How to correctly write a sympathetic AloneTraveler

Oh my. Well here we are. I unpublished this for a while, but it's back up

And I'm not doing "tip:69" any more because fuck You

On to the core subject,

I'm going to get something straight, Alone- in the way most people write him- shouldn't be redeemed. He's too vile and doesn't deserve a second chance.

You need to write Alone in a sympathetic way from the beginning- and give a reason for it.

Don't just have Alone crying, that's not what I meant by sympathetic.

Don't make Alone a cry baby, don't have characters besides Einin and maybe Foxicate feel bad for him. Have him hide pain from everyone he loves and hates, making him cold and irritable.

Here's a prompt for this;

Alone is devastated by the fall of his kingdom, and the new war that started. Have him blame Selozar because he's the most similar looking to a guardian, and he was the one who left Alone for dead. For a sense of relief, Alone takes every last ounce of anger out on Selozar, while also using that force to kill off the beasts. He's in an internal battle and refuses to get help, thinking it's a sign of weakness. Eventually he's forced to get help, and begins to work towards being a better person, and having to let Selozar go. After about 7 chapters, he isn't fully recovered, but is on his way to being okay. Selozar despises him though, so he never meets up with him again.

In other stories, what is the main sympathy standpoint? He's sad. It never gets explored. And Selozar cares for him, which would only work if he was being manipulated.

You can't make someone truly sympathetic if they're a known abuser.

And please

Don't do one chapter on redemption.

It takes time.
