...1 month later...

Khushi put the glass filled with warm milk on the table beside the bed along with milk bottle for baby and then looked at Arnav who had chandhni in one arm and a photo album opened in other arm, he was showing her pics of yash and his college days and also telling her the mischiefs they used to do.

Khushi smiled at the scene presented, Chandhni was more interested in his left ear than the pictures and kept trying to pull it.

Khushi pushed one of the photo album away and sat on bed and said,''Arnav ji, it's time for baby to sleep. ''

Arnav stopped a whimper of pain as chandhni managed to grab his ear and pulled it. Khushi quickly got up and tried to move chandhni away but Arnav said,''Khushi, I am okay.''

Khushi quietly pulled Chandhni's finger away and took her from Arnav's lap. Chandhni did not wail and leaned into her,after one week of practically living in the arms of Khushi, she was beginning to recognize her. Khushi kissed her on forehead. ''Time for some milk''.

Arnav handed her milk bottle and Khushi started to feed her. Chandhni drank her milk while drumming her  fingers on the bottle. Her big eyes were glued to ceiling fan and she looked deep in thought. Khushi smiled fondly at her and said,''Arnav ji, she is lost in thoughts again, god know what she keeps thinking.''

Arnav leaned back and smiled at the beautiful scene in front of him,'' No idea but she only does that when she is with you or Advay .''

Khushi laughed.

Then, suddenly a thought popped in khushi's head and she became serious,'' Did yash's family called?or Elizabeth's family?''

Arnav became serious too and said,'' No. But I have applied for legal guardianship of Chandhani. There are some complication but my legal team have assured me that we will get her custody.''

Khushi asked worried,'' complications?''

Arnav put his head against the bed head board and said,''Chandhani was born in England. She is a British citizen. Things are different there. In fact, we might have to give her back to embassy before any final decision is made by the court but as her father was an Indian, and I have a very good reputation as a professor, as a  responsible member of society, also I am rich and I have got family. So, it should be alright.''

Khushi looked at the little baby who had won the hearts of all of her family and hers in a matter of hours.

She had started to think of her as her own baby. Chandhni was done drinking milk and was now looking at ear rings in Khushi's ear. 

Khushi smiled and said,''Arnav ji, I think after she gets a little older we will have to get her ear pierced. She is fascinated by ear rings. I think she will like jalebies too''

Arnav smiled knowing this was her way of saying that she wanted the baby to stay here and said,'' I think she will like eating them.''

Both husband and wife looked at each other and a silent message was passed between them, one was giving assurance and other was accepting it.

Khushi gently put Chandhni against her shoulder and started singing lullaby.

...5 months later...

Advay was woken by the muted cries of a baby. Tiny was crying again. He dragged himself out of the bed and looked at time, it was 6 p.m. He had come home tired from college and taken a shower and simply gone to bed. He pulled on a shirt and jeans and went outside. Rani was carrying tiny and trying to stop her wailing. 

He took Chandhni from her and asked,''Where is mom?''

Rani,''she went to market''.

He nodded and asked her to bring milk for tiny and took chandhni to the terrace, and sat down on the swing chair. She was still crying. He pushed the swing with his feet and tapped her on back. Tiny's cries slowed a little and she looked up at him. 

Advay smiled at her and said,''what happened to my little tiny? hmm why was she crying?''

Tiny made little sounds. 

Advay,''I know mum shouldn't have left you home.'' 

Tiny again made some angry sounds.

Advay,''Don't worry, I am here. Me and my tiny, we don't need anyone else.''

Rani came with the milk bottle and gave it to Advay. He told her to inform him when mom came back.

Advay,''Okay, tiny time for some milk.'' He tried to feed her but she was in no mood and kept pushing the bottle away with her little fists and then let out an angry wail.

Advay,''Okay baba. I got it, you are not in the mood for milk. ''

He capped the bottle and put it on ground and resumed swinging the chair.

Tiny settled against him and started playing with the logo on his shirt. 

Advay,'' So, tiny you are  now 8 month old, shouldn't you start speaking ??.''

Tiny kept playing with logo.

Advay,''Tiny ,you sure know how to avoid question which you don't want to answer. So, are you in mood for a little walking practice?'' She could already crawl and stand for a couple of minutes but that was it. 

Tiny again ignored him.

 Advay smiled at the little baby girl.'' okay,so we are in a lazy mood, its fine by me''.

Tiny smiled at him. Advay laughed at her and kissed her on head and feeling content breathed in the fresh air and the baby smell.

...2 months later...

Advay was lying on sofa with tiny sitting on his chest. Veer and vani were sitting on opposite sofas drinking tea while Khushi was reading some magazine. Advay was trying to make tiny say his name.

Advay,'''you can do it tiny, say ''aaaddvaayy''

Khushi,''Advay, how many times I have to told you,don't call her tiny.''

Advay,''What's wrong with tiny. she is tiny,see how small she is.''

Khushi,''she is a baby. She is supposed to be small.''

Advay''okay, I will try to call tiny something else.''

Khushi rolled her eyes. Kids these days.

Advay,'' say addvaayyy''

Chandhni,''ayy.''

Vani,''di I called Megha's boarding school today, her vacations are starting from 25th. Lets plan to go somewhere this year. Advay ,Veer you two free?.''

Advay,''advay'.

Chandhni,'' aay''

Veer,'' No, I have started my internship at one of the news company. I am not free this summer.''

Advay,''you are missing ''dv'' tiny, say advay''

Vani,''just for a week.''

Veer,''okay, will try to talk to vijay uncle''

Advay,''say Advay''

Vani,''I will call him, don't worry. what about you Advay?''

Advay''I am free.''

Vani teased Khushi,''So we are all free di, now you need to get your arnav ji's permission for us.''

Khushi nodded and said,''don't worry, he will agree. Its been ages since we all went out together.''

''Addvay''

There was a pin drop silence in the room while everyone stared at Chandhni. 

Advay himself was looking at her shocked. ''Advayy'' she repeated happily. 

Advay let out a loud happy yell and jumped from sofa with tiny in his arms and started dancing. Vani and Veer started dancing too with Khushi yelling for Advay to hold the baby securely.

...1 month later...

Advay came home running, today mum had taken tiny for doctor's appointment. He wanted to go with them but since he had accounts paper today, he could not go. She still could not walk. Some people said that it was nothing to worry about as some children learned to walk later but still no one wanted to take any chances. 

He found Khushi in kitchen cooking. Khushi took one look at his worried face and said,''everything is okay, doctor said because we are always carrying her in arms and not letting her down on ground much, so that's why she is not walking yet. So, we need to encourage her to walk and since she spends most of her time with you, its your duty to not pick her and try to make her walk.''

Advay nodded and asked,''where is she?''

Khushi smiled,''With your baba, going through office files with him''

Advay laughed at this. Tiny had the habit of opening Arnav's files and turning pages, everyone figured it out that since she had seen Arnav doing it,so she tried to copy him. After she tore 3 files,she was banned from going to baba's study but she threw such a big tantrum that baba himself took her there and now each day,she spent one hour ''going through the files''.

Advay arranged the cushions all around his room and then made tiny stand at one end. He grabbed one of the power puff stuffed toy and waved it in air,''come tiny get it''.

Chandhni took a tiny step toward him then another and went down. Advay leaped forward and held her. Both looked at each other.

Chandhni ,''want it Avay''

Advay,''Advay. okay tiny, lets go.''

He got up and made her stand, then since he was so tall and she barely reached his knee, he bent downward and held one of her finger and slowly made her walk toward the cushion where the toy was lying.
