let's get down to business. this first lesson is on descriptions. so, let's be real, nobody wants to read something like the below sentences—

Jared had brown hair. His cheekbones were sharp. He was very handsome.

no. gross. so many simple sentences. no complex sentences. no similes or metaphors. this is not what we should be shooting for. instead it should be something like this—

With his messy dark brown hair and cheekbones that could cut through a rock, Jared practically screamed the word 'heartthrob.'

see the difference? by comparing his cheekbones to something strong enough that could cut through rock and adding the simple 'messy dark brown hair,' the description sounded way more interesting and was way better than the three simple sentences i had before.
