thirty nine - panic attacks

i'm writing ab this one specifically, to clarify some things i've mentioned before.

previously: the first thing you should know is that anxiety and panic attacks aren't the same. They may have the same symptoms, like: racing heartbeat, shortness of breath, dizziness, trembling and muscle tension, and can also happen unexpectedly. the difference? a panic attack is an episode of intense anxiety, which causes the physical sensations of fear. what I mean is, a panic attack is a more intense version of an anxiety attack.

1) first of all, i said they CAN happen unexpectedly, they CAN, not they DO - THEY C A N. so dont always make them unexpected. usually you start to feel the panic settle in and then it gets more intense.

2) usually the thought process during is not always complete. as in, the sentences in a persons mind is cut off by other sentences. their thoughts are disoriented, incoherent and repetitive. the reader should feel like the character is panicking not being told they are.

3) after a panic attack, your symptoms dont magically disappear. they dont go away and youre automatically fine. your heart will still race, or youll still be tense afterwards.

4) a lot of people are just writing it as the character saying, "i cant breathe". give me a character that will apologise a hundred times in a row, give me a character that cant complete their sentences, give me a character that will not say anything.

5) a lot of people that go through panic attacks, dont like being touched. give me a character that will shove others away, give me a character that will flinch when someone touches their hand

6) people always get embarrassed about them afterwards. always

7) friendship and love will not be the cure for a panic attack, thats not how it works. it's important for someone to be there, yes, but it's not going to make everything magically disappear.
