　There definitely was something up with her lover.

　Jinguji Jakurai was reserved, calm, someone who thought first before speaking, and rather distant kind of man. He rarely exploded. From their half a year relationship, she only witnessed him losing his temper once. And in all honesty, that was in her top three things she did not want to face again. Ever.

　Today was no different day than usual, actually. Both of them enjoying their moments together in the living room, sitting side by side, a plate full of dango served before them accompanied with two cups of green tea. Yet, she could not find herself enjoying her time.

　The air was thick with tense she could cut it with a knife.

　“Is there something wrong?” unable to hold the awkwardness any longer, she decided to ask.

　The ex-hitman took a sip of his green tea before answering in a calm tone, “What caused you to assume that there is something wrong, dear?”

　After that, here came another awkward silence.

　There ought to be something that made Jakurai asking back instead of answering her question in an instant.

　Flipping her brain upside-down and vice versa, (Your name) gave her best to recollect her memory of what she had done within this week. It seemed there was nothing wrong with her activities. It was just her daily routines. Waking up, going to school, doing her tasks, then she should be having a date with Jakurai yesterday but got cancelled because she—

　Uh-oh.

　Found it.

　“Is it because of yesterday? When I cancelled our date because I had to do a group assignment with Ramuda?”

　Jakurai placed his cup on the table. It took a few moments before the lad turned his head to face his girlfriend with a gentle smile. Seconds passed then, wordlessly, the doctor continued enjoying his green tea.

　(Your name) sweatdropped. So it was the reason behind Jakurai’s odd calmness today.

　Since their first meeting, (Your name) never doubted the fact that Jakurai was a calm person. Even so, there were different types of calm in her dictionary regarding Jakurai’s personality.

　And this time it was definitely that ‘calm before a storm’ type.
