soon grasped what Yaseen was asking.
"Mein Meezan se takra gayi thi aur unke cufflinks mein attak gaya tha. I then realised ke saare functions mein wo kabhi bhi gir sakta hai ya toot sakta hai, to maine andar rakh diya"
(I collided with Meezan Bhai and it got stuck in his cufflinks so I realised that it can get lost or break anytime so I kept it inside)
Hearing Meezan's name from Dina's mouth sent Yaseen haywire as the scene from yesterday played in his head.
"Usse bhai bulaya karo." He demanded gritting his teeth.
(Call him brother.)
Dina frowned seeing the sudden change in his demeanor, but nodded nevertheless not telling him that Meezan had himself said that she should not call him brother.
"Aap kya bus interrogation karne aaye hai yahan?" Dina questioned, once again going back to tying her braid.
(Are you here only for interrogation?)
"Tch tch nahi karo." He said pushing her hand away from her hair once again.
(Don't do that)
"Kya musibat hai aap-" Dina began annoyed but Yaseen cut her off as he leaned towards her tucking a lone strand of hair behind her ear.
"Tum khule baalon mein haseen lagti ho."
(What is your prob-) (You look beautiful with open hair)
Dina turned beet red not even seconds later as she bowed her head looking at her hands.
"Aye haye, meri biwi sharmaati bhi hai. Mujhe laga tha bus jahilon ki tarah chillati hai." Yaseen whistled as he poked her red cheeks.
(My wife gets shy also? I thought she only knows how to scream like an idiot.)
Dina lifted her head, her cheeks still blazing as she slapped his chest all the while glaring daggers at him.
"Aap se bada fazool insaan zindagi mein kabhi banega." Dina huffed as she got up ready to leave.
But, Yaseen grabbed her wrist and quickly planted his warm lips on her knuckles. Dina let out a suprised gasp as her shuddering gaze met his steady one.
"Accha maaf kardo, janam. I'll not call you names from now on." He said, smiling softly at her as he pulled her towards him.
"K-kya?" Dina whispered, still dazed from the kiss he had placed on her skin. The endearment he had called her slipping away into the background.
"Abhi to poori tarah kuch kiya bhi nahi hai. Abhi se ye haal hai to, tum hara kya hona hai Dina Yaseen Hamidi." He said, mischief twinkling in his orbs.
(I haven't even done anything yet, now itself you are so flustered. What are you going to do in the future?)
"W-what has happened to you? Esi gandi baatein kyu kar rahe hai?" Dina muttered trying to pry away from his grip as she looked everywhere but at him.
(Why are you talking like this?)
Suddenly, Yaseen jerked her body towards his causing her to fall on his chest. His musky cologne engulfing her senses.
Her fists clenched the front of his kurta tightly as she breathed heavily, closing her eyes shut. Dina felt his minty breath near her ear.
"Gandi baatein karna maine abhi shuru bhi nahi ki. Jab karoonga to saansein laina bhool jaogi, meri jaan." Yaseen whispered huskily, biting at her earlobe softly. Dina's hands on his kurta tightened as she felt her heart thudding violently. At one point Dina feared he might hear it and comprehend the effect he had on her body.
(I haven't even started talking dirty, when I do start then you'll forget how to breath, my love)
"Y-yaseen" Dina whispered every so slowly sucking in a breath.
Yaseen sighed loudly as he grazed his nose against her cheek inhaling the sweet lavender fragrance.
Suddenly like perfervid man, he placed his cold lips against her burning skin. His lips kissed her cheek as his hand cradled her other cheek. He kissed her ever so softly, like she would break into an illusion if he made the wrong move.
A heaved gasp escaped her mouth and Dina forget to breath in that moment.
“ na aapko hosh rahe, na humko hosh rahe. dua hai ki khuda ki ibadat jaisa ishq hojaye ”

Walking through the corridors of the Zardari Haveli, Dina bathed in the nervousness of intimacy she had shared with Yaseen not even a hour ago.
Was it possible to be so flustered with just a kiss on the cheek? Yes, if the lips that kissed the cheek belonged to Yaseen Hamidi, concluded Dina.
She didn't know what had gotten inside of Yaseen, but she liked it. She liked it a lot. And if this was what married life was going to be then, surprisingly enough Dina didn't mind one bit.
Dina was dragged out of her thoughts when a voice called her from behind.
She turned around to find it was Meezan.
"Jee?"
"A-actually, these are for you." Meezan fumbled as he forwarded a pair of beautiful gajrey towards her.
"Haye Allah, kitne pyaare hai. Thank you." She beamed as she took it from his hands.
(They are beautiful)
"Noor ne aapko, deno ko kaha tha." Meezan whispered, as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck.
(Noor told me give them to you.)
"Shukriya Meezan." Dina smiled softly, causing the boy to nod meekly as his ears turned slightly pink.
"Nikkah shuru hone waala hai. Hume chalna chahiye." Meezan said, turning around to leave to the lawn where the whole ordeal was going to take place.
(The wedding is going to start, we should leave.)
"Aap meri thodi madad kar denge. Ye gajra mere haath me nahi jaa raha hai." Called Dina, before Meezan could walk away.
(Will you please help me? I am not able to put these in my hand)
"Jee?"
Dina smiled nervously as she waved her hand in the air with the gajra hanging at its tip.
Wordlessly, Meezan walked back towards her, as he helped her with the flower bracelet.
All the while making sure he didn't touch her.
Dina beamed again as she twirled her hands seeing the gajrey bounce around.
"Aap itne sharmeele hai yaar. Ladki to main hoon. Dobara shukriya, Meezan."
(You are so shy, I am the girl here. Thank you again, Meezan.)
Meezan cracked a small smile as he walked beside her to the lawn.
"Bus izzat karta hoon aapki bohot."
(I respect you alot, that it.)
"Hayee, bus meri? Baaki sab ladkiyon ki nahi karte? " Dina teased him, as she nudged him lightly on the shoulder.
(Only mine? You don't respect other girls?)
Meezan stared at her wide eyed almost scandalized at what she had just uttered.
"Astagfirullah, aap gal-" he began his explain but Dina cut him of chuckling.
"Chill karo. I was just kidding."
Meezan sighed softly as his shoulders sagged.
"Aap heart attack dene waali thi mujhe."
(You were going to give me a heart attack)
"Arrey inta nazook to nahi hoga aapka dil" Dina smiled as she draped her dupatta over her head. They had reached the lawn and the nikkah had already started.
(Your heart surely isn't that weak)
Meezan and Dina stood against the entrance of the lawn as they eyed, the nikkah ceremony. The place was packed.
Shehryar and Aylah were looking beautiful as they sat adjacent to each other. Both of them were saying their qubool hai's, as a net divider seperated them.
"Kitna khubsoorat hai na ye sab." Dina whipered, implying towards the decorations.
(It's beautiful isn't it?)
But, Meezan's gaze snapped to her face as he whispered softly.
"Bohot"
(Very)
Meezan Zardari seemed to have found out that he actually indeed had a very nazook heart. And Dina Farooqi unknowingly had already gotten hold of his nazook heart in her palm.
"You know you always remind me of a younger version of Henry Cavill. That was my first thought when I saw you." Dina said chuckling turning her face towards Meezan, who instantly removed his gaze away from her face.
"Who's that?" He questioned nervously as he brushed his raven hair back.
"Arrey! You don't know who Henry Cavill is? Kaunsi duniya ke hai aap?" Dina looked at his mildly shocked and amused at the same time.
Meezan shrugged as he folded his arms on his chest leaning against a pillar.
"Superman to pata hai na? Or do you belong to some remote planet that I've never heard of."
Meezan nodded his head in absolute seriousness.
"Wohi hai Henry Cavill." Dina said chuckling causing him to shake his head at her.
•••
Yaseen had been searching for Dina since forever, the nikkah ceremony had begun but she was still nowhere to be found.
Had he crossed a line by kissing her? But, she didn't push him away.
Suddenly as his eyes scanned the crowd he remembered, Meezan was missing too. Was she actually with him?
And his fears had come to life, she absolutely was with him. Laughing and chatting away like nobody existed in this world apart from them.
Rage coursed through Yaseen's veins like a starved devil. He clenched his fists tight turning his knuckles white. Was Dina never destined to be his? Was he that bad?
Out of nowhere, suddenly a arm grabbed him away into a shadowed corner. Yaseen was beyond puzzled and at the same time a strong urge to punch himself or anyone for the matter of fact rushed through him.
And so he did. He gave into the urge and punched the person who was dragging him away. He didn't even glance at who the person was.
Only when the person cried out in pain did Yaseen actually see their face.
Yaseen screeched apologetically as he placed his hands on each of his cheeks.
"Momin Bhai?! Maaf kardo."

Helloo, mere pyare doughnuts!
Did you enjoy the chapter?
Yaseen to Meezan, when he sees him talking to Dina
As many of you had pointed out in the previous chapter, Yaseen hasn't actually confessed his love for Dina, lol. And I highly doubt he will do it any sooner. But, I wanted to give you a look inside Yaseen's head and hopefully you got it!
The story is actually coming to an end. I think another two or three chapters and we'll be done.
What do you think is going to happen next?
Also, another quick question are you team meezan or team yaseen?
Your response to this might actually heavily influence the storyline, lmao.
Anyways, thank you so much to all those readers who went back and voted on the previous chapters. I really appreciate ya'll.
Alright, do leave your precious feedback!
Stay safe, Byee
