You spot a distressed looking Sans on the screen of your phone. Soon he is joined by the faces of the others from your universe.
"(Y/N)!?!"
Sans says worriedly.
"Hey Sans!"
"Oh m-my g-god! Are you
o-ok!?!"
"Hey punk! Glad you're not dead!"
"HUMAN, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?"
"Darling! Your not hurt, are you!?!"
All your friends fret over you, and you rush to comfort them.
"I'm sorry for not answering! When I was in that void my phone died... But I'm out now!"
"But... Where are you now?"
Undyne questions. She has a look of curiosity in her eyes when she sees your new surroundings.
"This is the multiverse! Every square is a different alternate universe! Of we search a bit, we can find you guys!"
You say excitedly. Sans looks worried... Again T-T.
"Who's we?"
You perk up, stars practically shinning in your eyes.
"Do you wanna meet another Sans?"
"Another!?!"
"Yup!"
"Sure... I guess?"
You slowly angle the camera to Ink.
"This is a Sans, but I call him Ink! He guards the multiverse!"
You chirp happily.
"He is so cool!"
You add. You swear Ink's face turns colorful, but you don't know what it is.
"As long as your safe..."
Sans says. He seems to have an undertone of... Anger?
"Hey punk, when are you coming back?"
"Soon hopefully!"
"I AM SO EXCITED HUMAN!"
"Me too, guys! I gotta go, see ya soon!"
"Bye (y/n)!"
Everyone says in unison.
You hang up, and turn to Ink. Then you break into a run, searching through the squares.
"(Y/n) wait! You don't know where you're going!"
Ink shouts.
But you have a pretty good idea. Something inside you, is pulsing and guiding you. Remy appears at your side every now and then, occasionally grabing your hand and leading you in a different direction.
Not too far away, a large square floats in the air. It seems bigger then the others, and somehow, older. You can tell that this is your universe.
You look into the square, and see a huddle of familiar people in the Skelebro's living room.
Undyne, Alphys, Asgore, Toriel, Papyrus, Sans, Mettaton, Frisk, and even Flowey are all there. Most of them have worried looks. Minus Flowey, of course.
Ink finally catches up to you, looking slightly out of breath.
"Why didn't you just teleport?"
You say teasingly.
"Huh. Wish I'd thought of that."
"Ya bonehead!"
"You look cute when you laugh."
Both of you pause when he says this.
"Shoot! Did I say that out loud?"
You giggle, and nod your head. Your face heats up, and you could make a tomato jealous. His face is covered in... Rainbow? Is it like Sans and his blue blush? Strange.
"So... Are we gonna go in?"
You ask, calming down.
Are you sure you want to?
Who was that?
I'm Remy! I just... Went into your head, I guess.
Ok... Cool?
Ya! I think so!
Anyway...
"We can go now, if you want. But like I said, you might not stay there. We will have to pull you out when the portal appears."
Well, at least you get to see your friends.
That's the spirit!
You nod your head in understanding. As long as you got to see your friends, even for a second, you would do it.
"I'm ready."
"Ok, hold on tight."
Ink says. You grab his hand.
You run your fingers across the smooth bone, feeling the heat spread through your face. Strangly, you don't mind it.
(Y/N) and Ink, sittin' in a tree!
K.I.S.S.I.N.G~!
Shut it, Remy.
You here a huff in your head, but you choose to ignore it.
Ink drags his paintbrush accross the square, creating one of his dimension portals. The swirling 3D card effect is still confusing, but less so compared to last time.
Ink pulls you through it, and you follow behind. It lasts only a second or two, and suddenly your feet connect with air.
You screech in surprise, closing your eyes and preparing for impact.
You fall forward, landing face-first on something soft and comfy.
When you sit up, your face goes red.
You landed on the couch, on top of Ink.
Your head is on his chest, while your right leg is wrapped around his left one. Your left hand his under his back, and his right hand is tangled in your hair.
Your face heats up, and you are screaming on the inside.
Screaming with joy!
I thought I told you to shut it!
Fine...
You untangle yourself quickly, examining your surroundings. You avoid eye contact with Ink.
You notice that you were in the skelebro's house. On the floor were quite a few faces, all staring at you with wide eyes.
" 'Sup guys!"
You say with a smile.
Every face breaks into a giant grin.
"(Y/N)!!!!"
Several voices shout at once.
Streaks of color fly at you, and suddenly you are crushed in a group embrace.
Sans is the closest one to you, and you blush when he grabs your face.
His boney hand grips your chin, and heat once again rises to your face. He seems to examine you, as if making sure you aren't hurt too much.
"Watcha doing Sans?"
You ask, your face red.
"Making s-sure your ok."
Sans replies. He has his signature blue blush tinting his cheekbones.
Sans lets go, and you find yourself wishing his hand was still there. His chalky bone is smooth on your skin, as if it belonged there.
"So... Heres the problem."
Ink begins.
He also seems to have an undertone of anger. Why? He shoots Sans a glare, and Sans returns it. You don't notice this, but Ink looks away, and continues to talk.
"If (y/n) stays here, the portal will reopen soon. Think of the world as a game. A game has code, and numbers. The machine caused her to glitch, and now the multiverse isn't sure where you belong, because your code was altered."
Ink's expression looks passive, while all of your friends look sad.
"So, in other words, she's a glitch now? A-And she won't be able to stay in one universe?"
Sans asks. His voice cracked. His voice never cracks! He must be really upset...
And you are too.
You won't get to stay at home? You have been condemmed to a life of dimension hopping, only able to see your friends for a little bit at a time.
This is a problem. But what if you go through the machine again?
What do you mean use the machine again?
Well, if the machine altered your code, then maybe altering it again will fix it!
Huh. That's not a bad idea! I'll shoot it past Ink.
You like him.
What! No I don't! He saved my life from a creepy Error Sans!
Sure.
Just stuff it.
Ook.
"I have an idea!"
You say. You hate to take credit, but you can't exactly tell them about Remy. At least not yet.
"W-Well, w-what is i-it?"
Alphys questions.
"You said the machine changed my code, right?"
"Yes."
Ink replies.
"What if I go through it again? Eventually I'll have my original code, right?"
Then Alphys sighs, and pushes her glasses up.
"W-Well, trying s-something l-like that w-would take forever! I-If you are c-code, then c-code is often extremely l-long. Changing little th-things at a time, until you get the original, would t-take almost a-an et-ternity!"
Alphys explains.
You sigh too, and ponder this answer. What else can you do? You don't see any other options.
Well there goes that idea.
You plop down on the couch. If you only get to spend a little time here, then you are going to make these moments last.
Sorry, it might not be the best chapter. I am moving my room down to the basement, and painting has been exhausting! I should be done moving by Wednesday, so then you will see more of me XD.
See you soon lovely readers!
