　“I’m sorry, but I have to go now.”

　“Why? Why won’t you stay?”

　I saw her apologetic smile after I asked the question. She only shook her head, explaining how it was her duty to help others in need, soon after. I know that and I was grateful for it. If not for her, I would have been decapitated by those evil knights—who now were laying unconciously on the ground.

　“My objective here is done already, Eren. I need to go now...” her tone was soft, attempting to deliver her guilt for having to leave me alone inside this dimlit room.

　No.

　I had been alone long enough inside this suffocating place. Any longer and I would surely lose my mind. That was the slightest I wanted to happen.

　Why couldn’t she understand that?

　Did she have to leave so soon after rescuing me just like this?

　“No. You can’t leave.”

　And suddenly, a deafening scream filled the room.

　“Why... why did... you do that...?”

　Her question was barely above a whisper between ragged breathing from instense pain. Cheery eyes turned hazy, pretty face drained of its color, ashen.

　I examined the bloodied wing in my hands, gently running my fingers on the velvety feathers. Smiling, my gaze left the whiteness of that wing to the kneeling angel in front of me.

　“Isn’t it clear? If I robbed your wing, you would not be able to leave me. I won’t be alone. As simple as that.”
